Okay, now that I can make my pet a badger, this isn't that overpriced a feature.
Now that the "Subeta Species Equivalent" rule was revoked I can say that... THIS. is awesome. I believe the price is totally fair for what you get. If I ever had an overlay I loved, I would definitely want to see my pet all over the site that way. This is so crazy cool. THANK YOU!
This is fantastic! I cannot wait to display a commissioned pet overlay I received from official Subeta pet artist Hagane, for my pet Bip!
I won't be using this (I pick my pet colors because I like the art, I don't see a need to cover it up) but I agree that 1k CSC sounds perfectly fair to me.

I like the "change it as much as you want" part, but not being able to upload something that isn't a Subeta pet is kind of a bother, yeah..
Mhh. I'll consider it. CSC is way, way too inflated for me to even think about it at the moment..

awesome that this is being implemented, and I think it's a pretty fair price. Though I've only got two pets that I'm likely to end up using this on XD
great idea, but i wish it was cheaper or there was some kind of bulk purchase discount available. :) i have 17 pet slots and counting - there's a lot of pets i'd love to overlay but all together that's nearly a month's groceries.
1k csc is a perfectly fair price, especially when one considers that coding simplicity or not you're still covering up official site art on site, and having the site display your own personal creation which they never had to do in the first place. That said, I'm perfectly happy with having whatever overlays for my pets on their pet page only, and will likely never use this.

I can't believe 1k csc is considered unreasonable? Seems fair to me. Compare to other things 1k csc gets you on the site - two costume trunks, one and a bit custom wearables, part of a boutique set, half a pet slot, a username change etc etc. For the privilege of seeing your pet everywhere on the site as you want them to be seen, and everyone seeing the same... I don't see the problem.
I'm sorry, but for the CSC people pay for wardrobe items, potions, etc, this is a GREAT price for getting to upload your OWN overlay throughout the site. Now that the idea has been explained well (Thank you Rah - consider putting your explanation as to what this feature entails on the purchase page), I think this is a great idea, at a very reasonable price.
Oh wait, just read the rules. No kemonomimi? So we can use anthros, but only if they're furry all over? Any particular reason for that other than to be overly limiting? I mean, if it has Kumos/Celinox/Telenine/whatever ears and tail, it's still identifiable as that pet, isn't it?
hmmm I think it is kinda fair, if it was a way too acessible it could mess the potion market a little among other things, but if the majority wants a price change it is better to win less than win nothing. Also, I believe it would work better if you bought um, image slots instead of uploading the picture. So if your design changed you could submit a new image in the same slot instead of deleting and buying another upload again.
There's nooo way I'm paying 1000csc for this. I can really only see this being interesting if you use the pet leash, which I do not. I'll stick with free image overlays from tinypic.
LOL- I don't see much of anyone buying this overlay at 1,000 CSC.

Considering that they're allowing us to officially cover up their artwork- I think 1k is very fair. It /is/ expensive for a reason, because if it was cheaper, everyone could do it a lot easier, so this just makes it something you have to work for. Very cool idea, didn't think it would ever happen! But very nice they implemented it, thanks staff!
Oh, and I'm not speaking for staff, but I think if you make your pet a real life specie, it's okay as long as you don't hide the actual specie of the pet on the profile, since they already allow css overlays and all and a lot of people have real animals but keep the name of the specie on the page for official reference and not falsifying information.

Also by bucket, does it mean if say I have three overlays I can upload all three for 3000csc and be able to inter-change them at any time?
So excited for this! Tried doing it myself via css XD I think 1000csc is a bit steep though, 500csc would be perfect.
Expensive. So much for making each of my pets their own overlay at once. This is gonna cost me a fortune. :(
I didn't see anything mentioned in the rules about whether or not you can change the species of your pet to a real life animal through the overlays, is something like this allowed?(Doing something like turning a Kanis into a rabbit or a ruffie into some breed of dog, etc.)

I don't care what other people say, I think this is a fantastic idea! The price is fair, and the idea is amazing.

For those who aren't sure what this is - it's being able to upload your own custom image of your pet, and assign it to your pet. That image will then be seen all over the site in place of the official subeta pet art. So things like on your profile, on your pets' profile, in the sidebar widget, when you go to train your pet, when you battle your pet - it will all be your custom image that you see.
I, personally, liked the idea of uploading two versions of one pet. A static pose, and a 'battle' pose for when it comes around to battling! It's free to switch them around once you've uploaded both of them, that's just something I'm interested in doing for my own battle pet.

- It means if you move that pet to a new ID or decide to use that overlay for another pet you can do so freely since you only have to pay to upload an image once. However, the 1k csc is for a single overlay (so if you wanted to upload 30 overlays, it would be $300 XD)
- Everywhere the light touches and doesn't touch! Battling, training, it's profile, your pet page, your profile (if you have pets listed that way at least), the resort, job agency, spotlight wins, and everything else.
- Everyone will see it everywhere. On your profile, on the pet page, if they're creeping in your battle stats page (if you go creep on mine now you should see Christophe isn't a hydrus telly anymore, for example!), and on the news if it wins the spotlight c:
What about minion overlays? Or are you going to be charging $5 for that one? Can you cut your users some slack on the price here?

Huh? I dont get this...sounds like a waste of CSC to me. Id just rather upload the picture on photobucket and put the code in, or does this mean you have to pay 1000csc for the code to work now? Also, when is the next sticker coming out? Will it be one sticker per week?
