There are red and green and blue and yellow balloons in bunches bumping against the ceiling, all of them tied to the funiture. They're like little dreams, he says, you have to tie them up hard so they don't get lose and disappear out the window and up in the blue sky. You have to make them stay. But even so you can't always keep them. Sometimes they run out of air and sometimes they pop. When they do, his brother and sister takes him to the store and buys him new ones.
