Experiment Pet Poll Results
Well, future customers and most excellent funders of the One True Zapper. I have quite some news for you. Thanks to your generosity, I find myself practically
- Experiment #2759 with 870,500,000
- Experiment #5162 with 857,100,000
- Experiment #3485 with 302,100,000
- Experiment #0101 with 248,350,000
- Experiment #870 with 208,100,000
As you can see, there were two contenders that zapped into the lead and - to let you in on a little behind the scenes fun - remained very much neck and neck throughout the donation period. It was very tense.
The donations were so high, in fact, that I believe I may be able to turn BOTH of these top contenders into full pets. I know, I said I would only do one! But I’m Euclid, the all powerful scientist - do you really want me to hold back on my constant and changing whims? Plus, the blob will be easy. Nobody is going to be worried about if its legs look anatomically correct or if it has furboobs.
So look forward to your future pets! Now I just need to come up with a name for them. I’m currently leaning towards ‘peabomination' and ‘blobface' but who knows what will happen while I’m tweaking my zapper. That’s not a euphemism. Get your mind out of the gutter. Maybe if you shout some suggestions at me some of them will influence my decisions. I can’t do all the work, people.

I suck at names :s I really wanted #3485 to win so I could colour my dear KalaMari, buuuut, I am excited to see the peafowl in different colours.

I think maybe another vote is in order for the names of these two specimens. Lots of great names for the peacock and blob just makes sense.
Thanks for completely trivializing the fact that I used a Miracle Potion II to get a #2759 and it was the pet I was most fond of because of it's rarity and beauty. This had better be worth it.
My heart was set on the Pangyball...but I really do want to see the full range of colourations for the Peahenny and the Blobbule now =D

Wow, I'm quite surprised at the results. Based off comments on the original new post I assumed Squid would win hands down.. they didn't even stand a chance.

This always happens on this site whenever people don't get their way. I'm not saying the donation poll was the best option for voting, but there's no need to trash talk other players who voted for a pet you don't like and say that they have trash taste.
Personally, I've always kinda hated the peacock experiment and don't get why it's so popular, but so many of you love it so whatever. People will be happy, so great! If you don't like that pet or the blob one, or any of the other pets, you don't have to get one!
As for the lore for the blob, it's literally an experiment that got turned into a pet. That is its lore. The Qrykee is different because it was technically an undiscovered species that the zapper picked up on and they thought was an experiment until the discovery of the Sewer Beast. It even mentions that in the Subetapedia article. The blob and the peacock pet are different, so they don't need an origin story like the other pets of what land they come from because that's not their origin story...

Well I mean yeah, how could you expect people not to be "salty"? This voting system couldn't possibly represent the majority vote. Someone in the comments donated 200mil to their favourite pet. I personally don't even have half of that, let alone enough sP to make my vote count in the slightest - and I'm sure that's how a lot of people are feeling.

The sand cat was the only one that really interested me, but I suspected it probably wouldn't win :( so didn't sink a lot of sp into this. It was clearly meant as just that, an sp sink, rather than a fair poll for users to pick vote for their favorite new pet which is fine and all, but still, disappointing at the same time. I'd like to be able to feel like my votes mattered, without saying, okay I need to sell everything of value I own on my account in order to possibly make that true.

Okay so I read a few of the news comments and I can't pong anyone because I'm on my phone so this is probably just going in to the void for no one to see.... buttttt
Regarding the blob being a bad pet because failed experiment isn't a valid background option anymore ... literally that is still what it started is? Euclid isn't rewriting history lol he just got the funding to tune his zapper so that he can select which failed experiment to use. Sometimes.
Although I secretly hope all of the blob special colors are super boring and not the rando silly things people suggested. That is the punshiment blob voters deserve for not voting for the squid.

Aww, squiddy didn't win. :( But at least we actually get two being made into pets rather than one and they both have interesting potential. And I was honestly not expecting the blob to have so many votes, but I look forward to seeing what they'll do with it, so I personally will cut blobby some slack. Hopefully in the future squiddy will get another chance..
Thank god the sand cat did not win. It's strength is that it looks like it got hit by the zapper, unlike the others. Kind of sad the pangolin didn't win, but the deer-peacock has always been a favorite of mine, so it balances out.

Question for Staff: will the winning experiments still exist as experiments? Or will they turn into the "common" form of the new pet species?

- There was going to be only one winner, but due to the close vote, #5162 is being thrown in as well. This is E X T R A.
- #2759 came in first. Getting #5162 too doesn't affect the rest. Whether the runner-up was acknowledged or not, the others still didn't make it.
- Some have suggested that #5162 got votes for being funny. I don't see a problem with this. There are many reasons someone may like a certain pet, because it looks pretty or fierce or cute or scary. Funny is as valid a reason as any other.
- "You can't do anything with it" is just not true. The simplicity and versatility of the blob provides unlimited opportunities for the artist/s to get really creative with some of the designs. And recolours of the standard design allow for users to make themed/tribute pets that couldn't be done any other way.
- We should practice diplomacy here. It is possible to express our own preferences without bashing others for theirs.
I would have been happy with any of them winning except for the squid, tbh.

I had a feeling the peacock would win, but I'm pleased (and pleasantly surprised) to see the blob coming second :D I'm already looking forward to seeing the Subeta artists' creativity in doing those non-colourfill colours :D

You have nothing to whine about. This is one of the easiest sites to make money on, and you had plenty of time to make some to contribute to the pet you wanted.

Instead of complaining about something, do something about it.
I spent months zapping hardcover, spent millions on experimental dew, and eventually ended up using a miracle potion but you don't see me complaining about it becoming a real species.
Go outside or something. You're all entirely too entitled.
