It may be hard to adhere to that last part, after such a year especially. But we will remember, and we will learn from and love what we've been given by people that we may never have met, but touched our hearts and lives none the less.

HOLY CRAP! Her mother just died today... One day apart, jeez. Anyone else heard of another celebrity duo that died mere dayz apart?
I saw her mom died. So sad. She was the grandma in the Halloween town movies. Ones my family watches every Halloween. RIP both Carrie and Debbie.
And we just lost her mother as well an hour ago to a stroke caused from the stress of loosing her daughter....

My favorite Carrie Fisher role was the one where she played a beautiful, beloved actress who spoke openly about subjects that are still touchy in 2016. Honor her memory, don't be a jerk to people with mental illness. Educate yourself. For the love of Leia, stop calling people psycho because they have to take medication.

One last really nasty blow in 2016 :( I was waiting for this tribute all day and I was really happy/upset when I finally saw it after work, such a gorgeous tribute <3 Thank you guys.
I'm done with 2016!This has had to been one of the shittiest years yet right along with 2015 and 2011.We have lost so many beloved celebrities this year.On that note,I lost a couple of beloved pets because of some shitty neighbors decided to switch with their father that lived next door to me.I lost a cat to a poisonous snake in our yard,because they let their yard become overgrown with weeds and tall grass for three months.Then they were finally forced to mow it by the city,probably because the neighbors both behind them and on the other side of them complained.
Then,another cat was hit by a car in the early morning hours, all because they same stupid neighbors keep leaving out this dog in the front yard to run around all over the neighborhood and our yard.I know it had to have ran our cat out of our yard and into the street,because it was the only dog running lose at the time period.They won't fix a place in their fenced in back yard either.Either ways,fuck you 2016!You were nothing but toxic hellhole year.Good riddance,I will miss you not.RIP Carrie Fisher.So sad you are now gone from us.

Thank you so much for this touching tribute, Subeta. As the news broke earlier today, I was shocked, saddened, and didn't want to believe it. After news of her condition stabilizing, I genuinely thought that she was going to pull through and that I would see her making her emoji tweets after the new year. She has been such an inspiration to me and to so many others over so many, inside and outside Star Wars, and she will be so dearly missed. Rest in peace, Carrie. ♥️

I had gone to bed earlier, after having had to deal with a doctor's appointment where I found out in the waiting room that Carrie had died. While I had found her in Star Wars, and connected well with her character of Princess Leia, it was Fisher's openness about her battle with mental health that really made her become incredibly special to me; there were so many similarities to my own issues (I actually was eventually diagnosed with bipolar, but the time I'm talking of here was right after high school, during the late 90s), and the fact that she managed to get through worse, and turn out to be so incredible made me believe I could deal with my own issues, and maybe hopefully turn out to be at least half as awesome as she was. So finding out that she did, in fact, never wake up after losing consciousness on the plane in LA hit pretty hard - I downed a pint of Ben & Jerry's, and just had to take a nap.
And I expected there to be something here when I woke up. There is no disappointment. I knew the item wouldn't be something Star Wars - the Subeta Team is far too creative and far to clever for that. Instead, it's an amazingly accurate tribute, that highlights the best of Carrie in ways that so many other places are failing to do. You guys nailed it again, @SubetaTeam - I'm crying when I thought I was out of tears, and it's another tribute item that I'll never get rid of.

I lost my Gran on sept. 25. I lost my Mom on Sept. 28. Put my Mom's old dog Sandy down the following Monday as she could hardly move and she was in a lot of pain. I lost my Aunt Bev on Dec. 13. I lost my PopPop on Dec 19. I lost a friend on Dec. 21.

I am in the middle of her book Wishful Drinking and she was such a funny and outspoken woman who was brutally honest about the struggles she faced and her outlook on them. A heartbreaking loss for so very many reasons.

I can't even. :( Lumi I tried to not Let The Sun Go Down On Me and the other day when Carrie was taken to the hospital I prayed and prayed that night that she would be okay. :( Thank you for speaking out about your experiences living with Bipolar Disorder and advocating mental illness. You were an inspiration to me far beyond film. (although Star Wars :heart: always) RIP. :(
2016 has been a rough year. For me I lost my mom in November and my one dog of 10 years at start of December. And all the celebrities. 2016 just sucks.
This made me cry again. Such a great tribute! I don't know who wrote the description but it is amazing. It fits her entirely. My brother came to know Carrie in a program they were in and told me she was one of the greatest people he had ever known.
