I'm Danielle Moonstar, Dani to my friends. I used to live in Boulder, Colorado with my grandfather Black Eagle. After I began exhibiting mutant powers he was the only person who stuck by me. I have the ability to create illusions, people's greatest fears or desires. When I couldn't control my power I scared people all the time. Black Eagle was killed by Hellfire goons trying to find me, but I managed to escape them with Professor Xavier's help and joined his school. During a trip to Asgard I saved a winged horse. The horse, Brightwind, chose me as its partner and because of this I was accepted into the women warrior faction called the Valkyrie, gaining some of their powers as well.

I am co-leader of the New Mutants. While I love the Professor and the senior team the X-Men, my true family are my teammates and fellow Muties. My best friend Rahne is my platonic soul mate.
