This creature of evil has not technically existed as long as his just twin, Conviction. When their original abandoned his innocent childhood, a mere spark of darkness filled the small void that was left. Eventually, through the mistakes and dark choices of his life, that small void grew, germinating into an entire personality buried deep within. Whenever possible, the darkness corrupted the thoughts of the dominant personality, causing him to doubt himself and pushing him towards evil choices. He knew he would be able to eventually overwhelm the body and become the dominant personality. However, the host had different plans.

Through a radical procedure, the good and evil sides of the original body were separated. Now free to spread his evil, the dark half rejoiced at his new autonomy. He quickly discovered that, since he was technically only half of a being, the remaining space in his body filled with darkness and shadows, which he planned to spread across the world. For every good act Conviction planned and performed, the evil Repression was there to commit an equal act of evil. He began corrupting and gathering every creature of shadow and evil he could find to aid him. He eventually found another splinter of the original personality, a seed of darkness he had planted within the host body. Every time the original had endured a failure, that memory was stored away, for use in debilitating the host with cripplingly embarrassing flashes of his shortcomings. While not distinct enough to grow into an entire being, F-Bomb was nonetheless split off during the procedure. He only has short bursts of power and rage, but that makes him a loaded gun to help Repression in his mission to undo the work of his virtuous twin.

His continuing work toward undoing Conviction's accomplishments invariably led him to attack the Subeta Defense League on occasion. This strength in numbers created a new obstacle for the evil creature: he simply could not overcome their strength as a group. Fortunately, the devious genius Thad Thorul approached him with an offer...
