Custom Wearable Downtime and NEW SYSTEM LAUNCH!
This downtime will only be for Custom Wearable related pages and sections of the website. The rest of the website will still be online and running as usual.
When we come back, it will be with a completely new, revamped CW system! The new system will live on Subeta v2, and we are so excited for you to see the great updates and new features we have prepared, including but not limited to:
- No more complicated batch system!
- Lower prices across the board!
- A new, easy-to-use submission process with simplified CW categories!
- A brand new (and official) CW directory, where you can add public notes to your releases!
- Upgraded CW shops to make organization and selling even easier!
AND MUCH MORE!!
We look forward to you all seeing the new and improved CW System!
NOTE: Any custom wearables submitted after 3:00 PM EST (Subeta Time) on Sunday 12/13 will be automatically denied in preparation for the new system.

@Jasper
I wish so much that rule could be relaxed too but it’s in place because people abused the system and would sell slots for a “limited” item for say 1k per copy and say they’d only ever have 5 copies.... but a month or two later they’d do the same thing. Staffs hands were tied, they had to make it a rule.

Well I've seen it happen. I've also seen people do limited releases for a few years before retiring fully. It is a damn shame that this rule will (probably) never be subject to change because too many CW's are so rare, they're practically extinct.

So exciting! :D:D:D
Speaking of directories (both official and custom) is there a good resource for searching for Tribute/fandom categories?

Does lower prices mean lower prices for people that buy them too? Because I hardly ever buy them because I can't justify spending 500+ CSC on one item

I've always wanted to get into making CW's. After this revamp I think I'll be really tempted to give it a shot!

@Beren Pardon my initial reply, I think I misunderstood! Under the new system, there will only be one way of distributing copies. That being said, the previous system worked just the same. Whether it was slotted or purchased yourself as a lumi gift, 10 copies (out of 10 copies available) have been used, and thus there would be no copies remaining. This is true for both the current and upcoming system.
BUT - if you release a background this year and say it will be unlimited (or will be seasonal), then it will be okay to re-release in the future. I hope this helps!

@Jessi can I ask another question?
Let's say I have a BG that has a limit of 10 copies and was NEVER slotted, because it was a lumi gift -
all the copies have been sold - this items still stays locked and sold out - that's right?
And if it would not stay locked and sold out - could I then get a few more copies?
I will have to think about numbers of my releases, sicne I usually do a lumi BG for my friends and I always buy all the copies myself and gift them.
But now after 3 years, those are on a buch of WLs
and I wish I could sort of get a few more copies for new friends of mine.
So let's say I would set this year BG as unlimited - I could then get more copies in a few years?
Since they are never slotted or anything - just a special release.
I do not want to get warned XD

Oh wow I thought it was right now and was thinking "Ok I didn't expect it to start THIS early."
And the 14th is STILL early. Wow!

@Targaryen - Remember that say, a wig you paid 700 CSC for previously had a base price of 500 CSC. It's true that some things purchased previously will likely have a lower sell price now, but that will be determined by the individual seller as it always has been. CWs are always only worth what people are willing to pay for them :)

@Jasper - Rules regarding previously-stated permanent retirements and batch limits will not be changed! I have said for a very, very long time - if you aren't sure if an item will be popular, don't put a permanent batch number on it! If before this system you said it was retired and would not be coming back, and it comes back, you can still get a warning. The only difference now is since there aren't batches, it will be based off total number of items (so if you say "This will have 20 copies on site" and you try to sell 25, you can get a warning).

The only thing I was thinking about are all the retired CWs people paid 700 CSC for are now worth 350 CSC! Is that correct?

Question: Will the rule about retired items be reduced in it's severity as well? I don't think unretiring popular items should be a bannable offense but I also understand people buying a limited edition item maybe perturbed to find out it's been unretired within a month or two of them buying it, so why not make the limit for unretirement only a year instead? This way, people get to bask in the exclusivity and have a chance to sell it for profit while potentials have the option to either pay now or wait til it's available next year and heck, it can even be at an automatic mark up due to it being a re-release of a retired item and we can limit it even further by making rereleases a one to three time thing. Just a thought.

I'm a beginner in CWs at best, only got one on site. But with those new prices I feel like I'll be drawing a lot of things...

Super big thank you and massive appreciation to every single person who worked on getting this up and running! I am seriously stunned by the amount of progress made in just the last few months, it's so impressive and you should all be proud of yourselves :)
I will try to contain my patience for just a few more days :)

@Beren - Yes, everything will be changed to the new prices. In the thread linked above, you can actually find a price chart that will show you where things will go :)
@Error - Yes, the pawn shop will be changing prices to reflect the new system prices, both for selling and buying (when it's open)
@MarchOnOff - The entire site will not be down, just the CW system. We have to take it down in order to properly migrate everything over. The rest of the site will be functional!

Awesome! I'll believe it when I see it working...And of course the site will be down, because shizzle happens...usually around holidays and events. Anyway, thanks and good luck...

things that are already on site will also be included in the price change?
I can't wait - I have atleast two more items I want to get online after the new system works
THANK YOU!
