Help Japan: Single Paper Crane

As you may have heard over the weekend, Japan suffered a major earthquake, and one of strongest in recorded history. Relief efforts are ongoing, as waves continue to hit throughout the country, making rescue and recovery difficult. Our hearts go out to all of our Japanese users, as well as the citizens of Japan coping with this difficult time.
I know times are hard for everyone right now, but if you'd like to assist with relief efforts, you can text the letters REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, or by going to the Red Cross website. Other organizations are also joining the efforts in Japan, and every little bit helps.
The item at the top of this post is the new Free Gift.

This is why I love you, Subeta. ♥️
Already knew about the text donating-and donated!-from Twitter but great idea to make a newspost about it! The more people who know about the option, the better. Just looked at some before and after satellite photos. shudder Can't imagine what it'd be like in the middle of that, or trying to recover from it.

Pray for Japan. Keith, this is such a nice message you are spreading throughout Subeta. May the Japanese people find peace through this terrible disaster.
Love it. Thank you Keith, thank you Subeta for this lovely, brilliant item. I love the world. <3

this is why i love subeta, the compassion on this site c: touching idea the item description is beautiful, i never knew that about the cranes. my thoughts go out to Japan, those affected currently there, families and friends. I have such a love for Japan and how much the culture and people have inspired me. I was in tears watching it on the television ;-;
thank god for subeta. i'm so glad we can come together as a community over things like this instead of living in "ignorant bliss." unlike some other sites where you're not even -allowed- to talk about the real world...
the crane is so beautiful. i read that book in middle school. only need 999 more. maybe if we put all of ours together~

What a gorgeous gesture, thank you Subeta! This is why I love you guys 8)
I'm donating wherever and whenever I can, and will continue to do so aslong as I can.
My thoughts are with everyone with friends/family in Japan who are currently missing, and my heart goes out to people who have lost loved ones.

I think its fantastic that Subeta is bringing this awareness to everyone who plays on this site,
not like all of us dont already know the tragic things occuring in Japan.
Thankfully my family there is safe, close to the epicenter of the quake but
sheilded by the mountain from the tsunami thank God!
i havent been able to contact a friend not knowing her number.
A man who owns a Dojo near my uncles shop
is in sheer dispaire and loss,
his house in Japan is totally distroyed and his
wife and child are missing.
Everything that is happening right now is totally crazy!
The nuclear reactors, earthquake, tsunami.
Im trying to donate some money and wish i could be there
so that i could lend a helping hand!
im sure everyone is afraid, lost, and confused.
the death toll is getting higher and its so heart renching that it tugs on every one of my heart strings!
I hope everyone learns that none of us are promised tomorrow,
we have to love, let go, and live our lives to the fullest!!
My prayers go out to Japan!
To all of the people!
To everyone who is helping!
and to everyone who has donated or helped from afar in some way!
all we can do is hope and pray!

Thank you! It is wonderful how the Subeta Team memorializes the people who have unfortunately lost their lives in this disaster as well as showing how much the world cares about Japan and her people. My prayers are with all in Japan.

This is very sweet, and I love that you guys are showing concern. I wish I could help out myself, but I'll wear the new gift to show my support. :]
I love this more than I can express. First and foremost, for the sentiment behind it: this has been such a horrible tragedy that has truly left the whole world shaken. Secondly, this free gift is beautiful - and, thirdly, it fits in exactly with my pet Oridzuru. Origami cranes have special meaning to me. :)
Thank you very much for this.
Thank you very much for this.

Such a pretty item for such a tragic event. Hopefully the worst is over for Japan, and the rebuilding can start.
This is very touching... thank you so much for posting this, & for the beautiful gift...
Very nice of Subeta to acknowledge Japan, our hearts and prayers go out to all of them.

Aw, man. I hope the death toll isn't as high as I dread 8( It's sad enough that an online friend lost some of his own RL friends to the Earthquake over there 8C
I've heard that a FOURTH nuclear reactor has caught on fire on the news earlier, leading to even more radiation. Scientists are still studying the after effects from the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic-bomb drops of World War II (even though it's irritating to hear that they're being treated as guinea pigs while the scientists are at it).
I heard rumor that a volcano has also erupted as another result of this earthquake. It pains me to having to hear and read about all these happenings and how the death count is climbing higher. This is making me fear the truth of 2012 O.O
My heart goes to all those who have suffered, indirectly or actual survivors or those in pain from radiation. I hope that many survive and something is created/formed as a sort of memorial to those lost to these disasters in Japan.
And thank you Subeta for helping raising awareness of this. I'll donate right away. Oh, and thank you for the cute little paper crane gift, very beautiful, I might add.
And thank you to those who donated. I'm sure that all those contributions will equal more help and resources sent to the survivors. My heart goes out to all of you.

Wow this is just gorgeous! This is why I love Subeta. They still care about what goes on in the world. <3
It wasn't very long after the New Zealand quake, and very frightening to happen anytime and any place. Thanks for the news post, and for making a difference in the aid relief effort. Thinking about the people in Japan as well.
A lovely item. I really pray that the events in Japan will get better from here on. It's devastating to see what they're going through.

Very sweet! Thank you Subeta! I have a nephew in the Tokyo area and was very relieved to talk to him on Saturday! Our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone in Japan, especially those in the coastal areas that were so devastated!

One of the most commendable aspects of Subeta - the fact that you're more than willing to bring attention to horrific natural calamities, offer support, and encourage those who can to donate to relief funds.
I'm in Colombia right now, but my heart is in Japan.
This is so nice. Thank you so much for doing this Keith, it's really sweet.

I would like to donate blood to the Japanese but I'm not sure how to go about doing that from the USA.
Thanks for the freebie.

This nearly made me tear up a little, as I've got friends and family in Japan and nearby areas.
