Custom Wearable Competition!
Have you been itching to have your wearable on site as a real official Subeta item? Applications are now open for those wishing to compete and display their fashion design skills during the upcoming Peka-Boo festival! Winners will have their item released as an official piece of Subeta art, and sold alongside our other official items in the Peka-Boo Fashion stalls in the SP currency.
Due to space limitations, you may submit a maximum of three items per user that will be shown before a panel of judges behind the scenes - including well known fashion icon Esmerelda, the designers Delish, Camilo, and more! Five winners will be chosen by our judges, but we are leaving the 6th winner up to you! The fan favorite of the competition will also be released as an official item!
You have until 1pm on the 16th of July to get your items submitted. At that point, we\'ll put up a gallery of every item that has been approved as being up to Subeta standards in order for you guys to pick your favorite. The item that gets the most votes will be the 6th item put into Peka-Boo\'s stalls.

I joined the contest. I just hope my items are up to the current Subeta standards, so people can actually vote for mine, haha.
Hopefully the next announcement is something everyone can participate in.. it's kind of annoying that so far, this event is centered around needing money. I get it, I'm broke too but shit.
I entered.... I really hope that the sub artists will redraw one's entry if it wins. I can draw.. but i certainly can't manage subeta style ;v;......

I don't think there needs to be recolors. There are a lot of single-color subeta official items (all of the subq lines, for example). I think the rules now are fine, from what I understand the winning items will be going to a Peka Boo shop for the event and not like a Clothing Rack style shop.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of items submitted and the likeliness of the same item in two diff colors to be chosen are very slim.

So, I have a suggestion: have the winners give a possibility of two recolors.
YES I AM HUNG UP ON THIS. But it sort of seems like a waste, or a possibility of a waste. Say someone uploads two items, a brunette wig and a blonde wig. Both get picked. Two of the exact same thing, instead of a completely different design (which would broaden the possible amount of sales + interest).
And by contrast, what if the brunette is picked but more people would prefer it in blonde.
By picking a design and letting the artists know "hey, you can do a possibility of two more colors" they can go and do a brunette, blonde, and ginger, and still leave the site open to picking more designs in the end.

When it comes to CW's do they get redrawn to fit the site better? Everyone has a style for when they draw and sometimes trying to fit a theme or style that you are not used it isn't easy.

As much I can draw, I think trying to make sure my cws look like current subeta style is probably far away from my level yet. (maybe if it was 2006-2008 subeta style I would have a better chance) Alas, Lindsay's revamp is just gorgeous. Still waiting for the day when the Beanbag and Atebus shops get their own shopkeepers though.
Do I need drawing skills? Or can the subeta artists redraw my item to make it look more realistic?

I do think it would be fun to have a contest where people sketch ideas, then a sub artist recreates it in the style of sub/makes it a finished product. It would give those who dont have csc for commission/people not great at art a chance :] Maybe that could happen in the future.

I don't have any comment on the custom wearable competition, but I do have to say I love the NPC's revamp. I never even noticed that she had tan lines in her old image until I saw the old and new images side by side.
I wish I could draw or commision someone...but I can't wait to see what people come up with, and to have it as an official subeta item to be able to buy with csc! :D

YES YES YES! I have been waiting forever for her update! F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S job! :D I also love how she looks more like a woman now vs her old version that looked as if she was 16-17. (I want her necklace!)
Loving the revamp! Unfortunately, I only do traditional art...Still excited to see what the CW artists come up with though :)
I wish there was an option to enter drawings instead of CWs and then if a drawing won, a site artist would make the item. I don't have enough money to commission anyone and I'm no good at CWs myself. Still, I'm excited to see what comes out of this.

Well, that kind of sucks. I guess I'll just try to do facial items since wigs/clothing are almost always wanted in various colors. It'd bring in more for the site, too.

Sorry, but no on the recolors after winning. :( What you can do is submit recolors as your other entries and hope that they are chosen.

Winning items will be considered official items and as such CW recolors of said item will not be allowed. If your entry does not win, you can certainly submit it later as a CW!

Commissions do not count towards the artists entries. If they are commissioned 20 times, there may be 20 entries using their art, but the items (and rewards) belong entirely to the commissioners.

Are we allowed to expand the line ? Say we win, will we be able to do recolors of it for the event ? Or as CW's after the fact ?

I can't draw CWs and doubt I'll be able to commission anyone right now, but I'm so excited about this! I can't wait to see the entries, we've got some incredible CW artists here.

I really love this, I just find it a little disappointing that commissioned designs can be entered. I totally get why, but it just feels gross. /unpopular opinion

Yet another time I wish I had even a smidge of art skills. I'm pretty sure I can name several people who will enter off the top of my head. Also, I don't see this in the rules, but I'm curious. If an artist draws say 9 items, and they submit three, would it be against the rules to go to two other people and have them submit the other six while crediting the artist?
Also also, not hating but not loving Lindsay's redraw. She looks better, but I hate the shorts tan line. I always assumed she work a bikini, not shorts more often than her bikini. Maybe I never noticed the shorts before, always looked like she went from one bikini to a smaller one to me. I love her expression, though. Gives me a "You mad bro?" kind of vibe.
