AAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent been on in a few weeks and lost all my reading drive currency

SON OF A B______

Twisted_Pretzel

@Sorcerer
Its the Islanders face paint.
0

Naughty_Pookie

I had a death in the family, so no I haven't been on the site and now all my hard earned reading drive points are just GONE! I tend to hord points back to use for gifts for friends wishlists. Nice when gift giving season is coming up.

Something this big should've been emailed in a newsletter.
2

LucidDreams

I didn't see the notice that they'd be retiring...looking back through the news I see it, but it was posted like a week ago. That's really short notice for something like this. It took me a lot of effort to get those points as I was a noob and didn't have any retired books stocked up. I was saving the points to buy friends Christmas presents and whatnot.

Oh well, yet another reason for me to not bother coming back to Subeta.
1

Sorcerer

@Twisted_Pretzel
Nope. Is that original islander face paint, or some tattoo?
0

Twisted_Pretzel

And yet another group of my valuables I had saved up- drop in value.

Are we doing more Reading Drives in the future?
3

CassieFenix

Nice! Can't wait to get a few things for TC's

Good thing I got that Reviver of Lion (or whatever that is next to the Malice with the Lion's head on it) when it was affordable in points.

And yay! I can get Wishbook now without breaking my bank!
0

Natsume

Owch.. Malice.. BUT AT LEAST IT'S AFFORDABLE..
0

Purge

The Malice has been given a small upgrade! :)
3

Sabina

RIP @ my remaining points.
good thing I only had maybe...24 left?
1

Lina

@Sopheroo
I wasnt a member back then, I did participate in the last reading drive. It wasnt 'just turning in some cheap hoarded books' for me though. I actually spended quit some money and time into it as I wasnt a member for too long. I cant compair it with the pirate event, I am sure if was more work.
2

Sopheroo

@Lina

The prices are relative to the effort to get the items in the original event.

Pirate vs Islanders wasn't a massive Cookie Clicker game. It was a plot that demanded tens of hours in to get a semi-decent score. So, of course, the prices are high because that specific plot was extremely demanding.

Reading drive was people hoarding books all year long and turning them in in the first 30 minutes of the event, then waiting 2 weeks for prizes.
0

Lina

* prices XD
1

Lina

These prizes are reasonable, they should adjust the prizes of the islanders and Pirates aswell imo C:
1

Alicia

THANK YOU ;-; ;-;
1

Moiira

Aaaand I'm an idiot and forgot to spend my points. Yay.
3

Jai

Stupid question: If my pet has read some of the books but not all of them, and I hit the "direct to collection" tab under books, will I only be charged for the books my pet hasn't read or will I be charged for all of them, regardless?
0

Johnny_673

I love the prices, I believe they are very fair. Loving it!
1

LizBlackDog

blargh guess what idiot forgot to spend her points :/
1

FireFlea

Omg the stuff is actually rather adorable! D:
0

Oasis

The prices for these are fantastic! Now,if only the staff would reconsider the prices on the Pirate and Islander stuff.
0

Ferinsy

Those prices <3
0

Ringo

Yes! I am quite pleased with the prices. :) A lot of those prices are less than what they were in shop search. I can afford a few more weapons now! ;)
0

Stellar

Thanks @Amber, I feel silly now!
0

HYPEBEAST

I hope we'll see Epicon prizes in the Antique Shop at some point.
2

Stiles

@Timeless Ah okay I get that then, now :) Thanks for the answer!
1

Immortal

@Stiles - Yep, Malice is a weapon ^^

Thanks for adding the RD items to the Antique Shop! /goes to explore the possibilities
0

Amber

@Wolf_Spirit You can’t really compare the two (pirate vs islander and reading drive) because they were vastly different events. The points for each were also very different, like pirate vs islanders had such a large gap between items (some at 10 points some at like 400 some at like 1000) while Reading Drive were much closer together. We aren’t going to go back and chance islander vs pirate items. :)
@Stellar You need to click the names after direct to collection, like book or foods. :D
0

Koi

This is awesome! It definitely makes some of the items more obtainable.
0

Sopheroo

Didn't we have like 2 or 3 warnings?

Also, for people still complaining at the islanders/pirates point being expensive, it was a extremely tedious plot, and no matter how hard you worked, you could only buy from one of the two shops, not both.
0

Stiles

Man am I glad I don't want anything above the 13mill line. I'm curious why the Malice is so much? Is it a weapon? I'm actually really happy that all the things I want will be obtainable sometime in the future!! :)
0

Nefarian

Neat! I bought myself a Rex Beanbag!
0

Carpathia

Wow, a lot of the prices are a lot cheaper than I expected, especially Malice! I need so many wears that I'll probably start buying them slowly. I haven't even touched the Pirate and Islander sections yet.
0

StarShadow

I was hoping to see a news post about Alegarten starting since it only runs for 6 days. Can't wait to see the new wearables.
2

Schwarzflug

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....
I totally forgot about that!!! :(
0

Mike

@Wolf_Spirit
those prices should be extraordinarily high, they're much rarer items and they were harder to get to begin with. If people want something they can save up for it. There's not an item in there that can't be saved up for, that's the point of the shop. If someone wanting an SoSS wants to save 3b, someone wanting books can save the 50-100m or however much it ended up.
1

Mike

Firstly, I'd like to say pretty well done on the pricing, that's pretty reasonable BUT, I think MUCH more consideration should be taken of current market prices. This shop is meant to be a last resort when there are no more of an item to be found for sale, or when people are trying to make significantly more than a fair profit hoarding up copies. This shop is effectively a price ceiling. This shop means those prices are the highest these items will ever be worth again. That needs to be considered more, clearly. Most of these items were readily available and there was clearly tens of thousands of RD points waiting to be used up still. There's not much reason any items really should have ended up under current market value. Overall it's a good job though, people have been dying for this, I'm not exactly sure why but meh.

Also to the people complaining because some people forgot or didn't know etc about their existing points being deleted. That's entirely on them, not staff and that's that.
0

Stellar

When I click Direct to collections it just adds Direct to Collections: to the url but nothing on the page changes. I'm sort of new-ish to Subeta though so I'm not sure what was actually supposed to happen instead, but I assume not that.
0

Wolf_Spirit

Might get mixed feelings about this from people, especially if people have bought stuff from the Islander/Pirate shops but I do think that prices should be modified based on what the RD prices are. The twain just does not meet. The RD prices are realistic whereas the other shops aren't.

For people who have bought from the other shops, maybe they could be given 14 days to make a ticket, Syaff can check and see if that item did come from the Islander/Pirate Antique shops and they could get a refund for the difference between prices, or they could be given a full refund and the item deleted from the account so they can buy anew whatever item(s) they were refunded.

Just a thought because as it stands right now, the original two shops' prices are extraordinarily high
0

Blizzard

Prices are realistic however I'm not sure if the sP sink is going to work at the level which is needed for this economy D:
0

Inknote

Just wish I hadn't double-bought a Takra when I was clearing out my RD points accidently :c then I wouldn't have to save for my last item!!

Wolf_Spirit

Wow...realistic prices!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!! :D
1

dotSei

Looks like it's time for me to start saving for those battle items. -weeps-
0

Serena922003

oh boy, and the prices make this VERY tempting. Thank you. :D **very excited!!!*
0

SYLVAN

Oh goodness yes, now I can realistically save up for the weapons. THANK YOU!
0

Marianne

I hope you'll never do a reading drive again - I sure wasted a lot of effort and sP, only to be forced to buy stuff I didn't want and then see items at cutthroat prices for everyone later :(.
I know, nobody forced me, but still...
2

Hellbent

They're so much more affordable than the pirate/islander items, thank you!
2

SCIENCE

Damn!!!! I haven't been on a huge amount and managed SOMEHOW to miss every post about this, and of course I didn't check back either -.-'
I'm such an idiot. Ohhh today is a sad day for me, someone plz, hold me while I cri ;-;
0

War

So many good things!
0

Balloon

Oh, any chance there will be a Direct to Collection tab for the trading card?
0

Balloon

@Hoshi I know, right?? Especially the Wrinkle in Time and Wind in the Willows items... both books are very special to me :) I may have to start a book gallery just for these things XD
0

Darkrai

Staff has been saying no more Reading Drives for awhile now, so no there will never be another one (we could have other types of item drives but apparently with a different prize pool)
2

FLUX

Wow, I'm impressed with how good the prices are! Especially for the weapons, people have been selling Soma and ROTL for pretty crazy prices the past year and they're such staple battles items. Really nice to see that a lot more battlers can pick some stuff up for a decent price now :)

I'm definitely going to drop some sP in here later, the GOT standards are calling to me.
1

Balloon

yes yes yes yes yes yes *explodes*
0

Francine

These prices are great! Still can't afford everything I want, but at least they're very fair.
2

usagi

Very reasonably priced stuff! :D

Look at dem book belts. T__T /sobs
0

Ninja

You know you're just a bit daft when you actually MAKE a sticky note and leave it NEXT to your computer to remind yourself to spend your RD points... and you still forget lol. XD
3

Mythology

@Salmonking

Actually, I hope they just do another Epicon event; I think that would be way more fun, and allow for new prizes and old prizes to be gained.
0

Taters

Guys...they reminded us like three times. I even had surgery a week ago and was only on two short times after, and I knew about it. It aint hard to just look through the last three news pages/follow the deadline thread run by amazing users. Cant blame sub for not telling us when they clearly did.
7

Salmonking

YESSS now I can finally get some of the stuff I've been eyeing for ages! I hope EPICon is next...

not bad! now I can grab the Reviver :D

HYPEBEAST

I just love the prices!

HYPEBEAST

I just love the prices!
0

TheGapingMawOfDoom

Welp, now I have to scour some guides to see if any of the tier 5 stuff is worth it for a soon-to-be tier 6 pet.
0

Hoshi

Oh no, I hate you guys, I just hate you guys. All these actually affordable literary reference items - especially to stuff I read as a kid? You can't do this to a dumb soppy booknerd like me, I'm gonna cry.

good night sweet vault balance
5

Elysium

Oh this is fantastic! I can finally afford those wonderful items at that price, please do not raise them!
0

heartfelt

OH GOD i had several hundred points left because i completely forgot i am so mad right now hnngg
5

Juvenile

These prices are much more reasonable! Sad we aren't doing more reading drives, but glad to finally be able to get my hands on some of these items!
0

lovecraft

I really wish I had paid more attention to the news when this was announced. I think I had some Reading Drive points (not many, but a few). Oh well...not gonna dwell. My loss. I should pay more attention and actually use things I have instead of hoarding them. LOL
0

Ewok

I'm surprised the prices are so reasonable! Really hyped now because beanbag collection completion is looking a bit more reasonable now.
0

techn0witch

Kind of wish the Cuirass and the Poniard of the Literati were wearable. :c

Past that, I have such a mighty need for so much of this stuff. ;u;
3

Hannah66665

I agree there should have been at least one more heads up/warning that the shop was closing. I liked someones suggestion about sending a newsletter. Some people don't see every news post or they go weeks without logging on. Glad I was able to get my points all spent though.
10

Saber_Lily

a warning to use our remaining points would have been nice
3

bulleta

Truth Serum

61,875,000 sP

I'm not gonna cry... *crying*
4

Ziva

So... @Amber does this mean we will never have a reading drive again?
1

itsdash

nice face on that avatar there @SubetaTeam
2

Johniarty

Just a question! This means there'll be no more reading drives, right?
0

Amber

@janine Yep! Active pet for food and books. :)
0

janine

@Bathory Thanks. That just worked for me as well.

@Amber, the direct to collection for books goes to the active pet, yes?
0

Cyndaquil

Maybe next time, the store that's being removed should be on the side of the news page with the recycle beast and potion lottery with "This shop is closing in X days, if you have any points use them up soon" or something. A news post is good, but there's some people who don't check the news every time something pops up and important stuff ends up being lost under the pet spotlight, new items, other stuff leaving, and everything else.
15

Bathory

@janine ok this was odd i clicked the box of one of my items to readd it and it added a double but all my boxes came back lol
0

Straywillow

Thank you @Amber.. that worked. Still too expensive for me but perhaps some will enjoy the shop :)
1

Gholgolaz

oh yes oh yes oh yes!!!! something to work for!
0

Amber

@Straywillow You have to click the links after the words direct-to-collection. :) Like click "food" or "book"
0

Bathory

@janine yes i am its frustrating me so much!
0

Straywillow

So far looks like another millionaire shop to me of course no matter what I do.. it won't allow me into the "direct to collections" part *shrugs*
0

VeeJayHedgehog

All those prettiful standards will be mine...SOON!
*aggressively hoards all the sP*
3

Amber

@Speiro I'll touch base on that with Rah!
2

Speiro

@Amber - Is the shopfront on the map still going to get a sign? I brought it up when the Antique Shop first opened, and I think Rah or someone said there were plans, but I see it's still blank.
1

janine

Is anyone else having problems with the boxes around wishlist items?
0

Snowflake

i just went into shop to check how much things cost lol
0

Masquerade

I love the prices some of these items were way out of my price range before.
0

Taters

Hey I mean compared to the pirate and islander items at like 70mil a piece, these seem at least sort of reasonable...not like Ill buy them there.
0

HopefulNebula

I just took like 20 million sP out of the economy. I hope you're happy. ;) (I know I am...)
3

Glint

These prices are so much more reasonable. Is there any plan to revisit the prices of the islanders/pirates items?
5

Life

@Amber CENTROPOLIS thank you!
0

Amber

@Life There is a link in the news post! It’s also on the Centropolis map next to the SBQ. :)
1

Neverfell

OH, damn. I didn't know about this at all. (goodbye goodly stock of points - I haven't got anything like 20mil in sp)
0

Amber

@sakura If you use an item in the direct to collection tab, like one of the foods, then yes it will go to your main pet. You have to buy it from the actual shop (so it goes into your inventory) if you want the wearable. :)
0

Julie

There goes my Natasha. Lol.
1

Krystal

Hideous Damp Statue:
20k on Shop Search
275k in Antique Shop

Seems legit...
10

Life

Thanks!
Is there a direct link to the Antique Shop somewhere, that I'm missing?
Very excited that I'll be able to get a Reviver of the Lion at some point now :)
2

CMYK

Malice
123,750,000 sP

*SAVES AGGRESSIVELY* >:A
5

Tserel

These prices seem pretty reasonable considering how ridiculous it was to get RD points anyway.
8

Nicholas

I can't stop laughing at some of the official prices on the hover.

Also no newsletter to warn hiatus users makes me really sad. :(
41

Nocere

Phew! Can read the prices now! Thanks for the fix!
0

nier

i am ok with this!! only 75k more per point than the rate that they were being sold at. THAT MALICE WILL BE MINE SOON.
1

Rocketlauncher

Reading is Fun! Folder
Official Price: 75,625,000,000

Woah? O_o
10

Piplup

Malice
34,031,250,000,000 sP
My entire account isn't even worth that much lol
14

sakura

With items in the "Direct To Collections" do the food/books still automatically get used by your active pet even if they're also wearables?
0

Iridescent

That's too funny! I went to the Antique Shop and saw all the stuff before the news post! xD Ya'll sure got it in there fast!
0

Nocere

The prices are so high they run together >.<.
0

Kevin

Reviver Of The Lion

61,875,000 sP
