"I felt a connection to the game. The competition of it, the unpredictability. I played every Saturday, in fact, with the golf team over at the Old Anglo Country Club. I was the only girl on the team, the youngest player, also. The guys didn't respect me. They didn't take me seriously. I got my revenge, so I'm sure they respect me now in whatever afterlife they went to.
For the past year I have been running from the law; evading arrest by hiding out in underground sewers. I do find time to write, though. Whenever an efficient amount of light seeps through the cracks in the road. I write to my family often. They don't know where I am, but they know I am safe. Safe from everything except for the monster I have turned into. I only go above ground at night, and I only leave the depths to slip the letters into the mail box that sits in front of the Post Office.
The police aren't smart enough to search the letters. It'd take them years to sort through everything, anyway. And these days I use an alias; Golf. They could figure out it is me if they wanted to. I don't keep any secrets except for my location. I think they've given up. They must look pretty bad, too. Letting a nineteen year old girl who killed nineteen men with a golf club slip through the cracks? Shame. Shame, shame. I don't care, though. Puts more pressure on them to do their job.
I just hope they find me eventually. And save me from myself. Before it's too late."
The darkened screen of the Vivitar showed a young girl with a mutilated face and wild, dark hair. The light was scarce around her, and every word she spoke was repeated through the dank tunnels. Water was knee high in the sewer, and the walls were caked with a dark green substance that had accumulated over the years. The girl turned away from the camera and fixed her gaze on a small critter scurrying close to the far wall. She moved a slight inch before she pounced, bounding away from the camera. Her hands fell onto the body of the rat in an instance. She stroked the rat's back with a quivering finger before lunging down to take a large bite of the vermin. The rat stilled as she chewed the stringy flesh; a dark substance pouring from the wounds, covering her hands, and dripping down to mix with the water below her. The black orbs of her eyes were wild, and she cackled a deep, throaty cackle as she devoured her prey.
The screen went blurry only a moment later, and water could be seen whirling past the lens. The sound of muffled gunshots mixed with the sounds of the rushing water, and a gurgled voice could be heard from everywhere all at once. The camera was lifted from the depths to show a thin man with muscular arms carrying the mangled body of the young girl. A bullet wound could be seen on her forehead; another could be seen directly over her heart. The water that dripped from her worn clothing was mixed with the red of her blood. A deep voice could be heard from the man holding the camera.
"I knew she would go for the rat. It must have seemed like a feast to her."
"And who's idea was it to send the rat into the sewers, John?" The man carrying Golf brought his fist to his face and coughed once; a deep, sarcastic cough.
"Yours, Eric."
Eric clambered up a rusty ladder and lifted the girl through the open sewer covering as John followed. Light flooded the camera lens as the two men and the thin girl emerged above ground. John replaced the sewer covering and then turned the camera back to his partner who had already begun walking down the deserted road.
John followed suit, and he soon caught up to Eric. The camera was tilted downward, and Golf's face enlarged. John zoomed out and raised the camera to show Eric who had a look of exhaustion settling onto his face. The very bottom left of the screen showed the face of the dead girl, her eyes shut tight. Suddenly, the eyes of the small girl blinked once and then twice as she regained consciousness. As the world would soon find out, this girl was immortal.
