"I have sworn with my life's blood, none shall pass this way without my permission!"
- Sir Didymus
Sir. Didymus has spent most of his life guarding the bridge across the Bog of Eternal Stench, located in the heart of the Labyrinth. He and his faithful sheepdog, Ambrosius, are the best of friends and have stuck together like glue in the many years that they have been together.
The only exception that Didymus has ever made in letting someone cross the bridge was when 15 - year old Sarah and her friends Ludo and Hoggle came to him, seeking permission to cross the bridge. When Sir. Didymus heard the story of how Sarah's baby brother, Toby, was taken by the Goblin King, Jareth, and that she had to save him before he became a Goblin himself, Didymus still wouldn't let them pass! Only after Ludo showed his "combat skills" and he realized that he was allowed to let someone pass if he gave them permission, Sir. Didymus let the group go accross. Didymus and Ambrosius accompanied Sarah and her friends on their journey after making a "bond of brotherhood" with Ludo.
Sir. Didymus's hobbies include sword - fighting, cracking jokes (though he can be a very serious character), and playing Scrabble. He speaks in a British accent, sometimes referring to Sarah as "milady", and is quite the poet. Didymus is known for his courage and bravery - he never shy's away from an opponent because of his small size. He is still one of Sarah's best friends because he played a key role in rescuing Toby from Jareth's clutches. He is still in the company of his most loyal pal, Ambrosius.
