I don't have much of a personality. Not one that many people see, anyway. My students don't care enough to ask, and I don't care enough tell. I'm quite a lonely person. I love to sit at home and stare at my endless collection of random items that I have acquired over the years. I dream of traveling to far away places, buying things from quaint shops in each of the cities I visit, but my job is quite restricting, and I'm not able to go on vacations hardly ever. I will when I retire, though. I probably won't be home for years at a time, and I'll love it. Those years a quite a while off, though.

People think I'm a mean, heartless, old bitch, and they are right. I never dreamed of teaching college students when I was in school. It just sort of happened that way. I hate everyone, to be honest, and I should have gone into a field of study that didn't require me to be social and personable and friendly because I'm none of those things. My students might start respecting me more if I had all of those qualities. Hell, they don't respect me at all because I'm a hard ass. But someone has to be, I guess. I wish they could see my world. Maybe then they'd understand. Maybe if they had lived the hard life I lived they'd understand why I am the way I am. They only see what's on the outside, though, and none of that comes off very pleasantly.

I get bullied for the mountains of "clutter" in my house. It's not clutter. Not at all. It's everything I love. Everything I have collected over the years that is really sentimental to me. If there is one place on Earth where you could find my heart and soul, it'd be that collection. There's nothing else that matters to me, really. Except for Ardin, the owl that I raised ever since he was a little thing that could fit in the palm of my hand. He's such a sweetheart. Maybe if I start opening up to people like I open up to Ardin they'd be able to connect with me better. I'm just so afraid. I've sheltered myself all my life and I don't know how I'd be able to break free from my shell. There are just so many dangers out there, and I don't know if I'm big enough or strong enough to face them all. Or if I even want to.
