Love it but I think it's old, 'must blow hair off face' face, is the best improvement. This one is totally cute. But the snout looks a little...little compared to the eyes and that might make the chibi difficult since this one practically is chibi. XD I actually like this revamp where usually I'd be dragged away screaming. (Sorry about that. XD) About time too.
The only real quibble I have with the new Malticorn is that the front leg looks too straight to me, like it has no joints in it or the knee bend is placed far too high. Also, I have to agree with Sire on the expression- a lot of people had the same problem with the Dragarth. The artwork is nice, and the picture is cute, but I don't see why some pets aren't just reshaded rather than completely revamped.
Sire's comment pretty much summed up how I feel about it, too. The updated shading and lines were beautifully done. But the personality (as seen in the facial expression and stance) has been changed, too, and I don't understand why those particular changes were necessary.
;o; I liked it with thick lines, and the shine in its hair is disappearing! I really don't like this revamp.....but I'll tell you why. Notice the origianl malticorn has the swirl going down on the clump of fur above the hoof, in this has it going up. The hooves are more detailed, i admit, but I think they are much to small and they need to be wider. The eyes are especially, er...it just has a really weird look on its face.:/ The mouth area is too small, and I really loved the originall stance...it was fun, proud, and looked natural. Its chest is too fuzzy and there are too many lines on it.<img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0> The horn looks like a shark is swimming around in it's hair...XD No offense, but it does look silly. The color is more gray than blue. The eye color looks awkward next to the hair, and the hair isn't very natural looking. And as an add in; the hind leg closest to us is off; Compared to the others, it's much too thin. I dislike how cute and cuddly everything on this site is getting. If the same thing happens to some older species, I will be upset. Not everyone here necessarily is five years of age and 'ONG! LUVS THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE DIZNEY!!!'. Everything was much more mature and appealing before this.... child-like trend hit the artists like a bombshell.

The shading is definitely much better than the old one, and as usual the thinner lines make the malticorn look much less out-of-place with the updated pets, BUT.
I voted for old, because honestly, I do like how the old one looks better.

Redrawn doesn't need to mean "changed"... the old malticorn definitely had a more wide-set face, along with that cutesy-coy expression of looking up under its bangs, which is what people got used to and associated with the species. With a changed face and loss of expression, it does lose the whole... personality that the old malticorn had. A shorter wider snout would make a world of difference.
Also, I think the pose actually downgraded. The old malticorn had more movement and body shape than the new one. The redraw is, like a lot of people have said over and over, stiff and blocky-looking. Even in the body itself, the old malticorn had the little tummy, whereas the new malti is just uniformly thick, and the old malt has more curvy legs rather than just the dull thick side-view legs the new one has.
One last nit-pick: the new malti is kinda just standing there, and while its not THAT much of a difference, the old malti does have its front hooves a lil bit forward like its leaning its weight back, almost in that puppy "i-wanna-play" pose along with its upturned eyes and whatnot. Why is it when they revamped the Sheeta, visual changes were actually made until there was a something of a compromise, but with the Malticorn, many suggestions have been made, but nothing has come of them? I'd like to see what the progress is regarding the revamp (even if I don't like it).

I really think angelembryo's idea is perfect. Maybe move the hair so it's more centered, but otherwise, I think that's so much better than either the old or the iffy revamp.

It looks like my dog. And frankly, my dog does not look good as a cartoon. Back to the malticorn, I would hate to see alll the colors changed to this look. Maybe two would look better, but the majority of the colors look great the way they are. I like Angel's "thinned" one much better than the revamp.

Just to make it clear, I did not make the eyes. I switched them with eyes arbor drew on the new Devonti. Arbor drew them, I just messed around with her stuff. They're there for only for a visual example about how much of a difference smaller sizes can make.

Ok, purely for the sake of curiosity, I took the original Malticorn and just thinned the lines. Didn't mess with anything else, except the mouth and far foreleg - only major difference is the lines. Does it still look so outdated?

It's a really good start, but I hope this isn't the final draft as there's a bit that needs to be improved. I would totally opt for the smaller eyes. I would also love to see it in a more fluid, natural pose. A longer tail that isn't held in such a stiff looking way (Though, I love the swirly, fluffy look of it) and more natural, less rigid legs. A part from those things, I really love what you've done. The shading and coloring are just SUPERB and the mouth is so adorable. :3 I love the shaggy little feet. :3 Also, please don't touch a silver hair on the graveyard malticorn's decaying head. I love them the way they are. :3 Thanks for all your hard work!

In short, here's what I do and don't like about this: I think the face is a bit too small, and the eyes a bit too big. =x The ears and hair are wonderful, though, and I like how the horn is more curved now. The legs look... too straight. It gives the whole creature a kind of boxy look. I do love the new shading, though, and the fluffy tail. One last thing is that maybe the hooves are too small? I'm not positive on that one.
I definitely agree with iamreal... if there's over 500 votes against the revamps, we should at least be compensated somehow... maybe with a new redraw to vote on... especially when so many people have the same complaints about this one... the pose, the horn, the non-looking-up eyes...

I love it!! Its face is so squishy and cute! squishes it Love this re-draw! And... I dont usually like re-draws. But this... squishes So cute!
The eyes are too large and are too close together, making the face seem too narrow. I like that the hair is not covering the top of the head now, though. The coloring and lineart is better and less blocky, but thats all that I like over the older one. =/

The horn changes everything. Please make the horn NOT curved! I like the old way, which was to make the horn straight, like a unicorn's. Thanks for listening!
The eyes seem a bit big, and there's something weird about the horn. I also think the head looks a bit small, for some reason, and the tail seems a bit stiff. The lower areas of the hind legs look a bit off somehow, too. I know someone mentioned that the tummy's too flat, which I hadn't noticed before, but now that they mention it, I can't help but agree. Other than that, it's good. I voted for the old one before I had time to think, but now I'm starting to think that with a few minor changes, this would actually be an improvement. Just make a few adjustments to this, and don't revamp the Reborn, Graveyard, and Scribble Malticorns, and I'm fine with it.
When looking at the old and proposed revamp, I say this one looks more mature than the old one. Which is quite refreshing, since some previous revamps have made the pets look too cutesy and chibi-like.
I do like this proposed revamp. There are a few things that are bothering me, though. The curly chest fur just doesn't quite look right.. that's the only place where the fur curls up like that and so it doesn't match. <br /><br />Then there's the hooves: they look too rounded.. I think the old hooves would work. These just need more of a diagonal curve to them, instead of the semi-sphere look. <br /><br />The eyes are a bit too big. <br /><br />The horn could probably be straighter and some-what larger, but that's not such a big thing. I could live with it. <br /><br />Other than those few things, this really is a great revamp indeed <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> I'm hoping the graveyard version basically stays the same. I chose to keep the color because it wasn't multi-colored and rotting like the other gy pets. It still looks undead though, but elegantly undead x3

I absolutely don't like it. It has all the appeal of a bad taxidermy job. It's just... there. The old one was more regal and cute with vibrant colour and this one is as flat and uninteresting as sheet-rock. Don't revamp my Reborn or Scribble if you insist on this travesty.

Actually I don't see that the old one OR the new one look anything like a unicorn... both look like dogs to me. I thought it was supposed to look sort of like a malti-poo... hence the name. Even though they have hooves and a horn. I love the shading of the new version, especially on the puff of fur on top of the head, and the lineart is detailed and attractive. When comparing it between the old one though, I think the new pose makes it look a bit like it's leaning to one side. I think it could have a slightly more "grounded" pose. Also, the head appears quite narrow - if you look at the space between the eyes. The old version had a more balanced-looking head. I really really love the tail on the new version, though! I think with a few tweaks the new version would look really spiff.
