I have an obsession. With Terror. With Fear. With Darkness. I never used to be like this though. This is still quite new to me. Actually, up until last year, I was pretty normal. I will now tell you the story. The story of how I became obsessed with terror.

My story starts here. Where exactly is here? Well, here is a forest. A forest located right in between Darkside and Shadowglen. I was standing just outside the forest with my three best friends, Ryu, Jyin, and Naz. I had never been to that particular forest before. In fact, I had never been to that part of town before, so I had no idea what to expect when my friends invited me to tag along with them. I had no idea what they were doing. They had no idea what they were doing. They just wanted to go the forest. The spookiest forest they could find, which ended being this forest. We did not know the name of the forest at the time, though, we frankly couldn't care less what the name of the forest was, we were just looking for an adventure.

It was Ryu who took the first step into the forest. Since he was the one who wanted to come here. He continued creeping slowly down the path in the forest, turning his head every few steps to make sure we were still there with him. Naz followed Ryu into the forest, but walked much swifter than Ryu did, as if he weren't scared of anything. Ryu kept turning his head left to right, looking into both sides of the forest, to make sure nothing was there following us. Jyin looked scared out of his mind when I told him to go in next.

He shook his head and said, "No. You go before me."

I did not want to start an argument, so I built up my courage, and stepped onto the path. I could tell Jyin was only a few paces behind me. Ryu and Naz were pretty far ahead of us at that point, since I kept pausing every second to make sure Jyin was still behind me. When it got to the point that we could no longer see Ryu and Naz ahead of us, we began to speed up. We found that Ryu and Naz were much further ahead of us then we thought, so we started to sprint after them. We sprinted for what seemed like forever, but we never caught up with Ryu and Naz.

"Were did they go?" Jyin asked me.

"I don't know. It seems like we should have caught up with them by now." I answered back.

"Do you think they left the trail, and went into the forest?" Jyin asked me.

"I'm not sure. I don't think they would. They know as much about this forest as I do, so I do not think they would go wandering off." I said.

"Do you think we should go looking for them, just in case they did go wandering off?" Jyin asked.

"No. Let's stay on the trail. We don't need to get lost also." I informed him, continuing to walk forward.

From that point on, we started creeping down the path slowly so we could peer into the forest and see if we could see anything. There was nothing in the forest. No animals, No Ryu or Naz, not even any light. I wouldn't have minded if Ryu had decided to go into the forest during the day, but I did mind going into this forest, since he decided to go at night, and I have no clue where the forest leads.

Jyin and I continued down the path, and continued looking for Ryu and Naz. It was getting dark, so it was becoming hard to see.

"I hate to say this, but let's just leave them. It's getting late, and it is really hard to see." I said to Jyin.

"We can't just leave them here! What if they are stuck somewhere and need help?" Jyin replied back to me.

"We are not going to be able to find them anyway. It's almost midnight. We'll came back in the morning to look for them, if they don't come home tonight." I explained to Jyin.

"Okay. But it's not my fault if they turn up dead, and we end up on the news for murder charges." Jyin said back to me.

"They aren't going to die. And we aren't going to be accused of murder because we didn't murder anyone." I informed.

"Yea, but they won't believe us."

At this point in the story I was just focused on getting out of the forest alive. When I started on this 'adventure' I had no intentions to stay here this long, or to be wandering around with Jyin, having no clue where to go. Jyin and I continued walking, no longer creeping, down the path. It was night and we wanted to get out of the forest.

The whole time I had been in the forest, I felt like I was being watched. And followed. But of course everyone feels that way when venturing into a creepy forest at night. But Jyin pointed out to me that he felt the same way, when all of the sudden he asked me:

"Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" I asked him.

"That sound. It sounded like booming footsteps." He panicked.

"Yes, I heard it. But I have been hearing stuff all day, so I just ignored it." I answered.

"What if there is someone following us?" Jyin asked.

"There isn't." I continued, "Now let's just focus on getting out of here."

I continued walking, becoming surprise by how long the trail was. It was pitch black outside, and the only light source for miles was tiny glow of the moon.

I was not expecting this next part to happen, and I wish it wouldn't have happened in the first place. Out of no where came the loudest bloodcurdling scream I had ever heard. Right away I knew it was Jyin. I did not know how he got away without me hearing, or noticing, but he got away. And I knew that he went to go find Ryu and Naz. I did not stop to help him, I knew I could do nothing. I knew he was being attacked by something, and I did not want to risk dying, when I was the only one alive, that I knew of. I ran. I ran like I had never run before. I knew the monster would come after me sometime, so I wanted to get a head start before it was too late. I was confused, I was alone, I was scared. No I was terrified. Not because I was in a forest. Alone. At night. But because I had no clue whatsoever, what that thing was, and I had no intention on finding out.

"Deafen!" I heard someone say. Though I did not not respond, and kept running.

"Deafen! It's me Naz!"

I turned around and saw Naz running after me.

"Naz! Where were you?" I asked.

"I was with Ryu. He took me to a secret spot just off the trail, but then he slipped and tumbled down a hill and I couldn't find him. He is most likely dead." Naz said.

"Well, it's good you're here. We have to keep going. We have to get out of this forest." I said.

"I know we do." Naz said.

Naz and I took off running. We did not want the monster to catch up with us. We wanted to live, and return home to see our family. We continued to run for what seemed like miles, but we still did not come to the end of the forest. It was then that heard it. I heard Naz scream. It was one of the loudest, most deafening screams that I ever heard. He was being murdered by the monster.

I am the monster. I murdered Ryu. I murdered Jyin, and I murdered Naz. I went insane in that forest, completely insane, and I turned into a monster. I now live in the forest. Deep inside of it, A place that no one knows the location of. And every year a group of friends wander into this forest, and get mysteriously murdered. No one knows how, and no one knows why. No one except me.

The name of the forest, the name of my forest, it just so happens, is Insanity.
