They look better, but I wish you would slim down the calves some. I've always thought it was odd how the human avatars' calves are way wider than their thighs...I've never seen that happen in nature. Also they still have no wrists...the whole arm is the same size from top to bottom.

We made the changes that we could to the base, without having to redraw hundreds (or thousands) of items.

Skintones seem to have gone so... grey? <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif" border="0" /> But the other changes are very nice, I like the lineart update.

You can see the shading is improved by far, and the lineart changed enough to look more natural. And yet they STILL kept the base the same enough to the point where all the clothing wouldn't need to be redrawn. WONDERFUL. Did you also change the females? If so, what do we have to do to get the new bases to load? Mine still has the drawn ankle line and all, so it's still the old one. I tried refreshing in the wardrobe avatar section, but it stayed the same.

Aha. I see a major change: if you compare the torso of the old and new, you'll see that it's now less curved, making the the overall make base look manlier.
I kinda liked the more-defined look to some of the original parts, but I think the crotch line is amusing. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />
And yeah, that line on the ankle that was a bit awkward is nice to not have there!...

From what I can see, the ear has been redrawn (thank god), there's now shading in the crotch area and the leg/ankle area and arm areas look slimmer to me... could just be my imagination, though.
