- Grew up in the Cathedral, didn't get much of a childhood and lowkey resents it but has never tried to leave.
- Her emotions have the power to influence the flora.

- Other kingdoms have tried to kidnap the maidens in the past, so each is assigned a knight for protection.
- Every five years, the cathedral holds the Festival of A Thousand Lights; a masquerade to celerbrate the liberation of Sunarel.
- After the masquerade she is to undergo the rite of eternal bloom, binding her to Sunarel and the cathedral for life. Considered the highest privilege.
- She decides with the help of Alexander, that she finally wishes to choose herself, chooses to escape Sunarel to see the world. Alexander is happy to oblige.
- It is believed she is kidnapped, bounties placed on her and Alexander to be brought back (alive)
- Ophelia finally gets to experience the outside world and all things ordinary and she loves it.
