Kenna was born to Bartholomew and Caroline Lockley on the planet Var Shaatah, three years after her brother, Draven. Her father, at this point in time, had been Mob Boss for five years now... one of seven mob bosses that ran the planet. He was also one of the top three richest people on Var Shaatah, so Kenna grew up spoiled. Anything she needed or desired, her daddy would send someone to get it for her, all she had to do was ask.
Kenna was always an eccentric, and peculiar little girl, often in her own little world and at times would speak in cryptic riddle-like language. But Kenna was praised for her beauty, and her kind and gentle soul, both of which she had gotten from her mother. And like her mother, Kenna was very imaginative and creative, and had a fondness for spirituality. She began reading tarot cards at the age of seven, and even her mother thought her readings were eerily accurate. Of course, what none of them knew was that Kenna got glimpses of the future when touching someone, or while dreaming.
It wasn't until she was twelve that her parents started to recognize there was something unique about her(as for Kenna herself, she didn't know there was anything strange about her, she just thought it was all normal). Kenna had gone in to hug her father good night, and in her mind saw him betting on a horse and losing. "Don't bet on Deaths Dragon," she told him, "Go for Instant Lunch." He merely laughed at her, thinking it was one of her games and kissed her good night. The next day he went to the horse races and was about to bet on Deaths Dragon, but then remembered what his daughter said and instead chose a horse named Instant Lunch. Sure enough, Instant Lunch won.
When she was fifteen she had a terrible nightmare of storm clouds rolling in. Only instead of rain, metal fell from the sky. She told her parents about the dream, who just brushed it off as a nightmare and told her such a thing could never happen. But Kenna felt, in her gut, that her dream had meant something. It was a warning of some kind. She insisted to her parents it was going to storm, but her father pulled up the weather and showed her there was nothing but sunny days for the next week, and not to be worried. This did help to ease Kenna's mind a bit, but there was still that feeling in her gut.
Later that evening, the whole family had gone out to dinner. As they were leaving the restaurant, a car came screeching by with two men hanging out of the windows firing upon them all. Their target was Bartholomew, but they missed him. Instead they hit the chauffeur and they hit her mother. Neither of them survived.
After that, her father became a completely different man. He spent most of his time in his office, plotting revenge upon the Wright family for what they had done. For a year it was his primary focus, and he diligently and methodically planned it out until he finally put an end to the entire family and took over their district. Of course, during this time, he was completely unaware that both Draven and Kenna would go out to raves in the evenings, or that both children had discovered the joys of drug use.
Kenna had followed Draven out one night to a rave, and got hooked. The loud music, the flashing lights, the people, the dancing, and especially the drugs helped Kenna to forget about the death of her mother for a time. She made many friends at the raves, and when they found out about her visions would ask her to tell them their futures. She'd do tarot card readings for them, as somehow it seemed getting cards read put people more at ease than Kenna just telling them what she saw without them. She also made many lovers at the raves, both male and female. Most were just flings or one night stands... however she did have a decent run with a bounty hunter named Lux for a while. Their split up was amicable and mutual, and they remained good friends after that.
More recently, however, Kenna met a young man named Sylas at a rave one night. He and his friends were clearly new there... they stuck out like a sore thumb. Kenna's girlfriends thought Sylas and his friends were hot, and took it upon themselves to welcome them to the rave and show them a good time. The guys all bought drinks for the girls, and the girls scored them some Ecstasy for everyone. They all hit the dance floor for hours, and Sylas and Kenna seemed as if they couldn't get enough of each other. All through out the night Kenna caught glimpses of the two of them eating at a food truck, of them laying together in bed, of them playing card games together, of them wrestling playfully, and so on.
But all good things must come to an end eventually... the morning came and the rave closed, sending it's patrons to their beds. Kenna couldn't get Sylas out of her mind, even the next day when the drugs had worn off the thought of him gave her butterflies in her stomach. The next night she was hoping she'd see him at the rave again, but she did not. That's when she found out, from her friend who slept with one of the guys, that they were from the Belmont District, and that Ryker was Ryker Belmont... son of Sylas Belmont, who was the kingpin of the Dusk District. Kenna's heart sank into her stomach. Her father did not like the Belmonts, or any of the other Mob Bosses. There was no way he'd let his little girl see the son of another Mob Boss.
A week or so later, Lux brought Kenna a message from Ryker. It said he couldn't stop thinking about her, and that he needed to see her again. He asked her to meet him at the edge where the Belmont District and the Lockley District met in two days time. Kenna wasn't sure if she should do it, but she was reminded of all the visions she had while dancing with him. So she went, and they ate at a food truck and got to know each other better. The two began a secret relationship, in which Lux smuggled messages back and forth between them on when and where to meet.
Then one night, Kenna woke up with a jolt from a nightmare in which she was being chased by two men in unique fashion. She told her father about the dream, and he knew immediately that it was the Alliance chasing her. He asked her if she had told anyone else about her visions, and she said she had. He groaned and shook his head, then told her that it's very rare to see the future, but there are others like her who can. They are called Oracles, and the Alliance collects them... what the Alliance did with or to the Oracles, no one knew. Kenna didn't want to go live with the Alliance, she didn't want to leave Ryker(of course she didn't say that part to her father).
The next day, they were alerted that Alliance had landed on Var Shaatah. Bartholomew hid Kenna in his secret safety room while he waited for the Alliance to knock on their door. He then told them he didn't know where Kenna was, that she had gone out to the raves last night and hadn't come home. He suggested they try asking around at the raves for any information, and then added for good measure,"And if you find her, tell her this is the last straw and not to think about coming home!"
Later that night, another ship came to port - the IAS Windrunner. Taiberius, her father's most trusted bodyguard, took Kenna to the ship, and the two got on board. That's when it dawned on her what her father's plan was. He was going to send her away with this crew, to keep her out of Alliance hands. "Taiberius, tell Daddy I don't want to," Kenna pleaded. To which he responded, "And you think I want to? Hardly. But it's what your father decided, and I follow orders."
Ever since then, Kenna has been on board the IAS Windrunner, avoiding the Alliance. She wants nothing more than to go back home, but she knows she can never return home so long as the Alliance were after her.
