Jeremy the Guardian

Jeremy's tale is quite a sad one truth be told. He was born into the darkness of the River Styx and there he is destined to remain.

The Devil needed a guardian for his gates and just not any minion would do. They had to be strong enough to withstand the River's swift currents and keep the would-be-escaping souls at bay. So he fashioned himself a creature unlike any thing ever seen out of hellfire and rock. Short and sturdy it was, covered in vicious spikes and a nasty temper.

All seemed to be going well and Jeremy proved to be an apt guardian with very few souls ever escaping past the River's banks. However, centuries taking care of the River has started to take it's toll on Jeremy.

He has started to question his orders and rebel in small ways against the Devil, letting a few more souls slip out and other such deeds. He has never seen sunlight or the feel of firm ground, always calling the middle of the River home. Jeysca, the guardian of Heaven and always thoughtful of others, heard of his plight and decided she should help in some way.

The gift came in the form of a Lilth, a small dragon like creature whose body always glows with a pale, warm, light. The fragile creature brings some light and warmth down to the dank underground, offering Jeremy a little bit of hope that someday he may leave the River.

Overview
Jeremy is the Guardian. He is tasked with protecting the gates to Hell in either direction. He keeps unwanted people out and those condemned in, however occasionally some slip past. He was created specifically to withstand the swift currents of the River Styx that he calls him, though after several centuries in the darkness he has begun to tire of his existence and has been trying for some time to find a way out of his duty.
