Fishing: New Prizes!

@Evy So there are a few that got moved out of the pool at some point that I'm going to be reintroducing soon! The prizes at the moment are hardcoded with their itemids which is very annoying and means Ariel can't add new prizes/move things to different tiers. I'm going to work on it this weekend to make it so we can add things easily so we can go back and add in old stuff like that! :)

Sorry for bothing you, but I got curious. :D I went searching all the items that the Fishing game gives out, and found these two:
They are both really old items, with 5 or less for sale. I found a news link from 2005 saying the Feesch got retired, see here. Are both of those retired, or still obtainable from fishing?
And by top prize, do you mean getting close, or actually finding the treasure? Aka are all items obtainable by not getting the treasure, but depending on how close you are, and is the actual treasure something completely different (besides getting the achievement)? I mean, if you're allowed to clarify all that? :P

Are the guidance sentences anyhow related to progress on the map or just fooling us? How can "you are getting very close" turn into "you were nowhere near it"?
I forgot this was a game until this News post. Just like real fishing, toss it in, pull it out and just daydream in between, lol. Glad there is an hour cool down.....
Oh the irony, only seconds after making that post it was time to fish and yeap, that's what I got LMFAO!

10 years on subeta and i still dont have the achievement going with this game ........... that says enough on how bad i am at this game isnt it ???? i just hate fishing anyway !!!!

Blargh, agree with jensen. Can we at least get him to update his messages so he stops BLATANTLY LYING about whether we're actually close or not?

I used your method for the very first time I played it in a while, and I was on the left corner for the first one, then I went to the bottom right, he said I was closer, and I got closer and closer and almost got the best fishing spot. This is what I got:

here's what i do personally.
click the top left corner. click the top right corner next. if it says you're getting closer = it's on the right half of the map. if it's says you were closer before = it's on the left half of the map. next click on the bottom right corner. "you're getting closer" = bottom half of the map. "you were closer before" = top half of the map. then combine the answers you got to determine which quarter of the map you're looking for and use your last click to random guess.

At least the game itself doesn't take very long to play. Some random clicking in hopes of getting lucky is better than putting in a bunch of time and effort and still being disappointed.

I've never found a working strategy for fishing either. I've resigned myself to floating on the water, pretending to be a buoy, and hoping I drift over the prize.*

Does anyone have a good strategy for Fishing? My method: try a corner, then the diagonal corner, then a third corner a little nearer to whichever he said was better, then another guess ... and almost every single time "You were nowhere near it!"
