Bartholomew

Bartholomew was born on the planet Var Shaatah to the head of the Lockley family, Theodore, and his wife, Marie. He had no interest in being a Mob Boss, like his father. When Bartholomew was younger, all he wanted to do was hang out with his friends, party, and drink. Luckily he had an older brother, who their father was training up to take over the family businesses, so Bartholomew got to have his fun growing up. As he got older, however, that lifestyle grew boring, and he no longer wanted to be a part of it. He quit drinking, and began to take an interest in the family businesses. His father put him in charge of the rentals in their district.

It was through this that Bartholomew met his future wife, who was a tenant. She was sweet and kind and beautiful... innocent, which was something different for Bartholomew, which made him want to protect her all the more. The two dated for several years before he finally asked her to marry him, and she agreed. She was the love of Bartholomew's life, and he would do anything for her. But most importantly, he shielded her from the realities of being part of a Mob Family. At least, he tried to.

His older brother and his brother's wife were killed in a car bombing, set up by one of the rival Mob Families. Bartholomew wanted revenge on whoever planted the bomb as well as who ordered them to, but it was a dead end as to who it was that did it. It would forever remain a cold case.

Now it was Bartholomew who his father started training up to take over the family businesses. Bartholomew was making money hand over fist, and used it to spoil his wife, as well as invest in androids from the Alliance who served as his personal assistant, since he didn't trust any other person aside from his father and his wife. He was a tech junkie, who always had to have the newest and best stuff, so any time a new version of the android came out, he was buying a new one.

What an android couldn't do was act as a personal body guard, however. And after his brother's family's death, Bartholomew took his and his own wife's protection very seriously. He found the answer in a man named Taiberius, who was a soldier in the family's mob who loved money. They say money can't buy happiness, but Bartholomew firmly believed it could buy loyalty. He paid Taiberius extremely well.

His father then succumbed to cancer, leaving Bartholomew as head of the Lockley Mob Family. He invested his time and money wisely, and ran his businesses efficiently and effectively, resulting in him becoming the second wealthiest man on Var Shaatah, just after the Belmont family, who had more ties with the Alliance than the Lockley's did.

First came the birth of his son, Draven. Then three years later came the birth of his daughter Kenna. Life was great. His family and businesses were growing and flourishing.

That was, until a drive by shooting at a restaurant. Bartholomew had been the target, but Taiberius stood in front of him, taking two bullets, and killing one of the men who was hanging out of the car that drove by. Luckily neither of Bartholomew's children were hurt, but the love of Bartholomew's life, his precious wife, was killed. Bartholomew was a changed man after that. He was consumed with the need for revenge against who killed his wife, so much so that he completely lost track of what his children were up to(going out to raves in the Dusk District, doing drugs, and so on).

Bartholomew learned the Wright Family was responsible for his wife's murder, and spent a year plotting his revenge. This revenge not only killed the entire Wright Family, but also allowed Bartholomew to take over the Wright District and absorb it into his own. After his sweet revenge he began turning his attentions back to his family... particularly in raising Draven to be the next head of the family when Bartholomew died. But much to his disappointment, and much like he was when he was Draven's age, Draven had no interest in it. Bartholomew didn't force or pressure Draven into it, however. He figured that, like him, Draven would eventually get sick of that lifestyle and return to the family business on his own.

His problem child turned out to be Kenna, who came to him with a dream that men in strange dress were chasing her. Bartholomew asked her to describe what they wore, and he knew immediately that it was the Alliance who were chasing her in her dreams. He asked Kenna if she had told anyone she could see the future, and she told him that she had done several tarot card readings for friends. Bartholomew sighed. It seemed as if the Alliance had caught wind of it and would want to take Kenna in for questioning and testing... as they collected Oracles(the term used for people who could see the future). He should have told Kenna not to tell anyone about her ability. He should have told her about Oracles. But it was too late now... the alliance were after her.

The next day, Six(Bartholomew's sixth, and newest android) alerted them to the Alliance landing at the port. Bartholomew quickly hid Kenna away just before the Alliance got there. They questioned him as to where she was and he told them he didn't know, that the night before she had snuck out of the house AGAIN, and likely went to the Dusk District to go to their raves, as she was wont to do. He suggested they try there. Then, for good measure, he told them that if they were to find her to tell her this was the last straw and not to come home.

The Alliance left, and Bartholomew immediately had Six search out and contact a mercenary group known to hate the Alliance. Six found the best crew she could and told them they had a very well paying job for them. The crew arrived the next day. At first Captain Ronin refused to take on the job... but when he heard it would pay 1000 currency every month it gave him pause to consider. "The Alliance wants her, and I don't want the Alliance to have her,"Bartholomew added. That touched something in the Captain, who then agreed. Sending Taiberius along with Kenna, Bartholomew said goodbye to his little girl and bodyguard, wondering when he might see them again.

Six, over the four months that he's had her, had proven to be an invaluable asset to him... far more so than any of the other androids that he'd had in the past. The fact that he had custom built her every specification from what programs she had to every freckle on her body made it easy for him to fall in love with her. He tried to resist it at first, as he said he would never love another woman after his wife's death, but he was a man with needs, and soon found himself using Six for more than just a personal assistant android. And she was eager to please him in every arena.

Draven

"Son, there will come a day when raves and drugs just don't do it for you anymore."

Draven is Bartholomew's oldest child, and only son. Bartholomew would like for Draven to start learning the family business, so that he can take over whenever Bartholomew died, but Draven has no interest in it as he just wants to go out partying with his friends. Bartholomew had been the same way at that age, and had grown out of it, so he's hoping the same will happen with Draven.

Kenna

"I know you don't want to go, Kitten. But you have to. This is for your own good."

Kenna is Bartholomew's second child and only daughter. Growing up she was always very unique, and then they found out that she could get glimpses of the future. Bartholomew is kicking himself in the butt for not telling her to keep that quiet, as now the Alliance are after her. Bartholomew didn't know what the Alliance did with Oracles, and didn't trust them, so he hired a mercenary group aboard the IAS Windrunner to keep his daughter out of Alliance hands.

Six

"I cannot imagine life without you, Six.

Six was a Yannik Model G-5 Android, custom designed and build by Bartholomew, who's primary function was to please Bartholomew. She served as Bartholomew's personal assistant for several months before Bartholomew decided to start satisfying other needs on her as well. Despite the fact that he said he would never love another woman after the death of his wife, and despite the fact that Six is an android, Bartholomew has found himself developing feelings for her.

Taiberius

"You make sure to protect my baby girl, understand?"

Taiberius is Bartholomew's personal body guard. He's been working for Bartholomew for years, and is one of the very few people who's earned Bartholomew's respect and trust. He's taken several bullets for Bartholomew, and lived to tell the tale. But when Bartholomew had to send his daughter, Kenna, away with mercenaries, he decided to send Taiberius with her to protect her.
