how does this advent work?
I think there should be more of an explanation for those of us who are horribly confused, such as myself. I'm still confused as to what the hay the other activities are, and the 'forward' button appears to be broken. This plot seems to have some holes that needs patching up ;; either way, good luck to those who are able to actually partake in this plot.

EDit; (hit add comment to soon)
I don't know for sure though, because...like always staff disappear or are intentionally vague when questions are asked.

does the 'forward' button have a purpose or is it just there to refresh the page/be another confusing button?

ok so we basically have to be lucky enough to be around when *~*things happen*~* in order to really participate beyond one thing. i don't expect to do everything in an event with my busy schedule, but it sure would be nice if i could participate by doing more than the food game once a day. i was looking forward to this event, but this has completely killed my excitement. you might also want to mention on the event page that this is time based, because having a confused audience who has no idea what to do isn't a great way to introduce a game. ;)
very, very poorly designed and unclear game/event so far. should have left this concept to oregon trail, who already did it successfully.

So it looks like I'm not getting any plot points if i need 5 tasks each day, and they only last like 45 minutes? D:

oh gosh... as a person with no job who stays home on the computer all day i didnt even realize how badly this could work out for the majority of the population. even if i am available all day im a little upset i missed some things because i did have responsibilities... must i shuffle them around subeta? i used to shuffle leisure around work and not the other way around.

I'm assuming that there will be multiple tasks throughout the day(s) and you have to complete 5 of those tasks a day, so if you miss one or two or whatever it'll be okay.

Also, are there going to be enough options for those people who don't happen to be on during the obstacles, or who miss the obstacles, to contribute a daily five points? Even if it's just by collecting food or supplies five times, or something. It would suck to lose out on team points due to timing problems, especially for those with busy lives. It is around the time to go back to school for a lot of people, after all..
I feel like it's mostly due to a lack of clarity in the blue info box that people are upset, because currently things seems very contingent on us having a lot of time to spend on Subeta. I don't think it's wrong to expect users to have to spend a little time on the event, if they're to expect prizes, but this seems to be fairly luck-based so far. Like, I've been online pretty much since this started but managed to miss the obstacles. I'm sure I'll be able to make up for it but that's because I have time both now and later to participate in obstacles, and a lot of users don't have that luxury.
I hope things can be smoothed out; the concept is fun and I'm excited to see what new things come of it! I just really hope you guys are able to find a way to make the event more fair to everyone, even with the time-based events. Maybe some additional fixed tasks could help, or something.

Where in the heck did it say with had to play Matlas Jewels??? I'm really tired of shooting fruit.

I guess the plot wasn't planned out so well :( I love the idea of it :D but I think the bugs should have been worked out before it was put on the site for play.
So I was hoping to participate in this but seeing as I have work and other responsibilities it doesn't sound like I'm gonna be able to :( Disappointing.
@Neverwhere - The Matlal's Jewels thing is over for now. Watch the event page so you can see when we hit our next obstacle, and it will tell you what you need to do to clear it (and get your activity point).

Okay, I'm at 2/5, where's the third task? Some people are saying we need to play Matlal's Jewels, so I played a few games, but I'm still at 2/5. Do you need to play Matlal's Jewels or not? And if we do, why was there nothing on the event page indicating that?
Is this going to be an event where you have to be on 24/7, refreshing the event page every few minutes? If so, that was not a good idea. Or are there going to be multiple obstacles throughout the day, and five is just the limit you can do? I sincerely hope it's the latter, because the first system is just not practical. People need to sleep, go to school, and go to work.
Please, someone tell me something. Trapped in darkness...

Dude, I don't have a job and stay at home all day and this STILL sucks for me because I have a ~2 year old. By Murphy's Law it's guaranteed that even though by all means I should be home and have access to a computer any time there's an obstacle, I'll miss it because my kid will have pushed a chair up to the counter again or something. +1 to no no no no no no what are you thinking you can't structure it like this! If you want to have "extra" as the description post suggests, make sure it's possible to at least definitely get the first 5 points!

Wow, I really hope what I'm reading about how I basically have to be online all day waiting for the chance to participate isn't true. I work and have other commitments, so I might only have a couple hours each day to sit down and play. By golly, I will borg the hell out of those two hours and do all the tasks you let me do, but I can't just be online all day long hoping for the chance to participate. This set up pretty much guarantees that I won't be able to even meet the minimum participation points each day, because you know...work comes first.
One of the things that doesn't work out well is that we have to deal with obstacles asap to get to the summit, but the faster the obstacles are dealt with, the less people get to accomplish an activity ouf ot the 5. So if you help out a lot, it's necessarily leaving your own teammates out. :(

We've moved the food game link outside of the food box! So it should be more obvious that you can click that but not energy. :)
Okay, this is BEYOND stupid. I am ready to just quit this event from sheer frustration. WHERE IS THE SECOND TASK???

I love the idea, I really do! But I don't think the event is designed to be accessible to everyone at the moment, which is a shame... I'm hopeful, though!
...So basically this entire plot is the equivalent of a boss fight where having an offline life could make you miss out? I seriously hope that is not the case and that there's some huge misunderstanding, otherwise... Yeesh.
I'm sorry but I'm confused here :c so far I've done 1/5 tasks, not sure how to do the others. I've read some of the comments and if we're expected to be on Subeta all day refreshing pages and the whatnot then I'll have to be counted out. I'm not only a full time college student, but I have a lot on my plate ;3; so I may not be able to even be apart of this event.

Last thing I'll post here.
I think things would have been better with set tasks... I know you don't want people sitting around doing them in five minutes but this way set up now leaves so many people open to missing out on things.
Let the food game remain a big staple but please give us fixed tasks to do along with the obstacles. You can make each thing count once so if someone WANTS to wait and do obstacles they can get their points that way.. and if they miss out well they have a list to fall back on and complete so they have their day done.
I hope that makes sense. Good luck everyone.

seriously? people cant just sit on their computers waiting all day in hopes of freaking completing all 5...subeta has never been the kind of game you cant walk away from for a bit in fear of missing something like a plot. many of us are adults, with families, jobs, and who need to freaking sleep.

How is this event supposed to work? Do we have to stay on the "On the Trail" page all day? If so that is not going to be possible people who cannot be on Subeta all day. How are we supposed to complete objectives? How do we get food? Is there no one that has answers?
This is very disappointing. I hope we get some kind of update on how all this works soon.

Basically all of it, as far as I can tell. If there's no obstacle currently, then you can only play the fruit game (I don't know for sure if it continues to count, but I think so?)I'm pretty confused, gotta admit. How much of this is going to depend on our being here for when obstacles are hit?
Obstacles seem to be fairly rare, and so far they don't seem to last very long. If you don't have a lot of time to spend on Subeta, it looks like it's going to be hard to get all your points each day.
Far more appropriate tents, a better moral goal (even if we have a worse native to deal with), and the title of Adventure Captain.... What's not to love? ;p I'm glad I decided to join Team Steele. I almost joined Team Gold, but then I thought about all of the other times I've played with only the rewards in mind..... Every time I've wound up screwing myself over! This time I decided to forget the rewards and play the game for the game, and so far I think it's paying off.
Team Steele for the win! Let's knock the socks off of Team Gold!

Can we please have some info to let us know if we will be able to complete all 5 tasks if we have to go to bed now? In Europe it is 1.30 am in the morning? Just a bit of reassurance that we will have a chance to take an equal part would be helpful thanks

a few things to say here:
1) "Happy trailing, and try not to die of dysentery!"
good vibes
2) i see a lot of team steele spirit but how about team gold spirit??? if this were a pep rally we'd be losing :weary:
3) am i the only person who didn't play that trail game? i know what it is and all but RIP we gon' have a bad time saggi, i probably shouldn't be "trail supervisor".

Okay, no, this is horribly designed, what the fuck. I'm not sitting there refreshing all day! I'd gladly do a thing like the raffle task list, but this is absurd. I can't believe my Matlal's Jewels game didn't even count because I apparently played it too late. Also... constant refreshing? Do you want the site to go down? Because that's how you get the site to go down.
I'm still stuck on 1/5 tasks and haven't got an event for maps or matlal's jewels :c please don't be broken.
It's nice that the staff is under the assumption that its player base is made up of people who have no jobs, don't go to school, have no other responsibilities or engagements, and don't sleep.

also lol no, this is not oregon trail, that had actual structure xD like supply lists (would have been awesome to do something like that in the future, just saying)
ok now for reals night night good luck poor adventuring souls
So I need to do five activitys a day to get any points but the activitys themselves are going to be at intervalls and there is no garuntee they will be happening when I am online? I hope there is enough in a day for me to catch.
@Jessica - Matlal's Jewels is part of an obstacle/event where your path is blocked by Xotls. It'll tell you about it on the main event page so you'll know what you need to do. I don't think playing the game counts unless you're currently blocked by Xotls.
Basically just keep an eye on the event page and you'll see when your team runs into an obstacle and you need to do something.

Okay, so the third task is playing Matlal's Jewels? There's no indication that I need to play it on the trail page
