A bit of constructive feedback:
I know these aren't meant to be crystals exactly but the curving of these seems strange when the shading would suggest more crstallographic planes than curves. Also the placement seems a little off to me.
Their idea is still good though and they remind me of Ioun Stones from d&d and the description seems to joke about it. Probably pick up for a TC.
For now I grabbed that book c:
