Quest-A-Thon: Extension!

Due to the recent lag the past few days, we’ve decided to extend the Quest-A-Thon by one day. That means you have until 11:59pm on August 28th to get 1,000,000 quests done. The weekend quests and possibly retired holiday items will also last until the end!
Just a reminder that if the goal is completed, everyone that has participated will receive 1 new pet slot, the forum title "Sir Quest A Lot", 5 Raffle Tickets, and 1 Referral point.

was off all afternoon and came back this hour to check so I wouldn't bog down the servers 999,274quests 7min left ;~;
let's sign off and let people finish questing

Maleria gave me 750sp for a 4 second quest. Think she's sick of all of us? All done for the day! So close.......

Yeyyy I choose a good weekend to be bored and come back, I've done about 3 days of all the quest now o/ gogogo almost there!

Thank you Staff for the extra day. We have to go less than 36,000 quests to go until we got the 1,000,000.

Appreciate the extra time for quests but for me the majority of the lag hits when I try to battle which is frustrating.
Ooooh, I like the idea of those who do more getting a bit extra. Another forum title or a couple more forum points or something, perhaps. That would be a great incentive to get people to all chip in :)

we might have managed anyway (emphasis on "might") but the extension means we can definitely breathe easier! thanks staff :raised_hands:

My dudes, it just took a page 7mins to load.
Net neutrality got me shook. XD
TY for more time! We love you.

I know questing can be the most boring thing ever but I believe in you guys we can do this!
I usually find questing less painful when I do it while watching TV

Personal milestones would be fun :) Something like that would motivate me more, b/c I agree with what others have said about questing be quite boring.
I'm glad we got one more day :D! Let's go!

wooo! I can finally quest and am happy that we have one more day. I'm way more likely to try to do ALL the quests when they are weekend, though I try my best to participate as much as i can, it gets tedious and I haven't found a way to quest from my phone which right now is my main access point.
Yeah I do get that. I don't mind quests, but they ARE exceptionally boring, and I definitely think it'd be terrible to have prizes only awarded to people who do the max quests. I just don't think people who only do one quest deserve all the prizes. :P But maybe future ones could be a major drills kind of deal? Where people have the option to do # quests OR # battles OR # game points OR other stuff like that? It might be harder to code, but I think it'd be more fun if people were able to choose to do the type of activity they enjoy most on the site. (Also, battle quests should be included in the quest count.)

I couldn't quest the whole week, so I did some quests yesterday and all today. Hope that helps!

I don't think that there are that many people just doing one quest and then, doing nothing for the rest of the event. I've barely seen people saying they do this.
Really, considering how questing is implemented as a core mechanic of the site, people who don't quest are a rarity.

I see what you mean, bonecrivain, but if we go with a 10 quest minimum you're going to have people who go "10 quests isn't enough, it should be 25 quests!"
And then, it's going to be "People who only do 25 quests are freeloaders, it's not even a full day of quests, it should be a 100!"
We're going to go and deal with escalation if we start because some people are never happy.
Questing can rot. I hate the mechanics, I hate how samey it is, I dislike how grindy it is. I will never enjoy it. Ever. I still do a couple because it's a group effort and all, but I won't do thousands of them over 10 days. It's too dull.
Besides, most people do quests daily, so it's already part of their routine. The thing the Quest-a-Thon should do is encourage people like me, who don't quest, to do it.
I said it earlier, I still find the quests too cookie-cutter to be fun. So, I obviously won't do 500 of them. And, when even a free pet slot is not enough to motivate you into doing something, well..

@bonecrivain I'll reiterate what I've said before, having the one quest requirement is actually good. A lot of people do more than one quest. By having a low requirement, there isn't pressure to do every single quest or doesn't make someone feel bad for not being able to help out as much. It's like @Sopheroo said, it's a group effort and very much "every bit helps". :)
No, I'm not saying the requirement should be to do all the quests every day. I just said I don't do that because real life is too busy. I said the requirement should be raised from 1 quest to something more reasonable. (Even 10 or 20?) People who do 1 quest and then disappear and let everyone else do all the work don't add anything substantial to the total. I think there's a way to balance it so people have to put in SOME effort to earn the prize, without it being an overwhelming ask.

Then, the people who are going to do 1 or 10 or 20 quests are going to do 0 because they don't like questing, meaning that the odds to achieve the goal will be lower. Can we also remove the "one quest gets you all the prizes" part? I admit I haven't been able to do my full set of quests every day (I work full time and this pet site is a hobby, not a second job), but it's absurd that people can do one quest, then sit back and watch others work hard to get them the prizes.
The point of the Quest-a-Thon is "every bit helps" not "only people who do all the quests every day matter"

2 events at one time might have been ok, but the gelatin wars take its toll on the servers without anything else going on. It seems the last hour or two (when people are trying to cram in quests before midnight) is the worst with lag/errors.
So I'm really happy to hear about the extension ^-^ hugs

Hooray! We might actually do it, then! Thank you!
(also thank you for reminding me I need to pay my bills which are also due the 28th)
