Love the dolls, and I'm amazed how large Serpenth's are.

@Amber There are snakelike minions though? Also I thought I've seen snakelike animals in site art, but maybe I'm imagining things. I realize I said "species" trying to be unspecific and forgot I was on a pet site where species mean pet type. Not what I meant, sorry. :P I am sure the writers could be creative enough to use something else than that specific line if they are actually going to take that advice. There's lots of ways to use that method.

I get the feeling when a cool worldbuilding thing is revealed and it has some weird misinformation that isn't addressed, it does kind of poke holes in the fantasy world it is trying to create. It breaks you out of the immersion. It's not a big deal, but still a valid criticism I think. At least something to keep in mind for the writers for the future, not something to ignore (especially since serpenths have had a lot of snake myth problems before). To solve it without retconning it it would be simple to say "unlike similar snake species, serpenths have a unique unhinging jaw" or something along those lines.

Omg people getting so technical. I own a snake and I honestly don't care about the whole detached jaw thing in the article??? Like, it's a snake with wings. SERPENTH DOES WHAT IT WANTS. SERPENTH DONT GIVE A SHIT.

@Amber The actual mechanism by which a real snake's jaw separates in front to allow large prey to pass through is just too interesting, both in terms of anatomy and evolution, to go with the false detached jaw myth yet again.
I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed to see an enduring myth showing up even on a pet site. It shows a lack of research. Or do Torrents have a 3-second memory span? Is every Lasirus blind and fond of flying into nice hairdos? Is it impossible to educate an old Ruffie? Does a female Zasaba eat the male?

Adding wings (and copious amounts of hair) to a snake is creative license. Including that detaching jaw detail isn't some clever, unique thing that makes Subeta's snake special. It's a common misconception about snakes that this article is now helping to perpetuate. All it really shows is a lack of sufficient research.

I'm going to be that person now, but I think the word you're supposed to use in place of 'defend' is 'fend'!

@thoughtful real snakes, sure. but i don't think real snakes have wings (that would be terrifying)

"One of the enduring myths about snake feeding mechanisms is the idea that the jaws detach," explained Patrick T. Gregory, a biology professor at the University of Victoria. "In fact, they stay connected all the time." -livescience

Whee, I was wondering when we'd get the next Subetapedia pet article, I love seeing them tbh.. I'm waiting on them most for Kanis and Hikei right now though. x_x Someday hopefully...

I still need to complete my Archan collection, but I keep getting most of the commons dolls from the other pets... :(
Ah, well... If I get a few of these, I might trade 'em for some of the Archans.

"Due to their detaching lower jaws,"
i'm trying so hard to remember that serpenths =/= Real Sneks but
/flails hands around, nooooooo
I really loved this though, I didn't realize serpenths were so biiiig, and I really love these lifelike dolls! Wonderful job!

YESDUH @Amber or since there are two other onsite shoulder sneks I would've loved to see it wrapped around a leg and around the opposite arm - just to showcase the sheer size of these snakelets o
Who doesn't love baby snakes ?
Who doesn't love baby snakes ?

I love this. "You guys gave it a cutesy face!"....."They eat their siblings and young" This...this pleases me. yesssss. Perhaps I need a serpenth after all, despite the toupee.

I'm glad they have an article now and the doll looks good, just wish it were a different pose

These are very nice lifelike dolls! ♥️ I think my favorite thing about the Subetapedia articles are the size comparisons. I think I need to get me one of these giant snakes.

When you think Subeta is just a cute and innocent pet site: "Young serpenths can be cannibalistic to their siblings (...)"

So no touchy tha wings... do they like their manes ruffled? (typo in the second chapter, site should be sight)

omg the dolls are so cute, i want all of them ; o; esp the common and the silver o (also one tiny error in the entry? "a full-grown serpenth is quite a site to behold" isn't quite right)

Jeez I didn't realize they were so big!
Side note I can't wait until we get an article about Antlephores.

Oh man so glad these aren't more beanbags/plushies I am dying trying to collect those. These are cute though!
