Splattercon!!! (Yes, the three exclamation points are important) is named in honor of a horror convention in the Dresden book "Proven Guilty" by Jim Butcher.

Splattercon!!! is an old ghostly. She began her life as a small poltergeist in a house by the sea. When someone new moved into the house, she took to scaring her for a very long time. However, the woman got used to the little ghostly and began to anticipate her attempts to scare her.

Through a process that remarkably reminded the woman of "The Little Prince", the two began to meet each day at a specified time. After a long few months, they decided it would be better if the ghostly would just remain by her friend's side full time.

Splat, as Bubba calls her, is the book-smart one of the set. She teaches Tavi things, and patiently explains to Bubba what is going on when the slower Mortiking gets confused. However, she does need Skin Horse's guidance to be wise. SH has more "real world" experience than Splat does.
