Get Your Brew On: Design Your Own Microbrew

Alegarten is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate it than by running a user contest?
You will have until September 22nd to design your very own microbrew that will be sold at the brewery during Alegarten!
What does this contest involve exactly? You will be naming your drink, coming up with a fun description for it, designing a logo that can easily fit on a label, and deciding other fun factors such as making it a six pack or a single brewed drink. There are so many possibilities! You can incorporate NPCs from around the site into your design, such as having Lukien brew up something delicious. You could also design a drink around one of our species, like a brew strong enough to take down a mortiking! Again, the possibilities are endless. Note: Your drink should be a brewed drink such as an ale, beer, cider, lager, etc.
You do not have to draw the item; our artists will be making the official art. You can submit art for your logo or just a detailed description.
On September 22nd at 11:59pm, we will be closing submissions and opening up user voting. You will be able to vote for 5 of your favorite drink ideas. On September 28th at 11:59pm we will be closing down voting and the top 5 drinks will be created to be sold at the Brewery.
If you win, you’ll be getting a free copy of your delicious drink as well as your choice of an item from the cash shop (retired or current, though CSC cards and GAs do not count) and 15 forum shop points!
Please don’t try to create or consume any actual alcohol while participating in this contest.

@Squid @Nike Nope! When voting opens, all the ideas will be anonymous (as in the usernames won’t be shown). People should be voting for the brew they think sounds the best, looks the best, is the coolest, etc. I personally will be keeping in mind my pets when I go to vote because there is some great potential for TC items out of this!

Oh .... So I don't actually drink alcohol but I have this super brilliant idea. But wine is not exactly microbrew....is it? Enlighten me? Could I submit a wine based drink?

Can we post about our microbrew and chat it up and try to drum up votes before the voting actually starts?

That might make it easier for some of us. :)

I do see your point of view but still agree to disagree. I'm satisfied that it's not irl and I doubt that a theoretical 13-year-old who actively plays Subeta will be able to win such an in-depth onsite challenge.

Non-alcoholic beverages can be submitted alongside alcoholic ones.
It's not encouraging anything. Not much different than what goes on irl already.

@kbbob
There's no adult beverage actually being designed. This will never end up being a real beer or cocktail. It's essentially awarding someone for a 64x64 image concept

Finally a contest where I don't need to explain to people why I have a strange looking pumpkin or ornament on the table....

@kbbob
I just see this as a nice Alegarten thing onsite, not irl. The PG-13 still stands since that's really an MPAA definition. This is all just my opinion though, and I do sympathize if this is unpleasant for you. I just think there's plenty of alcohol on Subeta already and the contest is a cool way to get users more involved, especially the less artistic or culinarily-inclined.

PG-13 doesn't mean zero alcohol though. I don't see how this promotes irl drinking considering the greatest Subeta scourge:

Cute contest idea!

Totally see what you mean @kbbob ... it's just how all these weapons make people want to go out and fight and kill. Or is the fact this isn't your design a weapon idea really at root here ? Would you see someone arguing what I just said about weapons and not roll your eyes ?

@DeadGeisha Try to make it subeta related! Anything obviously based off something like a TV show faces the chance of having issues with copyright.
@Muerte omg are you trying to kill people ever clear is crazy. We have a few examples of not having like ale, beer, etc in the name for our Alegarten drinks, so that’s fine. :) Just try to make it very clear in the description what it is! (Example of one of our drinks: Mug of Helles with the description being ‘Order this pale lager during Alegarten, and you will get a hefty liter mug! But not to worry; while a liter might look intimidating to the uninitiated, this beer is so light and refreshing that you might find yourself downing it quickly and asking for more.’)
@kbbob omg
@METROID Sure! There are non-alcoholic beers out there after all. :)

This is super fun - I had a spur of the moment idea and created my drink, but I do wonder how popularity will affect the actual voting. Will our usernames be hidden during the voting to discourage this? I'm simply curious.

Because why the hell not? Why do we have a contest based on alcoholic beverages on a 13+ site? Weren't cigarette commercials pulled for a reason? I can only think that this is similar?
The contest is not telling users to go concoct an actual alcoholic beverage. If you are of age and can drink, it just gives you a bit of an advantage for flavor profiles.
@Amber
Are non-alcoholic drink ideas allowed to be submitted for the contest?

Well i submitted it, I hope it works out would love to see something i thought of out there in game land lol
