Stay Healthy!

Since we'll all be inside anyway, we're going to try to make some excitement on Subeta!

@Kristine - I have seen a couple local places offering free lunches for school children who are impacted in this way. Please keep an eye and ear out in case somewhere local for you is doing this. <3

"Self-isolation":
– Boring, clinical
– Following the orders of a government
– Nobody will notice your effort
"Exiled for the good of the realm"
– Mysterious
– Sexy
– Everyone will wonder what you did

This worldwide panic and buying the whole supply of TP just shows how dirty most people are.
If you have a roof over your head, don't worry about lack of TP: just wash your butt after you use the toilet ;) Since you'll be staying home, it doesn't matter if you spend 5 more minutes in the bathroom ;)
if you don't have a roof over your head, then the above doesn't apply to you unless you can somehow wash your bum once you're done with the toilet. - say by having a small bottle with water with you in the cubicle.

I live in Iowa where they have just closed schools for at least the next four weeks. I am a grandmother who is raising my granddaughter, We rely heavily on the free breakfast and lunch programs to make our grocery budget last all month long. Now we have to come up with an extra 40 meals over the next month because those free breakfast and lunches wont be provided for her. I am so worried about where that extra income for groceries is going to come from now. In addition to everyday stress and the stress of the pandemic. Something exciting and fun on this site would be a very very welcomed distraction. Thank you

I wonder what this excitement is? I doubt it's a plot, but maybe a small event? Having NPC threads in the forums again? Starting Masquerade early? I can't wait to find out.
Things are fine for me so far, but I'm still worried about not being able to leave the house, I take the outdoors for granted too much and the idea of missing out on it scares me.

Stay safe everyone! And for those in need of basics like TP/dried goods/cleaners, right now is an excellent time to get acquainted with your local Asian grocery market. In my neck of the woods it was pointed out that all the racist xenophobes won't shop there right now, so they're still fully stocked with everything from food to household cleaners and paper products. And they can really use the financial support right now due to the lack of business many are seeing.

stuck working..apparently cafes are exempt from social distancing :( stay safe y'all, trying to stay sane here!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but don't follow the tip recommending you use wipes if you can't find tp. You cannot flush those as they play total havoc on the sewer system.

well I work in an auto parts factory and as far as I know I am still scheduled for my 4 12 hour shifts this week. My workplace does not offer paid sick leave or anything like that, so I really can't afford for them to shut down right now.

Impromptu Poll Time Subeta!
Do you wash your hands like this?Choice A
Choice B

Can't wait! I think we can all use a fun distraction right now.
Thank You Subeta and stay safe everyone!

Thank you for the happy distractions ❤️ I’m so glad I came back last year.
A tip: if you need TP and they are out, check for wet wipes

Yay! I was just wondering about this. So nice to have something fun to look forward to during this craziness.

I work from home anyway, but I'm in favor. Especially if it starts later in the week, when hopefully I'll have slayed the dragon I'm going to be working on this week.

Good thing Masquerade is virtual and we can gather socially online!
Take care of yourself by eating healthy, washing your hands, practicing good hygiene, and NOT SHAKING OTHERS HANDS!

Ooh, looking forward to Subeta excitement!
I expect another week in the office and then they'll have those of us that can telecommute do so. It's been so hectic since this all started :o

Excitement! What kind of excitement???? Can't wait!
On a side note...kids are home here in Ontario until April 5th, at least, and I'm off from McMaster University until....probably the spring session. So....nothing overly time consuming please for us parents with kids, as we need to spend time with them and keep Subeta as an entertainment factor in our lives. ;)

I actually am in the business of distribution of toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, diapers, and wipes. It's been a wild week let me tell you, but I promise we are hard at work getting product on every shelf for every person to have what they need. Hang tight ya'll and be safe. <3

Thank you to think of us. Stay safe and health everybody! And stay home as much as you can.

Also a friendly reminder that you should be washing your hands regularly anyway, even when there isn't a pandemic going on ~

God bless you, Subeta. I'm miserably sitting here, trying to recover from getting my tonsils removed, and getting all the side-looks whenever I clear my throat. And of course I cannot make a doctor's appointment, they are full up for like 6 months . . .

@Jazmine i'm sorry for that :( i hope you get better soon
Lots of love and prayers too and sending hugs ! :) <3

This is AWESOME, providing us entertainment, since it's not like we can go out and have fun! Thank you all for planning this. It's a great way to help!
I'm a healthcare worker, and I have something to add to the list of excellent advice here. Here goes:
One of the most important things that you can do right now to keep yourself, your friends, your family and your colleagues healthy is to make sure that you are getting your information about the situation from reliable sources.
Get your information from places like the CDC, the World Health Organization, Medscape/WebMD, UCSF, and the Mayo Clinic.
There are a lot of misleading articles out there on the internet, in newspapers and in magazines. A lot of them are getting shared on Facebook and other social media sites. Most of these articles are unintentionally misleading, like the article that reported that anti-inflammatory and steroidal medications have the potential to make COVID-19 infections worse.
These medications can weaken the immune system, and OTC NSAIDs probably shouldn't be your first choice to treat a respiratory infection right now. But people who have prescriptions for these medications really need to keep taking them, because keeping chronic health conditions under control is vitally important. If your doctor has prescribed these medications, the benefits to you outweigh the risks.
Other articles have been written by people who are trying to use the panic over COVID-19 to serve their own agendas. For instance, you are not more likely to get COVID-19 if you eat meat, because none of the animals that are known to carry it are normally eaten as food.
Now is not the time to eliminate an entire food group from your diet or stop taking prescription medications unless your doctor, who knows you, explicitly says that you should.
