A Promise of Destruction

bold italic underline

'To be a God means many things.
To be a Demigod means less of those many things.
To become a Dark Lord was easy.
And to manipulate a world was how I became such things.

I am the Dark Lord of tyranny and chaos.
I am the creator and master of the seventeen Fallen.
And, rest assured, my grasp will extend to even the God's domains.
Then, once my claws have dug deep, my revenge will be wrought upon all.'

-Adhikshita, Dark Lord, Overseer and Master of the Seventeen Fallen

A War Amongst Immortals

With eyes as full of hatred as they come, I knew that it would only be him left alive should his soldiers be able to reach our stronghold. Of course, not many knew of his crimes when he had first been granted the powers of a demigod, but I could sense the evil that sent many to their knees when he approached. But not a soul would believe one who had been dethroned and put back into her place as but a lowly Goddess over the Earth below. Why would they have reason to doubt his fresh mind, and take my word as truth after what I had committed?

They had none, and so they mistook my fears as jealousy. Such meager emotions were below me, though my anger grew with each day until, on the eve of our citadel's dawning, he approached me on my lands. His proposition was hard to believe, and only when my eyes fell upon the creature he had only begun to weave into being did I truly see the monster that had been hiding behind scales and shadows.

"Do you accept my proposal, Lady Serris?" His voice was like acid to my ears, eating them away with such ferocity and appetite. I could only focus on the creature, living shadow and fang, that watched me from his back; it looked much like he did, and my heart cried out in rage for those creatures he had used to transform into the hatchling of a beast upon his back.

"Your tongue is like a poison upon us all, and your malice does not escape my eyes. You have committed crimes of treason by dredging up such a monster, no doubt from your own servants and soldiers. However, your news troubles me that Gorlon would be whispering such vile deeds into my brothers ears... If I follow your way, will you follow my own in time, Adhikshita of the Chaos?" I had not thought through what his actions would cause upon my siblings, for though we are Gods and Goddesses, we are far from invincible. We may not have a mortal body that can tread upon the grounds of Earth and other worlds, but our powers could easily kill one another should they be used sibling against sibling.

His dark chuckling erupted through the silence that reigned over us, and I heard the faint hiss from his creation as he spread his wings, the dragon serpent slowly lifting his body from the ground. "But of course, Lady Serris. Inform my soldiers who shall be saved from this purge, and they will obey. You will know the signs when the purge begins."

As his body became but wisps of shadow and darkness, my heart cried once more in sorrow. He would be the death of us all, and my hand in this would not be forgiven this time. Falling to my knees, I wept into my hands as images of destruction raced across my vision, my Sight giving me all I would need know of what was to come to pass.

Some things may well never come to be forgiven. Gathering myself together, I did the only thing I could; I sought out my eldest brother and sister, in hopes they would hear me once more. Adhikshita would be exposed, for the war amongst ourselves would leave everything barren in our wake.

Lady Serris, Goddess of Earth, Protector of Light, Follower of the Ascension, Betrayer of Lord Iflinoch.

Lady Serris
Should you change your mind, I will be waiting my Lady. My patience does not thin with time as yours will.

Iflinoch
Such a tragdy, your soul stolen. But rest now, for I shall call you up from the dredges you slumber in.

Infernocs
You were my greatest warrior, the one I have yearned eternities for. Yet you take my gifts for granted, Infernocs... My lessons are easily learned but my punishements are never easily forgotten.
