The Skedhu

You're at Medicontra, picking up Ian’s prescription for him; Part of you feels that he might be exploiting your good nature, but you choose to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The pharmacist said that it would be ready in about 15 minutes, so you are killing time, absently perusing the aisles, when you come across a selection of greeting cards and magazines. You think of the Dungarde, alone in the crypt - would it like something to read? Can it read? And on another note that strikes you as hilariously absurdist, what kind of thing would a deathless guardian creature like to read?

You gather a selection of magazines for a wide range of interests; In the stack, you have fashion, cars, outdoorsman, cooking, and even a bridal magazine. You top the pile with a monthly anthology of short stories just as Ian's name is called for pickup.

Time to go back to Skelly Manor!

Has anyone figured out the new blueprint genetech combos that were visible when you explored the house?

@Persika a valid Peg Solitaire move goes from the peg you choose over another peg and then into an empty hole. The very first move you make, the ending hole, this is not a surprise. There's only one destination! Nevertheless you need to tell the game that's where you want to move one of the four pegs you can move. So your first red square you pick, this is a peg, the second red square is a hole you mean it to jump another peg towards.

Nidoqueen

please tell me i'm not the only one who thought of this
0

Persika

The peg solitaire game is not working or I'm doing it wrong. Lol. I click on a piece and nothing happens but a red box appears around it. When I click on another piece, the box moves, but that's it. I'm not sure what I'm doing;;

Love the puzzles! EASIEST! Keep going for the next event. I love escape room / puzzles to crack so much!

Ephemera_527

I hate puzzles...>_<
I don't even understand what should I do with that...
0

Funkykitsune

I detect difficult choices ahead...

jKat

Can anyone recommend a better puzzle solution site for the solataire puzzle. Im lost once I have to turn the puzzle on its side.

intermission

wait i got it omg the brain jumped in
1

intermission

i can't solve slide puzzles even with a guide. please give me plot points for admitting this.

Memo to self: Next year, train pets hardcore in order to actually make a dent on the plot opponents XD
((I know it wasn't mandatory to battle, but still...I'd like to be able to fight those 1000HP+ opponents without going "Welp that's us out :'D" all the time lol))

I do like the Dungarde though; his interactions with us are adorable...but still sinister in its hintings towards Jaxon and Ian.
I love plots that are interactive like this, thank you to the Staff for creating and planning such an immersive one for 2018 <3

MoonCat83

You know, this whole Skedhu/mirror thing may be related in some way to this year's Cash Shop opponents. I mean, what if the Skedhu reflects and manifests your worst fear? Just a thought.
1

Jestro

@ the Dungarde's words about ian better not be implying waht i think it's implying bc i will fcking scream
4

Rumi

I am really enjoying the puzzles with this plot :)
1

SongSparra

I was wondering if I was the only one pondering (while in stitches of laughter) the magazine dilemma, I'm glad to know I was not alone and all you fellow TOT-ies were thinking along the same lines. Now as long as our new "meet my little friend" doesn't turn on us and use the culinary mag to our 'disadvantage'.
0

Terra

Buying the Dungarde reading materials is such a good idea. I'm so glad "I" thought of it. :P
1

Solsticesprite

You are welcome.

I'm thinking the interior design ones will allow the escaped Dungarde to create a new temple to Merana out of those suspicious crystals that were in Saherimos and the Omens.
0

Runes

I wonder which of the magazines he will enjoy reading? Maybe he'll be inspired by those interior design ones and use the tomb that he's used to for inspiration for some crazy crystal-infused living space?
0

Nordi

Yeah, I've got the Domed, Vase and Squat ones so far. I still have to get the one form the Thomasin (I think) puzzle. And I've locked mine just in case (you never know). :P
0

Solas

Thank You @Solsticesprite You have saved me from worrying if I lost one :o
0

Solas

@Nordi That is true, my give them to my pet Ankou, if we get to keep them, I also got them locked and do you have 3 also?
0

Solsticesprite

#ankou I am Locking my reliquaries in my Inventory when I get them, I only have three.
0

Nordi

@Ankou
Also, you should only have 3 reliquaries (despite 4 plot steps so far) because there was no puzzle in the 1st plot step (except the gauge thingy, but that doesn't really count as a puzzle). So we'll get the 4th reliquary in the next step (Monday I presume). :D
0

Nordi

@Ankou
Not sure. Bug mentioned that "if you delete or lose the item, that won't affect your ability to progress in the plot" (also that you can file a ticket if you somehow accidentally delete/lose the item) but I'd keep them and lock them in my inventory just in case (besides, they make a great a great addition to a gallery/TC). :D

I guess they could just be some kind of trophies, but then that makes me think why they'd make them account-bound for the duration of the plot.
0

Solas

@Solsticesprite Do you have 3 also? I thought I had 4, but can't find it.
0

Solsticesprite

@ankou in the normal course of Subetan events, humans don't fight pets do (and humans don't eat but pets do). So what has happened to NPC Ian Asmodeus' rreign Curie?

Me I think the reliquaries are for depositions of new body parts.
0

Solas

@Nordi Would you know if they are still needed?
0

Nordi

@Ankou
You get one reliquary after completing each puzzle. The reliquaries are account-bount for the duration of the plot. :)
0

Solas

Also just random thought, but why do I have 3 Reliquary things in my inventory?
0

Solas

All I got to say about the body parts thing, is that gives me the wiggins *sounds like something from Buffy*
0

Solsticesprite

@Allaconna my headcanon is darker than yours. I think normally a family dungarde takes a piece of the firstborn's heart. This plot is body-parts heavy after all. But there will be no first-born with Jaxon and Ian which is why it doesn't like him.
0

Solsticesprite

@ankou only the very first weakest Challenger was site-event-necessary. But if you beat up the other Challengers you get sP and EXP and fifth win loot drop. I also am guessing that it's likely there will be a prize associated with beating the Challenger for each pet that does beat it based on past site event awards and the way that the BAs think.
0

Raevyn

Okay, A, curse you, slider puzzle! I got it but dang that was annoying! B... Whyyyy am I being filled with a great sense of foreboding over this. Ian's going to have a major choice to make? And why does this thing make me think maybe it's the Skedhu? I mean, Skedhu means mirror, Jaxon said.. Or worse yet, that BAD STUFF IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO IAN? Nuuuuuuu...
(Also I legit LOL'd at today's prize.)

And let me say I'm being kind of a jerk
Tossing things to people and throwing bags on the floor at other people's homes

Have some manners, me
4

Deertaur

i feel like im being led into a false sense of security w/ this plot line and i don't trust one second of it. Please let the boys be happy.
6

It's ok Dungarde Ian makes me uncomfortable too

damn guys do i look like i'm made out of money
11

beinagrind

@goniochromism
Yeah i just ended up following a youtube video step by step after trying 5000 different ways lmao
1

Ossuary

@Jena i think you have to use all the pieces, but i'm not totally sure.
and no problem!
0

Jena

ah ok is it a certin number of peices that your supposed to use besides not crossing the black circles? @goniochromism
also thanks for your help
0

Ossuary

@Jena if it refuses to let you click more, either something's up with flash or you've made a mistake. you're not supposed to let the path cross the black circles.

@beinagrind it requires a pretty involved solution to solve "right", aka with the marble in the middle, but my advice [other than 'look up a peg solitaire guide'] is to start with jumping the leftmost moveable marble into the center and make sure not to leave any too far from the center.
2

Jena

@goniochromism
I clicked on the 1st peice its not letting me click on another peice any advice
0

Ossuary

@Jena you just click them.
0

Jena

for the pipe glowing pink puzzle do you just click and drag the peices or just click them?

Johnny_673

>> sends Jaxon into another dimension

3

Solas

@Bliss Welcome :D @Allegria Thank You for telling me, also got told the same thing by a friend.
0

Bliss

@Ankou @Goblin

Thanks! I can't seem to solve the puzzle for the life of me and right now... I'm trying to not use my hand as much because of a severe tendonitis flare in my dominate hand (right).
0

Allegria

@Ankou You'll be fine. The only mandatory challenger was the first one that was easy enough for everyone to get at least one win on it.
0

beinagrind

quick question is the marble game impossible or am a stupit
3

Solas

@Goblin I think you get added plot points for finishing any puzzles, I think anyway.
0

Goblin

@Bliss I skipped it and still got the day 4 achievement and a plushie. I'm not sure if there's additional prizes if you do the puzzle. The SKIP pop-up said I won't be able to go back to the puzzle; didn't say anything about missing out on achievements/prizes. Maybe it depends on the day (?) I wish I had a solid answer for you!
0

Solas

Just wondering if the hidden challenger I got needs to be beat for the plot or not? I ask cause it just handed me my pet Ankou back unconscious :o
0

Bliss

@Goblin
If you skip the slide puzzle... do you still get the achievements for participating in the plot?

@Amber
0

Bliss

I'm still stuck on the puzzle LOL
0

Goblin

If I never see a slide puzzle for the remainder of my life I will die happy. *clicks skip puzzle*
4

Allaconna

@Solsticesprite

Yes, Jaxon is, but Connor isn't. And Skelly blood runs through his body. And from what I understand the guardian can't be set free until the bloodline has died out. But I hope I'm wrong.
5

DarkVixen28

All I'm envisioning now is the Dungarde deciding to stick around so it can be a wedding planner.
I don't plan to get married, Dungarde, but I'll pay you to plan out a delightfully creepy wedding anyway!

I'm getting a rather ominous feeling about all this now. *squints at Subeta*
1

Solsticesprite

@Allaconna of course it's gonna end badly. But Jaxon is already dead.

@Dice I also use Chrome it sounds like a Flash permissions thing. You may need to click the lock or symbol to the left of any Subeta URL and it will open out a small box with Site Settings as one of the three choices. Scroll down to Flash permissions. For Neopets I have Flash as always on, but for Subeta choosing Ask worksmost of the time. Try changing it to always on, or change it to Ask if you like to shut Flash down entirely (and who would blame you).
0

Tarnished

lord i feel more attached to this Dungarde than i ever have to jaxon & ian lmao
enjoy your wedding magazine my pal
17

Carlita

Nevermind! I got it xD. I read the comments but my english is so bad xD. he only thing you have to do is avoid those darker circles.
0

Carlita

@Bordeaux

Same here. It happens me with almost all puzzles. I really want to complete at least one more and no skip it :c
0

penelope

Done with the plot today in 2 seconds ;___;

PLEASE SIR CAN I HAVE SOME MORE
13

Vaixation

Oh please Subeta let us be able to do all the puzzles by the end of the event! *excited* I'm glad there's an option for people to skip them though if people aren't too keen on them. Not everyone's a puzzle-enthusiast! But personally I'm having so much fun on them. :'D I grew up with Zelda as my childhood, so puzzles like these always have a sense of nostalgia and fun to me! Delightful! Bless whichever one of you staff member(s) came up with these, they're great! :'D

Donteatacowman

This is so cute and thoughtful of us! We're such a good person. :)
5

Solas

I love the comment by @Sketch *omg I still can't stop laughing*
0

Blackjack

Okay, now all I can picture is the Dungarde in a wedding dress. Thanks for that.
22

Allaconna

I don't like where this story is going. I fear it will end badly. Are we going to lose another subeta resident?
3

Cresenta

Unlocked The Skedhu!
Complete day 4 of the Morostide 2018 plot!

Woot! Excited to see what's next! :D
2

Tserel

The dungarde is so good, I want to believe in them :C
5

HYPEBEAST

I've skipped 3/4 puzzles. I don't even care about plot prizes anymore. All hope is lost already XD
2

Dice

It's ok! Turns out changing browsers fixed it (was using Chrome, ended up using Firefox). Annoying, but at least I don't have to rage-quit.
0

Calm

Aww, I love this intro text. Buying magazines for the Dungarde and picking up Ian's meds for him (in a different part of Subeta, no less)? I am such a good person! XD
7

Greg

@Sketch how to delete someone else's comment
13

Diprosopus

um that's so sweet?????? let my boy dungaroo read
8

Sketch

The magazine that really matters is strategically tucked and hidden between all the others, right?
23

Solsticesprite

Oftentimes Morostide Candy comes cheaply as ToT continues, and now I want a box for putting discount seasonal candies in
7

Balloon

*small blue balloon wearily tugs a paper bag full of magazines from Saherimos to Shadowglen*

I love how I have to go to a different continent to get Ian's meds XD
16

Dice

@Solsticesprite It's the second board I'm stuck on. "Failing" doesn't take me back to the first board. I've tried every iteration I can think of (it's not a difficult board, I'm not trying anything obtuse). I've tried using the solution in the spoilers. Nothing.
0

Greg

Ok the story keeps getting more interesting and I don't want to wait
6

Solsticesprite

@Dice your solution might not be one of the ones the puzzle setters thought of? If you fail at any board it starts you over and you have to create five more lines without mistake. If it's giving you the same board it may be setting you the exact same puzzle five times? In that case, keep on keeping on. Try one of the solutions given in the spoiler thread in the Morostide forum

@Bordeaux you are welcome.
0

Dice

I can't get past the second stage of Thomasin's puzzle. I link it all together and the skull lights up but when I click check, it just gives me the same board again no matter how many times I do it.
0

Bordeaux

@Solsticesprite Yes! Ok I see them now. My screen wasn't bright enough. Thanks!! :)
0

Solsticesprite

@Bordeaux there are some black circles on the map with extremely low contrast to the rest of the puzzle. You can't make a path through them, you have to go around.

I found it helped to make the game screen as big as possible and even then I had to memorize certain boards. And yes, you need to start over to make five paths if you fail, so you will get the chance to memorize where those doddrodded black circles are.
2

Solsticesprite

"the pharmacist"?! She has a name.
---

Peg Solitaire is not Chinese.
0

Bordeaux

Is there some sort of trick to the Thomasin puzzle? I selected the first piece and now it won't let me select the next one. It's like they aren't clickable anymore. Am I doing something wrong?
2

Solas

I don't know how to play the Chinese marble thing *sigh*
0

Saix

Aw. Buying him magazines of all things. Cute
1

Amber

casually buy all of book nook for bff dungarde
23

SYLVAN

Sweet, let the puzzling begin.
0

Dr.Oru

My good nature? Aha, please.
Though I'd totally take something for Mister D. Dungarde to read, like a newspaper.
