Quest-a-thon: PRIZES part one
Just a reminder of what these prizes entail:
- Completing at least one quest got you: 1 pet slot, the style hoodie (which you can transform!), 5 referral points, 10 loyalty points, and the Questin' Hard achievement. This achievement gives you the forum title “Questing hard, or hardly questing?” which was the most liked suggestion in a past news post because I forgot to do a poll. SORRY EVERYONE.- Originally, we had planned that if you completed 100 quests you would get the Green Sun Sparkle HA border. Due to some programming issues, we’ve changed it to having quested at least three days (no cap on to how many quests just the fact you did some!). So if you fit that, you get the Green Sun Sparkle HA border.
Note: The event says “total completed” and should say “days of quests completed” for some, it's been updated but the first few to get the event have the old messaging (before we sorted out the green sun sparkle HA border issue)
Second note: We're aware of the issue with the achievement being unlocked, and are looking into it.

What was the official day count for the event? For example, alert said I did 17 days (of which I know I did not miss any) yet I see others posting about 27 days, etc. Was the counter still going after the event ended?

I have the green sun sparkle border, but I see in my HA borders there's a blue sun sparkle border for "Participated in a quest-a-thon" - but it says it's locked for me? How can I unlock it?
Also someone else mentioned it, but why is the additional pet slot in "new slot additions" and not "awards and prizes" ?

@LadyMeridius make sure you're logged in on new.subeta.net (easiest way is via the wardrobe) and that should fix it. If it doesn't, submit a ticket and see if the staff can help you figure it out.

Cookies and cache already cleared several times, added the site to my whitelist, logged out and back in. This is the only place I can write anything :(

I went so hard on the quests, kind of disappointed that the prizes would change after the fact, but I was hoping to at least unlock one border but both are locked for me :( at least I got a ton of sP?

If people getting credited extra days means I lose out on the gold border, I'm going to be incredibly upset. I have carpal tunnel and doing 100% of every quest, including Sarah, during an entire Quest-a-thon is physically HARD for me. I had to sacrifice pretty much all other games, hobbies, and even activities on Subeta during the QaT in order to be able to get it. Continuing to do so much before or after would be genuinely impossible for me without injuring myself. It was difficult to even make it through! The extension made me so sad haha.
Please, please do not change the requirements for the gold border. Those of us who worked hard to get it should not be disqualified because of yet another programing issue.

In my notification it said I completed 27 days of questing - I’m not sure how that happened (I believe the event was 12 or 13 days?) but I appreciate it!! :)

Still not sure why it took the lowered requirement to award me the border (when the original event confirmed I met the original 3 day criterion) but I got it so whatever I guess.

So, just a quick question- is the Blue Sun Sparkle (Participated in a quest-a-thon) being given out this year at all? Just curious as I missed the QAT due to a crazy work schedule last year when it was originally given out (I think it was given out last year.)

Mine said I completed 21 days....I know 100% that I did everyday...ALL quests except for 1 day that I was rushing to get them done by midnight but the clock struck and I was short by 10 quests!!!!!!!

i understand how programming issues interfered with releasing the HA border, especially with such a small team running the site, but changing the achievement requirements last minute when there's a big difference between completing 3 days' worth of quests and 100 quests. as is evidenced by the comment section, there are a *lot* of people who specifically completed 100 quests so they could get the border, and plenty of others who were only able to do that many quests due to time restraints.
this is really unfair to them and i'm honestly disappointed by the lack of communication. personally, i would have gladly waited longer for the quest-a-thon prizes if the issue with rewarding borders was clarified beforehand so that a solution could be worked out to where everyone who worked towards and met the former requirement for the border is able to receive it.

I'm confused. I did all quests every day (including both Saggi and Sarah) and had a couple of extra Wiz Quests thrown in, so do I have to wait to see if I have made the top 100 as they're still working on it? Or does the fact that others have quests *over the QAT days* I have been credited - it took a lot of time from my daily life while my husband is deployed so I stopped once the Questathon was over - mean I will have definitely missed out? Not gonna lie, I'll be quite upset if that is the case!

I did 100 quests on the first day even tho I don't like questing, I did so to get the border, as I had personal things to attend, so I must agree with the others saying it's unfair to change it now even if it was a programming problem, some did what they could just to have that pretty border... It's sad that those couldn't get it at alll even having meet what was asked.

I'll tack on to the irritation regarding the goalposts for the green border being moved. I also did 100 quests in one day.
Even if it's going to be fixed retroactively, the implication that this was an equivalent switch up after the fact in the first place is very much not cool. It's 100% a completely different goal that doesn't encapsulate all the people who hit the initial requirement.
I think a lot of people will appreciate this being remedied.

Aww man, I was on vacation for most of the QAT and was only able to 2 days of questing for the border, I wasn't expecting for the goal for the green border to change. :/

My little quest-a-thon prize announcement says I did 3 days worth of quests, but I didn't get the green HA sparkle border. :( I did most of my quests to qualify for it on one day, because my family was visiting over the quest-a-thon dates, and I wanted to spend that time with them. I hadn't really seen them since last year because of the pandemic and moving out of state, so I was trying to limit my screen time. I don't know if there was an error in calculating which days I quested? I'm not sure if this warrants a ticket or not, but I'm pretty bummed out. :cry:

I had a feeling something strange would happen so even though I finished all 155 quests the first day, I still did at least 1 quest every day. I really hope you'll find a way to reward those who did the original 100 quest requirement. They deserve it just the same as anyone else.

@Sirius It's possible, of course, but I read that to say at 2M the 1M prizes are given AGAIN plus the other stuff. I'm very disappointed. I was really looking forward to the two pet slots and was so excited to be able to get them.

Please make sure in the future that you verify that the prizes are programmed correctly to function as intended, and if not, then make the new requirements to unlock available to everyone as soon as possible. You guys are starting to form a bad habit of changing things partway through an event without notifying the players, and that's not good. =/

@Keith @Amber OK, maybe I missed something, but we are to get double of all the prizes, and that includes the pet slot! You said if we completed 1M quests, we got all the prizes, and then you said if we completed 2M quests, our prizes were doubled. Where is my 2nd pet slot, hoodie, and all that? I have the border, but I agree that it is unfair to people who did 100 quests in 1 or 2 days. They might have been too busy to do more days. Can you manually reward it to them or something?

I know that you couldn't tell people during the actual quest-a-thon about the requirements changing, but I agree with the other post about it factoring in what the minimum quest day would have been for 100 quests for the achievement since people who are not big on questing would have likely gotten it over with in as few quest days as possible. It's clear from the news posts that people who did 100 quests still ended up missing out on the achievement which is a shame. It's not a nice feeling to be told one thing and have another thing done and it affects longer term trust in the site. :c
I think perhaps going forward for these events should involve brief downtime to test the code going out so we avoid this situation in the first place. I'm not sure if others would like that but it might (? or should?) avoid issues like these.

Yeah I’m extremely miffed about the border requirement changed. I had all 100 quests done in one day, and I’m not into questing so that’s all that I did, specifically for the border. Completely bogus.

I want to apologize about the confusion, it was totally my fault when we started the quest-a-thon for not double checking how the scoring was tabulated in the database. It adds to a total score (what you saw on the news page) and logs that the user has done the quest.
The table that it logs to is a database table called `quest_a_thon` which had a unique index on "date" and "userid", which meant that it was constrained to only create one row each day (and not throw an error, just quietly fail).
I'm going to circle up with Amber tomorrow to figure out the best way to do the avatar borders, but again, great job at completing the quest-a-thon and we'll make sure you're all taken care of!

@Jenson I meant in the Claim Titles area you go to, and claim the title. All the titles listed aren't in ABC order which made checking to see if I got title or not difficult. I had to slowly scan all titles I have earned. Thanks for letting me know they are aware of issue with achievement not being unlocked.

I did do claim achievements title twice, and I didn't get credit or the title. I read every title I have and its not there. FYI staff would be nice if titles were in ABC order, making the search easier.

Achievement title is not being credit to me, in the new achievement area. Shows, I am not getting credit for achievement, even though I got event on my dash board. If someone knows how to activate it, or solution plz comment or ping me. Thanks

Also I agree that changing the way prizes are awarded after the fact should never exclude anyone who would have qualified under the original conditions. Just give it to everyone who quested one day since 100 could be completed in one day if that's the only way to count it now.

the amount of quests someone can do ranges between 90 and 155 (depending on what they have access to and if they have a gold account), so there's probably a good handful of people who only did one or two day's worth of quests explicitly for the green border. the least you could've done was had the requirement be two days since a person who could only do the absolute minimum (90 quests) would've needed two days to finish 100 quests anyway.

Dunno if it was pointed out but the two new hoodies don't work in the quick stock? Not sure if intentional but I was quick stocking items to collections/wardrobes and it didn't do that for me, so I manually added them in.

I don't think the 3 day limit is fair, since it's possible to do 100 quests in 2 days, and that was the stated goal for the achievement.

Is that number supposed to be days and not quests then? How many days did the event run for? Because I didn't miss any days but some users have a higher number than me...still doesn't make sense.

My event says I completed 26 quests but I literally did every single quest, every day, plus I think I got one bonus Wizard quest...so not sure what happened there but hopefully all my quests counted lol
