Also chiming in that all the actual Satanists I've ever met were good and decent folks, and that if you read what they actually have to say, they do make some very good points.
I'm not a Christian, so I honestly don't care whether the entity they worship is considered to be evil by Christians as a whole, and in most versions of the story that I've read, Satan/Lucifer either:
1) had some good points; or
2) got assigned to do a shit job that nobody wanted (punishing evil doers and being the prosecutor at the judgement of souls); or
3) was kinda set up?
But I honestly think these items were making fun of Lovecraftian cult nonsense in fiction, not any religion.

@Ryuu - while my comment about "skyclad" was meant a bit more seriously, the "palatial residence" part was every bit as much of a riff off old horror movies as your comment was, so I'm definitely okay with you. :)
I just think we've been watching different old horror movies. I've seen a lot of the ones where some old rich privileged person is secretly running a cult out of their manor while using magic to aid their nefarious schemes.
Or their not-so-nefarious schemes. I actually kinda liked Lord Summerisle in the original version of "The Wicker Man" and thought the main character, being an extreme asshole, while he might not have deserved the actual ending (no spoilers here), certainly deserved to have something wipe the smug off his face.

No worries, @Abel. I'm not sure where religion popped in, as I didn't read too far back, but I understand defending yourself and your beliefs. All I have ever known and experienced of Satanists were that they were some of the most honorable, upright people I have ever met even with certain naysayers taking jabs at them. It's grating to sit back and just watch people steamroll over your beliefs. Samhain is such a big day for us so I'm used to a great deal of back and forth. I didn't take offense. ♥
And as far as I've looked into thusfar, it seems as goats just get the bumrap because of witch hunters. Because THOSE people were oh so reliable. Cue eyeroll. Have a blessed day.

Throwing my two cents out there, but as a neo-Pagan, we really don't do the animal sacrifice bit either. I'm not sure where Black Phillip hails other than the movie The VVitch, which was more commentary on the ridiculousness of the Puritans from what I saw, it certainly isn't a part of my tradition.
That being said, those Occultist pieces are to die for, and I like a few of the hunter too.
And now I have to buy more CSC. Curses.

Nothin' wrong with witchfinding. I'd like to be a witchfinder. It's just, well, you've got to take it in turns. Today we'll go out witchfinding, an' tomorrow we could hide, an' it'd be the witches' turn to find us...

Can we please have one release that doesn't end up with a dumpster fire in the comments? I like these items. They're pop-culture creepy stuff. It's Halloween. Everybody get a grip.

Quote by @Valiska:
Damn, I'm getting summoned by all the wrong people then... :pconsider: skyclad.
also consider: rituals do not have to be conducted in dank caves. they are often, in fact, conducted in palatial residences.
But, seriously. This was a joke about stereotypical occult horror movies/games/books that have women in sheer nothings; I'm not trying to poke fun of actual people and their customs. Thanks for protecting people like me from people like me. ha.
HOWEVER. Maybe I should be clear that I am totally mocking witch hunters & any and all associated workers; screw those guys and their stupid hats!

YES! I love this aesthetic so much! Definitely getting Bloodborne vibes. I hope we see more items like this! I need them~

@gemajgall what items have been removed? Also, no religion has really been represented here. The occultist set was intentionally designed in a vague Hollywood cult portrayal sort of way. If there’s anything in the set that’s accurate to anything, it’s wholly coincidental!

@gemajgall I'm not sure that I understand. Everywhere you go there are items dripping with crosses. (Life for a Jewish lolita who doesn't wear crosses because Sephardic family of choice was subjected to forced conversion is not exactly easy sometimes?)
I know there is plenty of old Judaica because one of my pet TCs is full of it.
I think they got rid of the old *holidays* because Subeta is supposed to be a different planet with its own lore and traditions.

Who do you like more?
Murderous, leather fetish, gun-toting pilgrims?
OR
People who think string is appropriate attire for preforming rituals in dank caves?

Whose to say I'm not an Occultist posing as a Hunter to save fellow Occultists?
Or maybe I'm an Occultist posing as a Hunter for a more nefarious purpose?
*cackles*

I don't understand why Subeta would remove items that represent some religions but then add in items that represent others. IMHO, all religions should be represented or none. (TBH, I'd love to see more representation of other cultures and beliefs over none, but it should be fair either way.)

Occultist I guess. I need four items from that set, two for the wardrobe and two for a pet tc. Love those goat horns!
