Ol� Discord escaped from Canterlot
He was in his chaotic prime
He�d been locked in stone for far too long
And he was making up for lost time

Then he came across the princess
And her band of merry mares
And he danced a jig on a unicorn�s head
And said, �Im�ma mingle in your affairs.

�Perhaps you didn�t know this
But I�m a tricky lad by trade
And if you wish to play along
And join my mad parade�

�I�ll hide your precious Elements
And let you seek them out
But should you fail this simple quest
Then I�ll forever be about!�

The unicorn said, �My name�s Twilight, and this might be a ploy
�But we�ll take you on
Until you�re gone
Before you find things to destroy.�

Oh Mane Six, do be cautious girls
And keep your wits about
�Cause Discord�s in Equestria
And he holds a lot of clout

And if you win you�ll make
The lands a peaceful place to thrive
But if you lose, your friendships
May subside

Ol� Discord opened up his maze
And allowed the fillies in
And the group was quickly separated
So his chaos could begin

He then imposed upon each mare
A dreary look of grey
And tricked some of the girls to flee
And others just to bray

Dear Twilight found the Elements
But by then it was too late
For the harmony was shattered!
Had Discord sealed their fate?

Then Twi realized they still had hope
And a convenient memory spell
So she healed her friends and grabbed the gems
To put Discord in his cell

Rainbow up in Cloudsdale, run colts run
Discord�s out in Ponyville, messing with the sun
Mane Six is approaching, Elements in reach
Pay attention to the friendship lesson they will teach

Ol� Discord gave a little scoff
At the six mares at his feet
But when their rainbow wrapped him up
He knew that he�d been beat

Twilight said, �Don�t you dare return
And resume your chaotic rule.
If you didn�t know then, you sure know now
That friendship is magic, fool!�

And they sang

Princess Luna- "Looks like we might be due for a big old storm of chaos."

Rainbow Dash- "Oh, you must be Rainbow Dash, famed for her loyalty, the Element of Harmony you represent."

Rarity- "The beautiful Rarity, representing the element of generosity, if I'm not mistaken?"

Applejack- "Oh, I know much more than that, honest Applejack."

Twilight Sparkle- "Yes, Twilight Sparkle, and yours is the most powerful and elusive element, magic."

Fluttershy- "Fluttershy's is kindness..."

Pinkie Pie- "...and Pinkie Pie's is a personal favorite of mine - laughter."
