A blue-horned demon in denial, Barley is bartender in a trendy restaurant named The Glass Ceiling. His demonic blood means that he is always hot: he can't live without a/c. It's always cold in his apartment and at the bar where he works!

He's in denial about his demon side and wishes he was human. Barley doesn't align with good or bad, he's pretty caught up in his own problems.

Barley lives in the same city as Billie. She's an overworked city witch/detective and often comes by the bar for drinks. On quiet weeknights they often end up talking across the bar late into the night. (Barley is actually a total gossip.) He often tips Billie off on suspicious activity in the city and the whereabouts of certain individuals!
