Weekend Quests
Quentin is the weekend quest! Do those quests for increased prizes and special rewards!

Yeah, I don't get all the complaining. Quentin gave me lots of good stuff over the weekend, and he hardly ever asks for anything over 10000 sp.

I think most people are probably complaining not just to gripe but also to let the staff know that maybe it's time to have someone else for weekend quests for a change. I don't recall seeing Toy quests, Maleria, Cursed or Major Drill quests for ages.

AUGH! Why him? Don't you know how impossible his quests are now that you've closed down the graveyard shop? He's not worth it.

I agree with @Veratrum, if you don't like Quentin's quests, then don't do them. There's no need to make such a big deal about it and complain, just do some other quests

How about instead of bitching about the WQ, you look, see it's Quentin, groan a bit, and don't comment? Seriously people, I never do Quentin's quest either because I'm poor and would just lose money, but come on. I see the same people bitching each time, not to mention the repeated comments like "I can stay away from the computer this weekend and not miss a thing" "Quentin you suck" "random argument about gender???" etc etc. Just shut up and move on with your fragile lives, a pet site on the internet isn't as big of a deal as you're making it.
Seriously. Enough's enough. If you don't like it, you don't need to bitch and moan about how much this quest sucks, just MOVE ON. Gahd.

If you're so worried about hurting a pixel's feelings how about you call the group of pixels by the name the artist gave the pixels? It's a lot less rude to call a cluster of pixels by the name given by the artist rather than 'it' or 'they' or 's/he', wouldn't want to make a cluster of pixels cry.
In other words, get over it people! Quentin is a cluster of pixels, nothing more. Quentin doesn't have feelings, just an artist and someone who came up with the story line. HE doesn't care and neither does SHE. If you're offended by someone calling Quentin a 'he' or a 'she' or an 'it', please step away from the internet and wrap yourself in a bubble because you're probably going to hear a lot worse things online and offline.

Out of curiosity, since I keep seeing it hurled about, who exactly was being disrespectful to those with ambiguous genders? I didn't note anyone being particularly rude about it or giving it much note, but some people seem to have suddenly jumped on a soap box and I'm not entirely sure why. Someone merely posed the question of he or she or what have you, I think that is simply a curious mind and nothing rude or malicious. As a society, we like to categorize and name, and that isn't really a fault, it is just who we are, it does not lessen our respect of a person's being or decisions, unless they are not deserving of respect for poor actions.
Also, someone commented if they are rude to a pixel what are they like in real life... that's going a little too far, really.
As for me, I don't care if you're sky blue purple, human is human, he, she, it, they, them, whatever. Do you want to see my HRC membership card?! I give every year.
Back on topic-ish, someone does need to sort out the actual randomness of the quests so that all quests get a fair go, that would likely help the economy here more than the same old same old which just mucks about with certain items over and over again.

I'm not going to complain but the gender thing bothers me. Enough guys and girls. Please respect the gender boundaries and stop complaining about it.
Go ahead and complain about he/she is weekend quests all the time but stop picking on the fact of gender. It's pretty disrespectful to see this.

Of course we would all like quests that have more profit, does that really need to be said?
Better than pete's quest or the library quests, if you ask me. I still won't be doing them, though.

The first time, it was disappointing; then, it was funny; then, it was irritating; and now, I'm just glad that this weekend I can be offline without worrying that I'll be missing anything big.

i just wish quentin wasn't every other weekend quest.
though does it really matter whether quentin's character has an undisclosed/aesthetically unidentifiable gender? like, i could care less.
i do care that their frequency as the weekend quest is irritiating, however.

ehhh... I remember Quentin's quests used to actually be slightly worth it, but even though Quentin's really cute it's just really not worth it for the off chance that you might make a little sp.

This quest is silly. there is no profit to be made, so why call it weekend special quest???

The gender issue is an issue because if people are disrespectful to a "pile of pixels" what do you think they'll do in real life? Honestly, it's amazing to me how if someone has an ambiguous or simply undisclosed gender, the quickest reaction is hostility.

The only reason I like Quentin weekends is because it means I will have more time to do other things, mostly offline, without really missing anything much on here.

i would love more of Saggi's quests or Shinwas's quests since if for Shinwa's quest we wouldnt have to wait for 5hrs or more to finally do her quest

Alright, i skip the weekend quest for this week once again. And i will always do that when Quentin is the special one again.
Common guys, we should make quentin leave forever! >;c
What's this gender issue around here every weekend? This comments at least make my day a little bit.
Sheez it's a pile of pixels, who care what he or she is? I call it a IT then.

I get that you guys are trying to promote people to do Quentin more and that we can't have Saggi every week, but what about Toy quests? Or computer geek? Or Alexander? We have so many other quests on here that never seem to get picked

So far this year we've had Quentin quests 6/11 weekends, including this one. I think we've had enough. :| Shouldn't we at least have an equal chance of getting each quest for the weekend? Without a 50% chance of Quentin.

Since "Quentin" is a male name, I call him "he". It would have never occurred to me, he could be a she?!
Anyway, I read all the comments and did a quest - 3 items, cost 9k and back I get 2,654sP and RIP Plushie, which is mundane and sells for 3k. That's what I, too, really call not worth it for a regular quest and defying what represents a WEQ.

I love Quentin as a character, but his quests are a loss of money for me. So, no. Just no.

Wow, that's a lot of negative comments and arguments on Quentin, quests and NPC both. Is it so difficult to ignore anything you don't like?
Don't know that I have time to do these this weekend, but I might give it a go.

the people defending her gender neutrality every single weekend are so funny. she sucks too much to be be sensitive about it.

"This one appears so often that the special items given out have all but lost their value" .. this, if Quentin which has turned from a pretty decent quest to this, and to be honest even if a special quest isn't worth the time and effort unless you are new and don't spend more then 1500 Sp on each quest. The weekend quests on the whole have gotten very disappointing with the new "makeover". I realize there was some concern people making too much coin from all the quests but lots rarely did them all and those that DID make a lot of coin were at least on site longer. Oh well.. I can use with a rest the week-end anyway.

Yay, more Quentin. (That is not sarcasm, I'm actually happy.) It means I have a better shot at the plethora of Graveyard items I still want. c:

LOL None is neither calling Quentin "it" or trying to define their gender, I was just curious to how people call them he or she knowing they're androgynous :P And no, I (at least) don't call Quentin it, I call them "they".

Look, I don't hate Quentin. We've just seen zir too often! I don't know why it's so hard to implement a cooldown period into the system. This goes for saggi and wiz too, having them repeatedly ruins the economy. I miss Maleria and Computer Geek especially.
And uh, people, gender ambiguity isn't something that has to be 'cleared up'. Just stop.

Lol, i don't even mind Drunk Carl...he tends to give me at least one WL item every time, so it ends up being worthwhile (i hoard Rathskeller items for that purpose though and only do the quest when i have the item or it's in stock...it's not worth bothering if you have to buy from usershops). I do think everyone should be given access to him when he's the WSQ though.
Good point about the Battle Quests...those are so different from all the other quests i tend not to think of them as quests. I always do them though. It would sure be interesting to see how those would work as a WSQ.

I might be considered a "really rich people" (here that is, not off in the real world, not by a long shot) but I still do the Weekend Quests every week, with the exception of Drunk Carl, because no, no, no. I'd be more productive smashing my head against a wall. I can be just as anxious about virtual money as real money.
I don't recall seeing Toy or Battle, and most of the others seem to pop up so infrequently, one forgets they are in rotation. Cursed Quests, for example. There seems to be Saggi, Wiz, Quentin and Maleria who get the most play time. The first two, yes, good, second two, not so much.

It might be precisely because i AM "hurting for money" a little bit that i don't mind these quests...the return isn't as significant as with some other quests but i can appreciate the amount i do get. To really rich people, it might seem like too much effort for too little reward. It's rather like picking up change on the ground...millionaires probably wouldn't tend to bother, lol.
Are some of the quests really not in the rotation? I've always wondered about the Toy Quest. I haven't seen that one come up yet. I find it to be the most absolutely worthless and frustrating quest on the site, so i'm further behind on the achievements for it than any other. I would love some extra little incentive to get more of those done.

Uh, regardless of whether or not we don't like the quest... can we keep the rudeness out of this? Just because you don't know someone's gender doesn't mean they don't have one, or would appreciate being called an "it." (Unless Quentin specifically wants to be referred to as 'it.' We can't really ask them.) Having an ambiguous gender representation isn't a bad thing, anyway.

I play the quests when they come up, but I'm not hurting for money like some people might be. They do need to actually come up with an incentive for people to play the Quentin quests when they are weekend specials. Money wise, you do not see an immediate return, which can be disheartening to some people.
And yes, it does defy probability. By all means, let it stay in rotation, but clearly the rotation is broken, or someone is a wanker. I think ALL the quests should be part of the rotation, personally.

No matter what Quentin is supposed to be, she looks like a skinny young girl. And getting tired of having Q for WEs. Can't we get somebody else for a change?

I agree that s/he's showing up as the WSQ too often lately and it's not helping the value of the special rewards; i'm just saying in general this quest isn't as awful as i used to think it was and i wouldn't say it should be taken out of the rotation entirely. I do wonder why it has been chosen so often lately...kind of defies probability if it's actually supposed to be random...i just don't really mind.

@Asahina age old desire to classify? That, and calling Quentin 'it' seems rather rude. In fact, calling anything not an inanimate object IT is rude, though, Quentin is technically an inanimate object.
It has always signified an inability to categorize in regards to the living, though, there's a lot of ITs walking around DC misrepresenting the people. I haven't managed to come up with the right term for that lot yet.

Now, aside the (not so appealing) rewards, why people keep calling Quentin a he if they're neither a guy or a girl? o__o
0
Memoria
This one appears so often that the special items given out have all but lost their value, the only reason the Graveyard Shop items retain or go up a bit in value, is because that shop is closed, but continually allowing this quest to be the "special weekend quest" hurts the pricing. Funny, I thought that was something they were trying to avoid in the economy, but they continue to fuel the problem.
0
Synth
I'll say it again: this quest isn't as bad as everyone always makes it out to be. I know it feels like you're getting ripped off since it always costs sP to do them, but you do end up profiting in the long run after you sell all the rewards. At least if you do pretty much all the quests. If you're too choosy or give up too soon you might not get much since a lot of the quests give crap prizes, but over the long term you get enough items with enough value to come out ahead and sometimes you get lucky and get something really valuable. I know it's not as impressive as Saggi but having him every weekend would just screw up the economy anyway. :P

OMG not again? Didn't we have Quentin for the past month on weekends? Not worthwhile so guess I won't be wasting my time. *sigh*
