Antique Shop: Steele Excavations Prizes
The prizes from the Steele Excavations event have been added to the Antique Shop!
For those of you new to how the Antique Shop works, you can buy items from the event tabs or from the direct to collection tabs. If you buy them from event tabs, you are buying the item for full price and the item goes to your inventory. If you buy them from the direct to collection tabs, you are buying them at a discounted price and they are added to the correct collection.

Stuff that has been sat in my shop for years suddenly sold because it was lower than these prices. Good stuff - nobody wanted it for so long, and now still nobody wants it but they're willing to pay for it :')

Genetech SecondSkin V.2 got very deflated after the wardrobe skin update. It's probably not worth that much. I've seen it go for as low as 100m (and it's been probably lower) and less and less people are interested in it. I get that it's a top tier prize but unless all the other prizes are worth THAT much then it's something we can agree.
Godly weapons, for sure, are worth about >500m. But staff also knows how many are in circulation (some aren't exactly in circulation) and that's a factor that limits the price range too.
And, also, that's why it takes SO long to add stuff to the Antique Shop. They give us time to buy whatever we can at the best agreed price (also monitoring the prices so that the AS prices aren't way too off from the actual market value) and sell for as much as we can. Then, when things get added to the antique shop, they'll be capped at that price, and there's that. For sure, you can find a WoK for less than 3.75bi but you won't find it for more than that. At least not someone buying.
IMO, limiting factors are great when they are set correctly and efficiently. It's a price cap. But I agree that setting a cap for 1/5 of the market value isn't very smart.

"Can, maybe, possibly sell for X" does not equal "worth it" outside of a very small group of people. Dominantly consisting of people that want to sell it for more.

I can tell you that Cracked Saheric Mosaic Tile Pieces sold for 750mil in very rare unlikely to be antique shopped items (I would argue the price was probably even closer to 1.5bil)
Gilded Bhakoru Headdress was 250mil, and hadn't sold in a long time
Saheric Encased Scroll was priceless, if you didn't win one, you had very few chances to even buy one.
I thought that Aabe Havij was also selling at a very high price, but maybe not since there are 3 on search for right now.
Stone griffin Plushie was missing for something like 12/20 of the top 20 plushie collectors
I didn't even know divine peacock was an item.
That leaves the maze artifact and the jeweled box which appear to have been buyable on the shop search already.
That means the price of those 3-5 extremely rare items was brought down to 50mil, for the sake of 2-3 items that were already obtainable on the shop search.
The problem with the Antique shop is also that it puts a cap on the price you can sell these things for. You look at god weapons like Wand of the phoenix which are getting offers of 15bil rejected, while SoSS and Wrath, previously two of the 3 most sought after god weapons are now capped at 3.75bil (The #1 being Kwand, and the #4 being Sandreaver/WoTP). So the people that paid hundreds of millions of sP are out that investment permanently, with no chance of it recovering.

@THESOVEREIGN Yes, some of the top tier prizes sold for a lot. Not all of them, though. And we have to balance a price that fits for the whole range. It’s just one of those plots that since 6-7 items go out from each tier, some things will be worth the price while others won’t. Just like some of the items from the lower tiers went for a lot while others were barely 100k in user shops. Since they all went out on the same tier, they need to be the same price since they were all achieved for the same effort. The Morostide Plot with Jaxon and Ian prizes will be the same way when we eventually get those back.
I sold some of those high end prizes to people for 400-750mil+

These are the types of items that would make great sP sinks at hundreds of millions of sP, and it seems like they were all just frittered away.
And I say this as someone who literally lost nothing because I already sold all of this stuff, but I still hate to see people get screwed over by this stuff.
For future releases: Prototype limb has been sold for ~1.4bil in the last 4 months. Second skin should easily be 1bil+ . Shield of True Love while for a long time was rotting away on the trades, has disappeared for a couple years now. Just a heads up on what some of these likely soon to be antiqued items should probably be valued at.

@Viking oh i was joking some (It was hard to type on my phone haha) BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN PING’D MANY TIMES ABOUT THAT ONE BOOK FROM THE PRIZES. but mostly I don’t want to put the achievement prizes also in the antique shop so that it doesn’t confuse between prizes from actual plots and achievements. @Amber oh that's not what I meant to say! The achievement prizes are like, even more sought after since they have certain usefulness to them. (if the axe and the blade tip could be made a wearable I would buy them at 1b each without a doubt) These were wears "anyone" could obtain (please focus on the slight irony that not everyone or anyone at the time could actually obtain) by taking part on the plot, but the achievements only certain battlers could put their hands on them or the quickest ppl who could complete the puzzles quick enough (can't recall or research if theres prizes to the 50 first who did each puzzle or not but here it goes anyway)
I actually got really excited thinking there might be a Sandreaver (or Sandreaver components) in the shop for 3.5b. No such luck. :c

@Romanyinu Battle prizes don't get added to the antique shop! How those items get rereleased (if they ever do) is up to the BAs!

I'm super curious to know how much sP this addition to the antique shop has taken out of the economy :D I bet it's a big and fast sP sink right now... I and many others have been waiting on these items!

@Sorcerer The way that plot worked, depending on how far you made it you got assigned points/a tier for how well you did. Say you got to tier 2, you got all the items from tier 1 and 2. Prizes from the same tier are the same price in the shop, which is why the top prizes are all 50mil in the shop :)

I would buy every single secondskin that comes on the market for 100mil. I would easily pay 250mil, and would consider paying more. I would be looking to sell at 1.5bil. Only reason my offer would be that low, is that that plot hasn't been antiqued yet, meaning there is considerable risk. If that plot gets antiqued, and those 3 weapons aren't in the shop, my offer would instantly climb much much higher (sell price would stay the same.).
Any item on the site that is less than 30 of a kind, and truly restricted, should be 500mil minimum. sP is so devalued and truly rare restricted number items are extremely hard to come by
When you look at what people would pay for random junk rare items 4-5 years ago that people would pay 250-500mil, and compare it to inflation of CSC, Random rare items should be 1.25bil-2.5bil. Which is at least part of the reason why OG gods don't even sell for 15bil offers. I think the only thing that really keeps that down is the threat of 80-95% devaluations through massive crystal shop restocks, Antique shop, ect.
The ultra rare impossibile to find book and plushie have been turned into under 5$ cash shop bargains.
