When you join, you'll be paired with someone anonymous, throughout the day you can send each other items :) At the end of the day, the game resets, and you will never know who your secret santa is ;)

I didnt get anything back from my last SS. I only sent an item worth a few thousand sp's as a test to make sure they were participating (which obviously they weren't) since yesterday I sent a couple of things but only got one back.<br />

Maybe when some SS receives a present worth 50k and they can't afford to send one worth 50k back - they feel bad, like their gift will seem cheap so they don't send anything. It anonymous so they don't need to worry but maybe they do.<br />
SS's in classrooms etc always have a price limit. If there is a lot of non participation going on maybe a limit would help. We can always save the rare or expensive presents for our friends.

I think that there should be a way for the admins to keep track of who is paired up and if you get a SS who is abusing it- just taking items and not giving anything- you can report it. Then, if that person gets enough reports, they get banned from participating. I understand that things happen, but if it's an everyday thing that they sign up and just take they shouldn't be allowed to ruin it for people who spend their time thinking of nice things to send.

I learned last year a good lesson. At first I was bombing my SS with loads of nice gifts only to have nothing and I mean NOTHING in return. So I start sending a few nice things and waiting to see if anything returned. If I didn't recieve anything back, well they got a few nice things. If they did then I would bomb them over and over, I always made sure I checked before the day was over just in case. I know this might sound rude to some. BUT to me and others like me that send out loads of stuff and get nothing in return...imagine how we feel. I still send stuff I just send more if the giving and recieving is on both sides. I don't expect expensive nice things. I don't care if its a bunch of sand, its the idea that you are sending stuff. Am I wrong for thinking and doing this?

Sounds like the system needs a bit of work. Would it be too hard to make it so that partners could be sorted out by the rarity range of items they're willing to send, for one? As for people not sending anything back...<br />

I do think that your SS should at least send something ... if you aren't going to even send anything, why would you sign up? And if you aren't around for a few days, then you wouldn't have signed up for that day anyway ... so it doesn't matter.<br />

i'm not the richest subetan...i'm also rather new, but i've worked hard for my sP and i'm not really thrilled at getting nothing right now =/ i sent a few cute things i hope my SS likes, if i get anything in return i might send a couple more things. i guess that's just how i'll do it. if i get bombed i'll try to go all out in return XD
I love this....it doesn't matter what I get in return...I love the idea of giving to someone and hopefully making them smile. As to what to send..I like doing themes...I also need to remember not everyone can afford to send UB's or expensive items, they may just be beginning subeta during this wonderful season of giving.

i'm under the impression that you have to sign up to participate every day.. it's not everyday if you signed up today... and if you can be on to accept playing secret santa then you can at least send one item when you sign up.. i really don't think there's an excuse for not sending something if you freely choose to play SS that day...

I think the idea of banning someone for not sending a gift is a poor idea. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'll be out of town for a few days at the end of December. Because of that, I'll have limited access to the internet and won't be able to return as many gifts to a SS as I'd like (not to mention I can't remove myself from the SS commitment during that time period). I wouldn't want to be banned from participating just because I can't be as timely in sending my gifts. <br />

Not everyone's on at the same time, and not everyone has the same budget for gifts. Hmm sending 10mil in items and getting an item 100x below that, priceless. Can't complain at least they sent something. I will say I am glad there is veil of secrecy to this because I would definitely block my secret santa in a heart beat if I ever found out who they were.

I know its not all about what you get,but also fun by giving..For the first time I have done it..It is disappointing because there are people just doing it to get items and not actually taking part because its fun to do and give aswell as recieve.<br />

Oh, and something else, I tend to give a few little things when I get a partner, then nada until right before they SS resets, when I flood them. So.. bear that in mind folks, but sadly, yes, I am sure there will be those who just are in it to get, and not give.
I joined and I'm happy to get whatever my SS can afford. Saying that - I've only received a few items and they are all of the cheaper (under 100sP) variety. shrugs Thought that counts I suppose.
