:/ It would have been kind of nice to have the new price listed in the news post. I thought it was 100CSC because of the hover, which is a decent price. I'm not really interested in paying 250CSC for items I only need for TCs.

YES~ I always prefer being able to just buy what I want, instead of gambling away money & getting a whole lot of garbage instead. I have no luck at that sort of crap and don't even bother with them any more. :p This is so much better!

I get that the price changed for the option to choose your item, but 250 seems kind of expensive for one item when many are pretty old and kind of outdated tbh

Cache for some reason hasn't cleared for the price -- it is indeed 250 csc. You are getting the luxury of choosing what item you want instead of opening boxes and hoping for the best. When it was random, it didn't even have all items included!
I'm gonna guess the pricing is a fluke because these accessories are the same price as a boutique wig.

The downside to this for me is that the trunk's randomness caused the price of the wearables to go down on the secondary market, at least a little. I don't know what's going to control the inflation of these items now >>

The choose option is a very welcome change, but yikes at another price bump. It's now more than a Carnival Gift Cart or a Fantine Gift Box. If it's going to cost 250csc, we might as well get another random piece or two. The feral trunk originally costs 50csc.
Custom content will always cost more than site based content or else there would be not much incentive to buy site based content if you could make something exactly as you want it for the same price.

Or to put it more concisely: the price of the trunk has gone up. The price of the items you get from the trunk has lowered.
I count about 280 items when you actually open the trunk, and probably a solid third to half of those are "less desirable" ones. Yes, the price has increased, but you'll spend so much less CSC trying to get a specific wanted item from this now, and you won't fill up your inventory with these trying to get that pair of cat ears you know you want.

Imho, the price is a little steep for one item, especially when the Hustler already does the same thing with retired items. I expect it from the Hustler, not from something that - albeit randomly and rarely - gets updated with new items.

This trunk has been around for a really long time, probably longer than either of us has been on Subeta, and it's been random since the beginning, with really skewed drop rates. The items that are under 1M, or under 5M, will probably stay there for a long time, because it is going to take a while for all of the copies that are already out there to end up with people who really truly want them. The market for neon-coloured scale tails and unnaturally coloured koala bears is pretty small. The head tentacles and forehead ridges are useful primarily to Star Wars and Star Trek cosplayers respectively.
The only things that are super expensive (over 25M) and therefore worth buying with CSC rather than sP at this time are primarily cat, fox, wolf, and bunny bits, plus pale base elf ears and a few random things like the hyena, zebra and okapi butts.
If you want to be a bear, a Klingon (I have all the foreheads), a demon with cloven hooves, et cetera, you can do it for well under 25M SP/250 CSC.
Even though only people who really want those items will be getting them out of the boxes now, there's still years' worth of random drops most people didn't want floating around.
What's changed is that it's no longer possible to waste 1000 CSC trying to get a 100M SP set of cat or wolf ears (which does equate to 100M) and FAIL at it. (Which I have done.)
