Heron and Roadrunner are the best (but then again, I'm prone to wanting short, masculine hairstyles).
What in the blue blazes is going on with the shading on cash shop items lately? These are some of the worst offenders yet. The lineart on the macaw wig in particular is much too thick and dark, making the shading look even more bizarre and like a hair-hat instead of a wig. As for the bird of paradise wig, novel intentions! But the texture on the bang/main hair is entirely too smooth and shiny and the lines of the shading are going in the wrong direction, making it look like the HA is wearing a bad drawstring half wig.
I will say though that the Heron hair is nicely done (which is probably what's making the others look so bad). That heron. Such a show-off.

If only they were shaded and lined better, I'd rush to get them. I like the concept and styles, but the overlay art is rather disappointing.

Saw the items and read the bottom line wrong, thought it said they were new wings, hovered over and realised they were wigs, got disappointed. I like the heron one though.
Some of them do look a little...old, wearable art wise, but I do see maybe three that I love as is (that heron one is amazing, I require it and I don't even do male wigs that much).
Only one that really, really looks unusable (to me) is that macaw one although I do dig the style the artist was going for. c:

The item artwork looks great on all of them, but the wearables themselves seem old. They look like old art that needs revamped already.

I think this is the style the artist was going for, and I appreciate that they're trying new things. I do think there's some issues with the shading (mainly that the lighting is inconsistent), but I don't have a problem with the style itself, which is the part you were complaining about.

Wow. I had some high hopes for these wigs. What is going on with the art department? How did these get approved?
No thanks. I would've liked them if they had been done with the thinner lines like most of the items on the site. The lineart is too thick which is a shame because they're otherwise nice.

I like the raven and swallow! Though i agree with others about some of the lines being too thick, and some wigs look a little sticker-ish or painted. Other than that these are great :) it can't be too easy to make the wigs look like the birds!
I love them. I think they are imaginative and original, plus they really do represent the bird mentioned very well. :)

ah these are so beautiful!! so upset i cant afford the road runner one. colors are gorgeous and i love the hair styles, especially roadrunner, heron, and raven! the artist did such a good job!!
These look like Subeta art 5 years ago, with the thick lines and weird shading. It's really unfortunate, especially when you compare these wigs to CW ones. Most CWs that I see look glossy, not shiny, and flowy and natural. These look like they've sprayed an entire bottle of hair spray on them and as such are very stiff and odd looking.
so my favourites have to be the pigeon, the heron, and the peka glade wigs! omg the bounciness of the pigeon wig's curls are just gorgeous!! and the peka glade wig is the prettiest in terms styling, not just because it reminds me of beyonce lol. but my fave is defs the heron; what a perfect hairstyle for a handsome drac or smth sinister like that.
plus, i also am in love with the bird theme: super cute!
ultimately though, a lot of the constructive criticism people have been throwing around is p valid imo. i think the macaw is the most concerning but really the only thing that is throwing me off so much about it is just the thickness of the lineart; otherwise it's actually quite a lovely wig and i don't even like rainbow hair all that much. the little curl on the right side of the HA's head is really cute. i guess maybe one other tiny issue with this wig is maybe just the flow of the hair at the bottom. otherwise good job!!

Lineart is a bit thick on some of these, and it's making them look a bit dated :c I like the variety of shapes and textures, though!
They look wonderful, however if you could thin out the outline they'd be perfect. You did a great job though artists. Thanks for all of your hard work. c:
I'm going to agree with the majority here and say that a lot of these look like old art. The lineart is just way too thick on some of these and everything is so shiny. Even the wig I like, Pigeon, is really shiny and I'm hesitant to buy it. The raven colors look really nice but the way it's styled looks a little odd to me, it just feels very heavy.
These are beautiful! The artists did a great job drawing inspiration from the birds these wigs are based on.
The only one I really like is the Raven. The others, not so much. I wish I could say I love the Macaw as well, but like many people have pointed out, it seems so off.
I like the drawings and some of the colors but not the wigs themselves. So won't need to use up any CSC for these. Especially with July collection coming out tomorrow. Need CSC for July (CWs in trades). These would be nice for TCs though.
Very disappointed with the wigs. None of them look that great. The item overlays are good, but that's about it (I have no interest in the male wigs)
Love the macaw colors but....i cant see spending cash for the quality. It looks plastic and...off.
And then I read they were wigs and combined with seeing the overlays and reading everyone else's critques, it's just disappointment all around. The Macaw one has a nice color scheme and style but I agree with others, it looks plastic or stickery. :(

Don't get me wrong, the majority look pretty solid. The Macaw, Bird of Paradise, and Vulture are the ones that really have issues.
The art quality is usually amazingly consistent around here but some of these really stand out in a bad way. Sorry it has to be said, but some of these look like first-round HA items that haven't been revamped yet.
Wow, the hairstyles really captured each bird they represent really well! I really like them! I'm a bit indifferent to some of the overlay art; they're similar to previous CS releases (recently retired ones too if I recall) so I'm not too bothered by it.
Even in that dumb gif you posted Jennifer's hair isn't so glued down that it looks unrelated to both parts of the hairstyle.
@Speiro did you even take the time to look at it? Apparently not. If you did, you would see that they don't flow. There needs to be some correlation between both parts. Either the back needs to be a little more sleek or the top a little more frizzy. The way it looks now is a cut and paste job of two completely different styles. But no, apparently you just don't see these kjnds of things. Or choose not to.

Kind of hit and miss with these hairs - I love the items though, they'd be great for a TC. :D
The longer wigs seem to be of lower quality than the shorter ones though. Inconsistent lineart, light source from all over and washy colours seem to make them look old and as though they need a revamp already. Shame as the item images are so nice!
