I love the cutesy skins but I have to agree with @Bundy that they are meant to be a serious thing. But it is meant to be fun as well. Maybe some ultra cutesy ones (please NOT all pink!!) for sale at Louis' or for the achievements would be awesome.
I found the most interesting poll to be the age one. That over 51's number is higher than below age 18. I'm 50. Been on here since my 30's. Always loved that it was geared to a more adult audience in a careful way. ♥

Also, I don't know... maybe it's just me, but I'm not really crazy about the idea of having cutesy innocent virus strains? I think maybe it'd be nice to add some cuter skins to the list of rewards for completing Louis' shop related achievements in the future maybe (or maybe making them purchasable using candy hearts even?), but to make viruses cute and innocent and awwww-worthy just sort of misses the point IMO. I get that they've technically always existed (Love Bug, Pinkie Patch, etc.) but those tend to be my least favorite types. I mean... the lore behind Survival is kind of serious. People died, didn't they? There's a Survivor's Memorial where we pay tribute. I like that the zombie side of Survival sort of balances out the saccharine side that's full of candy hearts and flowers and Louis L'Amour. I like that it feels like it has some weight to it... like I'm actually progressing along with an actual virus that could do actual harm to a person. And last I checked there is no virus or illness or disease in reality that makes you super cute and desirable to be around. They suck. They're no fun. Sometimes you see nothing at all, but they still suck for the person who has them. I like that people see zombie strains and recoil in horror or disgust. Lord knows if I saw a zombie walking around in real life, I'd do the same...
I get that everyone's entitled to their own opinions, and I respect that. But to me it's just missing the point. It blends the two sides of Survival too much, and I think the duality of it is what I love the most. There's something for the people who enjoy the cute love-y side of it, and there's something for those of us who don't... people who enjoy both sides equally get to enjoy both separately, and I suppose we luck out the most. My fiance doesn't understand the whole zombie thing, so he skips it entirely. I love it, and I go for the neatest looking gory strains that I can generally (Blistered Hearts was a big favorite, as was last year's Love Sucks!) If he wanted to do alchemy he'd just pick a strain and follow through with it, and either remove it when it was finished to save for later, or cover it up with the dozens and dozens of items that're capable of doing that. It's really not a big deal now that the skins are removable and savable for later.
That being said, I definitely DO support the idea of some purchasable (or reward-related) skins coming from Louis L'Amour... or having some more cutesy ones added to the zapper come Morostide time. And maybe it's just me, but I also kind of wish strains could be worn at any stage after we obtain them? I get that that'd amount to us having a crap ton of skins... but I LOVED Fevermore's progression last year until I saw the end result. And I loved Buzzkill's this year until I wound up looking like a piece of burnt up sourdough bread. It'd be neat to be able to wear our strains at the stage we wanted. It may also make it easier to work some of them into HA designs where clothing becomes near-impossible to wear. Just a thought!

Didn't really have my real choice for louis or skitters, because i'm fine with their designs, and I prefer skitters for the color schemes but I don't tend to like the torn/bloody/gore items, whereas i like the designs of louis's stuff but am not a big fan of pink and pastels..
My favorite strains are the ones which are spoopy, but have a certain amount of elegance too, like Clusterflux. My least favorite are the ones which change the body silhouette so much that they can't be dressed, like Bright Bite, and the "pretty" one tends to be hit-or-miss for me. This has been a great year for design that's spoopy but usable: The Vapors is a very original take on "zombie", Grosseries is pretty without hitting a note that strikes me as "cutesy" or "twee", and Lobotomeat is a lot of fun. I think trying to make a virus where the primary emphasis was on every stage being "pretty" would get you a super dull progression. Anybody who seriously can't stand being, like, in a cocoon for 14 hours before becoming a fluffy pink moth can just stick a background OVER their HA, a Genetech Secondskin and/or some overlays over that, and dress up as though they aren't infected at all.

I'm a little surprised at how much of the playerbase is about my age, but at the same time not really because we did come in at a time pet sites were huge.

@Archmage Your porcelain doll (without the rot) idea is pretty cool. The crystal idea that I had would be kinda like Crackhead, only with crystals, and possibly a small explosion into many crystals at the end.

I think these frivolous polls are much better than the serious ones we've had in the past e.g. voting on revamps. From what I remember the majority always voted for the shiny new option and the minority had to shout louder as they got buried in the numbers. For decisions that affect the site, discussions are better, and we had discussions about them regardless so no need for polls which tend to have foregone conclusions.
These polls are getting people talking about lore and have already lead to an NPC getting a new pet which is great! It bolsters the community and world building aspect which is something Subeta always needs.

Said it in the feedback thread and I'll say it here: you're on a pg13 site, you don't GET trigger warnings when we have things like roadkill pets, an entire Bloodred pet color, the ole' fetus pops and more. The point is not what zombie ideas are had, the point is how much whining is happening without personal responsibility for getting a skin so you can access a feature whether you like the skin or not.

That saying, I would love to see some "fun" ones too. like my friend @Valiska said, a pastry, cake or cookie could be a lot of fun. Another fun kind I think, would be something from each land. Maybe a sweetheart type, and an anti sweetheart type (like motorbike "gang" tough looking maybe?)

@Valiska - In that case, you're probably never going to access the Alchemist. Take the least bad option or leave it. It's not like you're stuck with the skin 24/7 like we used to; just take off the darn skin when you aren't seeing him.

You know full well there are "pretty strains" available and yet you're refusing to take any of them because they "aren't pretty enough" and then complain about not being able to do alchemy? I can understand if we were still in the Dark Ages when we were stuck with our zombie skins (I had Bindi Bite for years, lol) but we literally have been able to take them off for the past few years so I don't know why unlocking a skin is such an issue for you. So either suck it up and get one (1) skin that you find tolerable or just live without alchemy.

@Jotaro I have considered Love Bug because it looks kinda like Mewberty (Star Vs the Forces of Evil), and I don't think I've seen Pinkie Patch before. Freckle Fever looks too much like somthing I'd see at my work, lol, I work in a hospital. (This may be why I don't do well with gore and body horror because it just makes me think about how much that must hurt and plus I get on Subeta to get away from tumors and traumas haha.)
But @Raven did this great HA with a cookie body mod and I started thinking of things that I would actually consider fun to go through instead of "is it tame enough to be bearable?" and I thought a virus that turns you into a beautiful sparkling crystal person, or a virus that turns you into a scrumptious looking pastry/cake/cookie, would actually be super fun for people like me.
But @Raven did this great HA with a cookie body mod and I started thinking of things that I would actually consider fun to go through instead of "is it tame enough to be bearable?" and I thought a virus that turns you into a beautiful sparkling crystal person, or a virus that turns you into a scrumptious looking pastry/cake/cookie, would actually be super fun for people like me.
For the virus strain, I'd like more animal inspired ones, like fevermore. Maybe a rat or evil cat virus. Or some Lovecraft inspired stuff.
Or different skin materials that can look pretty, like Crack Head. Something like evil porcelain doll (but not rotten) would be cool.
I'd also love to get a japanese ghost inspired virus/skin.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's getting tripped up on the Louis / Skitters poll. I'm not voting out of fear that either one or the other might get removed lol ;A; Also I like being able to pay for items in both sP and holiday currency. Heck, I would love it if there were Skitters equivalents for all holidays and events. Add that option to your polls 8)
As an average joe, I can verify that I love voting on pointless online polls. I think someone is underestimating how much people love putting their input in on inane ideas. Have a look at any twitter poll or even post that is like "like for this, retweet for that". People will do it. Subject matter rarely deters this. People like to have fun.

I think for the Louis or Skitters poll there should have been an option for liking both designs/their items. With the way the poll is going it doesn’t seem one is particularly favoured over the other. I wonder if adding a neutral/liking both sort of option would show that maybe the reason the results so far seem so squarely in the middle is because some people don’t genuinely prefer one of those characters.
By the way. I think the shape of the face of somebody, make sense wich kind of hair will fit. When I have shaved my head, my face is much nicer than with all the annoying curls.
I don't understanding why people with beautiful straight hair wants curls. I have curls and it's onley annoing to have got this... I have always wish to have got straight hair. So I have voted for the hair of Som. But the hair I love the most is from Jaden, the shop keeper from Get Mugget. She is not in the polls, but I have adored always her hair!
