Cricket

Hey there! My name is Cricket but I'm pretty sure I'm actually a dog. My pet humans often call me a "min pin terrierist", I think that means I'm a mix of miniature pinscher and some sort of terrier by the name of Jack Russell. What I really am is AWESOME! My story didn't start out that great. I had some humans when I was a puppy but when I was about a year and a half old I found myself on the streets scrounging for food. Some people from "animal control" picked me up and contacted my people...but they didn't want me anymore!! Well that's fine, I never liked them much anyway. I was at the shelter for a little while. It was so noisy and scary and there were lots of other dogs barking and whining. The humans working there were nice to me but I still wanted out of there. I wanted a home...a real home! When some nice humans came in one day and asked to meet me I leaped into their lap and asked them to PLEASE get me out of there. They listened!! I was finally going to a forever home! I wasted no time in showing my appreciation and giving them a performance of all my best tricks. I'm very smart you know!! I surprised my new family by showing them I already knew "sit", "up" and even "dance"! Why, I even balanced treats on my nose, flipped and caught them in mid-air. I'm one talented pup! Speaking of treats, carrots are my absolute favorite! You wouldn't happen to have any, would you? *wags tail*

I've been in my forever home for a long time...I'm almost 10 years old now, can you believe it?? I can't! I still think I'm a puppy. Young at heart and all that, you know. Sometimes my joints get a little sore but I still love to go out and be active. I attend all sorts of doggy events with my humans and I'm always winning contests because I'm so cute. Last spring I ran a 5K race with my pet and we came in second place! My favorite activity is hiking and walking, especially when I get to go with a big group of dog friends and family. I'm always the leader on our adventures! I'm alpha of my own pack too. My brothers are Foxy the chihuahua and Nemo the beagle. My sister is Wahya, a husky/collie mix who I personally helped raise. She's a big dog but she thinks she's a chihuahua and knows I'm in charge. Everyone knows that! I also have an extended doggy family with grandma's dogs Chico and Roo and grandpa's dogs Cinnamon and Munchkin. Chico is almost like a "mini me". His story started out much like my own...he was dumped in a parking lot! He's smaller than me and I think he's mostly chihuahua but he looks like he could be my puppy and acts just like me, especially when I was younger. We don't call him "the master of chaos" for nothing y'know! Well that's my story so far. Thanks for checking out my profile and have a look at my treasures...but don't touch anything!
