Erandur the Healer

"I'm glad to see that you are home." Erandur's voice greeted his older sibling, Talsgar, as he returned from his visit to the nearby chapel. Erandur was busily grinding herbs in his mortar to make healing potions. "I fear that there will be many wounded in the coming battle, so I'm making numerous potions to heal those that will be in need of our help." He took his work seriously and was thankful for the gift of healing that the gods had bestowed upon him. However, he felt that his gift would be stretched to the limit this time with the number of casualties that the battle with Alduin's dragons would bring.

Erandur went on further to say, "I noticed that you have been restless these past few nights. I know that you worry about the battle and that training our younger brother, Simurgh, to fight by your side weighs heavily on your conscience. I have been working on an elixir that will both settle your mind and help you to sleep. It is the least that I can do to help you to be fully rested and alert for battle."Talsgar looked at his younger sibling and said, "Thank you, Erandur. These are difficult times for us all but most of all if I am to be Dovahkiin..." Talsgar trailed off at the mention of that name. They were both all too aware of the massive responsibilities that lay with the title of being the Dragonborn and for Talsgar it was one that he had to bear alone.

Erandur continued to busy himself with his work as his brother stoked the fire in the fireplace. It was going to be a cold night and he wanted to keep the home warm for as long as possible. He watched as Talsgar became lost in the flicker of the flames and silently acknowledged that, in reality, his older brother was deep in thought, thoughts that revolved around the terrible events that were about to unfold.
