Hydrus Escalade Revamp!
Me hydrus escalade child has received a little refreshment to him look. Remember to keep your eyes open for me on them ocean shore, and receive me blessing in return for fetching me a few trinkets.

The fur looks really AMAZING! I also love the detail on the kelp and shells.
Improvements suggested that I agree with are:
-Change eye color to blue
-Make the pink on tentacles paler/less pink
-Possibly change the tentacle color
-Make the face less flat (only a few small tweaks would be needed)
Overall the revamp is fantastic and the artist did a wonderful job! Thank you for updating more of the older site art - always much appreciated! <3

i kinda wish the whole thing matched with the color of tentacles...i like the seashells though

It's not my favorite revamp, but it is the direction Hydrus pets have been going in lately, so meh.

While I love the revamp giving more "realistic" detail and vibrant color and actually like the contrast of the tentacles to body color, I do think the revamp of the face/horns makes it look a bit like a Warador now. And looking back at the old version, that one did, too a little bit and I just never could put my finger on what looked "off" with it.

I think the tentacles should match color, they look odd white (to be fair, on the old one as well, I'd just never seen one as I am not a huge fan of either escalades or the hydrus color). BUT, I do think that it would look better if the tentacles matched. ^_^"

Nice. But tentacle colors don't fit imo.
There are a few other Hydrus peta which I feel need a few tweaks too(can't rememmber which exactly might have ti revisit the colors.
I hope Hydrus Serphent doesn't get touched(it's alrdy perfect to me lol)

loving the new palette, style and the small design changes but im really on the border with the face and those rounded claws + horns, it kind of loses a dangerous edge to its look with the rounded edges.

I don't know about this guy. The face looks weird.. kind of flat. I also find the tentacle rather large and I much prefer the colours on the old tentacles. You can barely see the blue on the new version.

I love this revamp. But reading through comments, I guess I didn't realize that the eye colors had been changing. I might cry when they update the hydrus pherret. His light, light blue eyes are one of the big factors in my love for him. D:

I used to have the old hydrus escalade as a pet and I loved it back then, but I didn't have that many pet slots at the time and changed their breed and colour later on. Mixed feelings now seeing this revamp, since it sort of drives home that the escalade is a different pet from what it was back then. I'm glad for those who enjoy this version, but I can't help seeing teenage mutant ninja turtles in that face, and while that series was part of my childhood, I really wanted the escalade to not resemble anything else. Please don't take this as criticism against the art, it's more like I'm attached to something that's already gone ^^

Hm, this new one's a lot more red and contrasts too much to be bearable imo. I think the coloring of the tentacles should've remained subtle rather than a rather cartoonish pink that they are now, the blue highlights are barely noticeable and clash horribly with the redder browns of the fur, shells, face, as does the seaweed. Overall not bad but I prefer the more washed out tones of the original.

@Laurey It's definitely a little bit darker purple than the purplish blue they have been using on the revamps of hydrus pets. I think it might be due to the smaller eyes than some of the other pets though, as the Mahar also has the darker purple look. I was just saying that the sky blue looks better more than the purple for hydrus, just my opinion though ^^

I agree the nose looks a bit flat compared to the old version, and I think the blue eyes should have stayed but the rest is fan-freaking-tastic. Love the detail on the booty shells!
