Gold Quest-A-Thon Borders
Hello, Subeta!
Both quests and community are an essential part of this site, and Quest-A-Thons have been an exciting fusion of both components. We’ve had multiple Quest-A-Thons and you’ve risen to the challenge each time.
One of the rewards offered during a previous Quest-A-Thon, and planned as a prize during the most recent one as well, was a cosmetic of a gold border over the user icon. This was supposed to go to the top 100 questers (including ties!). However, for technical reasons (that have since been fixed and had contingencies implemented), the record of individual quests done per person failed and cannot be recovered.
The community came together, and individuals also worked hard to achieve their goal of the border. With the tools and data available, we want to make that happen! Thus the gold border is going to be given out to everyone who completed at least one quest during the Quest-A-Thon. We realize that this was planned to be more limited of an award but feel that the more complicated situation warrants the change in parameters. That change is not meant to be a habit, but it is a part of SubetaTeam’s commitment to figuring out solutions as new challenges come up.
Thank you all so much for your passion and your patience in this matter. For those who maxed out their quests, excellent work! For those who made the time for Subeta between busy schedules, we appreciate you as well. We look forward to having fun with everyone for future events and holidays.

Thank you!! I have been a member for more than 15 years now, i LOVE it and always make sure to come back for the events! I hope we return to those years were events were more engaging and had actual games and tests --in the meantime, thank you for continuing to work on the site and for this lovely update.

Update: I see the message "Locked: Came in the top 100 in a Quest-A-Thon (Note: This was given to all participants of the 2021 Quest-A-Thon)". I participated in a Quest-A-Thon, but I can't recall if it was this year or not.

In the side topic of English, I'm Brazilian and speak Portuguese. This post is fine, very well written and I didn't see any unfamiliar work. Easy to understand, at least for myself. I don't think I have ever experienced a Subeta text (aside from the pirate ones that always come with "translations") that was not clear for me. I can't talk for everyone tho!

Also hey, know what to do when you encounter a word you don't know? Google it, use a dictionary, or ask for help/clarification from others.

Honestly I'm very glad for this update. I did all the quests I could but was always worried about missing out on the border because of random extra quests like the wizard's buff you can sometimes get.
If the options were "nobody gets it or everyone gets it", I'd much rather go with this option!!

Where in the settings do I go to actually change my border? If there was a link in the notification, I didn't see it because I accidentally deleted it.

english is my second language and i understood this post just fine. i will concur that a more technical stance was portrayed, so if anything, less tech-y words will avoid any confusion.
BUT, before the notification emerged for where to find borders, i struggled to figure out where exactly they were located, because i didn't understand how it is a "cosmetic" lol.

WOOHOO, thank you!! I was so worried I would never get this border lol.
Also, a suggestion?? I appreciate how eloquently you speak, but I sometimes have a hard time following your sentences because they are long and you use a lot of big words. If I, a native English-speaker, am struggling, then it's likely our non-native English-speaking players are struggling even more. Please consider this going forward and try to find simpler ways to convey your thoughts for those who struggle with this level of eloquence lol. Thank you! And congrats on becoming Community Manager!

I'm happy that everyone who participated can get the border. :) I think this was definitely the right decision.
much like non-unique pet names, i think this benefits everyone in the long term. i appreciate the decision to reward everyone who pitched in. doing all of the quests every day was difficult, especially with how shaky IRL can be for most of us. thank you!
