Love it but I think it's old, 'must blow hair off face' face, is the best improvement. This one is totally cute. But the snout looks a little...little compared to the eyes and that might make the chibi difficult since this one practically is chibi. XD I actually like this revamp where usually I'd be dragged away screaming. (Sorry about that. XD) About time too.

The only real quibble I have with the new Malticorn is that the front leg looks too straight to me, like it has no joints in it or the knee bend is placed far too high. Also, I have to agree with Sire on the expression- a lot of people had the same problem with the Dragarth. The artwork is nice, and the picture is cute, but I don't see why some pets aren't just reshaded rather than completely revamped.

Sire's comment pretty much summed up how I feel about it, too. The updated shading and lines were beautifully done. But the personality (as seen in the facial expression and stance) has been changed, too, and I don't understand why those particular changes were necessary.

Notice the origianl malticorn has the swirl going down on the clump of fur above the hoof, in this has it going up. The hooves are more detailed, i admit, but I think they are much to small and they need to be wider. The eyes are especially, er...it just has a really weird look on its face.:/ The mouth area is too small, and I really loved the originall stance...it was fun, proud, and looked natural. And as an add in; the hind leg closest to us is off; Compared to the others, it's much too thin. I dislike how cute and cuddly everything on this site is getting. If the same thing happens to some older species, I will be upset. Not everyone here necessarily is five years of age and 'ONG! LUVS THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE DIZNEY!!!'. Everything was much more mature and appealing before this.... child-like trend hit the artists like a bombshell.

The shading is definitely much better than the old one, and as usual the thinner lines make the malticorn look much less out-of-place with the updated pets, BUT.

Why is it when they revamped the Sheeta, visual changes were actually made until there was a something of a compromise, but with the Malticorn, many suggestions have been made, but nothing has come of them? I'd like to see what the progress is regarding the revamp (even if I don't like it).

It looks like my dog. And frankly, my dog does not look good as a cartoon. Back to the malticorn, I would hate to see alll the colors changed to this look. Maybe two would look better, but the majority of the colors look great the way they are. I like Angel's "thinned" one much better than the revamp.

Just to make it clear, I did not make the eyes. I switched them with eyes arbor drew on the new Devonti. Arbor drew them, I just messed around with her stuff. They're there for only for a visual example about how much of a difference smaller sizes can make.

Ok, purely for the sake of curiosity, I took the original Malticorn and just thinned the lines. Didn't mess with anything else, except the mouth and far foreleg - only major difference is the lines. Does it still look so outdated?

It's a really good start, but I hope this isn't the final draft as there's a bit that needs to be improved. I would totally opt for the smaller eyes. I would also love to see it in a more fluid, natural pose. A longer tail that isn't held in such a stiff looking way (Though, I love the swirly, fluffy look of it) and more natural, less rigid legs. A part from those things, I really love what you've done. The shading and coloring are just SUPERB and the mouth is so adorable. :3 I love the shaggy little feet. :3 Also, please don't touch a silver hair on the graveyard malticorn's decaying head. I love them the way they are. :3 Thanks for all your hard work!

In short, here's what I do and don't like about this: I think the face is a bit too small, and the eyes a bit too big. =x The ears and hair are wonderful, though, and I like how the horn is more curved now. The legs look... too straight. It gives the whole creature a kind of boxy look. I do love the new shading, though, and the fluffy tail. One last thing is that maybe the hooves are too small? I'm not positive on that one.

I definitely agree with iamreal... if there's over 500 votes against the revamps, we should at least be compensated somehow... maybe with a new redraw to vote on... especially when so many people have the same complaints about this one... the pose, the horn, the non-looking-up eyes...

The eyes are too large and are too close together, making the face seem too narrow. I like that the hair is not covering the top of the head now, though. The coloring and lineart is better and less blocky, but thats all that I like over the older one. =/

The eyes seem a bit big, and there's something weird about the horn. I also think the head looks a bit small, for some reason, and the tail seems a bit stiff. The lower areas of the hind legs look a bit off somehow, too. I know someone mentioned that the tummy's too flat, which I hadn't noticed before, but now that they mention it, I can't help but agree. Other than that, it's good. I voted for the old one before I had time to think, but now I'm starting to think that with a few minor changes, this would actually be an improvement. Just make a few adjustments to this, and don't revamp the Reborn, Graveyard, and Scribble Malticorns, and I'm fine with it.

When looking at the old and proposed revamp, I say this one looks more mature than the old one. Which is quite refreshing, since some previous revamps have made the pets look too cutesy and chibi-like.

I do like this proposed revamp. There are a few things that are bothering me, though. The curly chest fur just doesn't quite look right.. that's the only place where the fur curls up like that and so it doesn't match. <br /><br />Then there's the hooves: they look too rounded.. I think the old hooves would work. These just need more of a diagonal curve to them, instead of the semi-sphere look. <br /><br />The eyes are a bit too big. <br /><br />The horn could probably be straighter and some-what larger, but that's not such a big thing. I could live with it. <br /><br />Other than those few things, this really is a great revamp indeed <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> I'm hoping the graveyard version basically stays the same. I chose to keep the color because it wasn't multi-colored and rotting like the other gy pets. It still looks undead though, but elegantly undead x3

I absolutely don't like it. It has all the appeal of a bad taxidermy job. It's just... there. The old one was more regal and cute with vibrant colour and this one is as flat and uninteresting as sheet-rock. Don't revamp my Reborn or Scribble if you insist on this travesty.

Actually I don't see that the old one OR the new one look anything like a unicorn... both look like dogs to me. I thought it was supposed to look sort of like a malti-poo... hence the name. Even though they have hooves and a horn. I love the shading of the new version, especially on the puff of fur on top of the head, and the lineart is detailed and attractive. When comparing it between the old one though, I think the new pose makes it look a bit like it's leaning to one side. I think it could have a slightly more "grounded" pose. Also, the head appears quite narrow - if you look at the space between the eyes. The old version had a more balanced-looking head. I really really love the tail on the new version, though! I think with a few tweaks the new version would look really spiff.

Although.. now I'm looking at the old Malticorn.. it too has big goofy eyes. Hm. Iunno. XD I guess all I'd wanna see edited on the new one, would be the tail base being made thinner, and the horn getting more detail and being made straighter and slightly bigger. :3

Ciel, I don't think Arbor has drawn the Malticorn or the velosotor. And, dynamic poses are for special colors, not common. (Though I agree that this pose is a wee bit too plain, but it is tolerable.)

Actually a lot of the revamps have subtle differences indicating it may be a few of the artists doing it. (I may be wrong, though) and honestly, their expressions are far from 'stupid'. They're just neutral instead of some big grin or something.

I really dislike this for some reason.. so I voted for the old one. The shading isn't that bad, but I think the pose and shape of the body need a little more flexiblitiy. The head also looks strange. It might be the hair (it doesn't pop like the old color) or muzzle, it might just be the size of the eyes. It doesn't have the innocent look like the old one. Also the swirls in the fur seem a little randomly placed, but I can see why they were placed there like the old one.

The new revamps (and this one) are obviously drawn by the same artist. Why? They all have the same stupid expression. All of them are looking to the left (our right) with a smirk on their face. Every. Single One. It's going to drive me nuts. Pets have different personalities and flare. Why give all of them the same static expression and pose? It's terrible. Oh man this is just to die for.:hart: My only comment is at the horn seems more like it's coming out the top of it's head rather than the forhead like a unicorns would and I would personaly prefer the horn to be a bit staighter and rounder looking. It has a bit of a blade-like apperance. Aside from that this is the best revamp for any pet so far I think.

I really like the new malticorn! It's so much cuter, and the style fits better. Just looking between the two at the poll, I can see so many mistakes that have been fixed! Take the hair, for example. On the old one, it does cover the eyes more, which I like, but the horn and the center of the hair look like it's coming out of the head near it's ear. o_O I think the only things wrong with the new one is that hoof, the length of the horn, and that it could look a little less like a dog with hooves and a horn, and more like a unicorn-dog with the anatomy. Maybe to do that, make the body slightly longer, and have the tail be less floofy? I still really like the new design though. =^-^=

Maltas is taken from Maltese, which are a distinctive breed of dogs, IIRC. So hence the malticorn = blending of dog/unicorn. Or at least that's what I always though, so I kind of like that this ones features are more canine. I could be very, very wrong though. Anyone can feel free to correct me. Also, the lineart and coloring on this one is waaay better. It seems much less blurry.

One of the only revamps I dislike. The art is superior, but that is not a Malticorn.
It looked so adorable before, like it was asking us to play. Now its pose is static.
Change the muzzle, put the eyes a bit farther apart, flare the leg-fluff more, and tweak the pose back into its original shape, and then I'll like it.

I had to vote for the old version. I loved the old one in the way that the fluff.. flowed.. The flaring of fluff near the hooves was larger than the top of the leg, and the body was smaller in proportion to the legs. Also, the body curved more. The tail look nicer in a curl I think, like in the old one, and the new one's eyes are kinda big. Really, If you just traced over the old one, removing the bit of blue hair from in front of the eye {that's always kinda annoyed me} and updating shading, I'd be totally happy.

As an actual owner, I agree with everything Highland lass said... the horn needs to be straight and bigger, the legs should be bent at least a *little* bit, he shouldnt be so... boxy, I guess is the best way of putting it... and PLEASE let them look up again! Eh... it's alright. I don't like the color change. Don't make these colors dimmed down! I love the bright colors of the Malticorns, and this one is already lacking in its happy blueness. The hair should also cover the eyes more, that was really cute/mischevious looking in the old one. Not that the art is bad or anything.

Ugh, at last the day that I feared has come: A revamp that affects my pet! And badly. XP You know, new does NOT equal better. I liked the thick lines of the old one, and this one looks ridiculously... cartoony. It's as if it's saying, "Hey kids, buy my cereal!" It's completely silly and harmless. Hummm... There are still things that need to be fixed. Like Kerg said, the yellow hooves just don't weem to match the malticorn's soft color. Hmm...my only problems with this are the little curly hairs on the chest and foot, and the hooves. The hooves just look strange to me, and I think they should be silver like the horn. Yellow stands out too much in my opinion. The curly hairs just look kind of weird since the rest of the fur looks straight.

I voted for the new one, but I think it still needs a LOT of work. The face for one, is really wide and flat. The muzzle needs to be a tad longer and the face should be slimmed down a bit. The hooves look, frankly, stupid. That perfect half-circle cutout thing in the front doesn't look cute, doesn't look quirky, it just looks bad. Follow the example of the old design as far as the hooves are concerned, because that's how cloven hooves should look. Everything else looks great though, I love how floofy the tail is, now nice the fetlocks look, and the shading is really effective here. :3

Finally! The line art on the malticorn was bugging me so much. I know i don't have the pet but just seeing it...ugg. As far as this revamp goes I think that the bangs shouldn't be so parted. Put some of it infront of the eyes,it'll look more natural. Other than that it's a bit stiff but it seems as though all revamps are going like that so whatever. With that said I have to say that this is definitely much better.

It looks entirely too fluffy and the horn curve looks awkward. The fur collar looks deflated and that curl looks unnecessary. The eyes are generic cartoon eyes. The legs looked better more slender with the widening from the knees to the feet of fur. The tail is too puffy towards the hindquarters. The highlights are excessive where they don't need to be (the body) and muted where they should be (the mop of hair on the head). All in all, I'm not fond of it strictly in comparison of the old. I notice pets are bouncing artist to artist, but please, don't change the Reborn; that one is perfect as is.

The face is much more slender and feminine and it's missing the neutral maturity in the expression of the old one. This is the first revamp I actually voted for the old, because the old one actually has more appealing art all the way around. This Malticorn seems to be bow-legged. mycenae, you hit the nail right on the head. Common pet colors can be neutral without being static and boring. Just because a color lacks specific mood standards (Spectrum, DM, etc) doesn't mean it has to lack personality. And this revamp doesn't improve the Malticorn's design; it's just a revamp for the sake of a revamp. This one, like so many other recent "revamps," is actually more of a devamp. It completely destroys the elegance, vibrance, and personality of the old Malticorn and covers it up with tight outlines and shiny shading. And I think everything else I could say about this revamp is in my comment on the main forum post.

This one just doesn't have the charm of the older one. It's stagnant and lacks personality, whereas the older one seems to have a sort of spunky, confident air to it. I liked how the old one's little tuft of hair at the top kind of fluffed upward, but on the new one, it looks like a normal head of hair. The fluffiness of the chest tufts and tail seem to be far diminished on the new one too. The muzzle is too narrow, which pushes the eyes too closely together. The body and legs look stiff and blocky, as if they couldn't move in reality. The hooves also look too spaced apart.
Don't get me wrong, it's good art, but the Malticorn has a certain personality that's lost with this one. The trouble with these polls, however, is that most people will vote for the new one simply because it is new art. So, while flawed, I'm glad we can still be heard out in comments.

The only thing that I don't like about the new one is the face - The older one had a cute, more pug-like face, but this one made it all stretched out and awkward. However, I love the more textured design of the legs and hooves, but the tail and the pose still look really stiff to me.

True. But 'at rest' doesn't have to be the same as boring. Look at the Sheeta, for example! Then again, this is of course a matter of personal taste. And perhaps, if its other features (eyes, legs, etc) didn't look so stiff and lifeless, I wouldn't find the pose itself as boring.

I don't mind the revamp too much just a few minor things. The pupils and irises in the eyes seem to be shrinking with each revamp. Rounder irises and pupils would make it... more elegant? The body seems a little stiff. I don't like the horn that much, either. Maybe some more color added into it will give it some depth (crystal-like?). Something about the maw is kindof... off? But I do like it. ^^

I'm not fond of the current Malticorn, mostly because of the outdated art. But I'm afraid that I don't like this one either. The horn doesn't look like a horn to me, more like... a claw or something. The face looks almost a little creepy. This huge, hysterical, happy eyes are just not... my thing. Besides, it removes the pet's former personality which was more of a serious elegance. Now there is a sterotypical, cartoonish feeling to it. The whole pet looks stiff, as someone already pointed out. The pose doesn't look natural. Above all things, it's a pretty boring pose, to be honest. There is no movement, no life, no personality. The art is nice, no question, but this new version does not improve the pet in any other way at all. In fact, it's the other way around. At least the current Malticorn as grace, movement and personality. Sorry to sound rude, that's just my opinion.

ok, I looove this revamp for the most part. It's gorgeous. I would just suggest a couple of minor little changes.
1. The hooves, ummm not yellow. I think the artists are trying for a golden color or something but it just stands out way to much with the rest of the coloring.
2. Honestly this is such a minor thing that most people probably haven't even mentioned or noticedi t. But I would remove the curly Q in the fur by the neckline. The first time I saw it, at a quick glance I thought it was a jewel. I was like WTHeck is a Malti doing with a jewel in it's fur LOL.

I think I agree that the re-draw is not as 'feminine', but honestly, the current malticorn already has huge eyes (compared to it's other facial features; the angelics are proportional). You can see more of them in the redraw though, maybe if it's fluffy mop of hair that needs to be moppier and fluffier? (I can't believe the artists kept the curli-q's in the fur around the hooves... kudos.)

I really like everything about this, except that my biggest peeve from the originall is still there - what's with the yellow hooves?? Also, I think the revamp could be made even better if you use some elements from the Reborn version. First, the pose is more dynamic. Second, the muzzle has a lower profile, as do the eyes, which is a nice change from the original version and this redraw - it is more expressive, and less "look into my hypnotic eyes!!!". Third, the horn is twisty - why not give all Malticorns a twisty horn?

This is the only revamp I have ever voted against. I had to stare at the two pictures a long time before voting and I still can't say specifically which details I don't like about the new Malticorn, except that it really just seems like a dog with a horn now, instead of a unicorn, which I had always thought of the Malticorn as being. I know it's a vague suggestion but I would like it better if it looked more unicorn-like.

I really like the new head fluff, but overall I prefer the old one. I love it's coy, upwards-looking expression, and I think the muzzle looks over-defined, so that it looks too canine. Yes, the malticorn has canine elements, but I this revamp I think takes it a tad too far, so that it becomes a dog with hooves. The concrete things that could be easily fixed to make me prefer this revamp are: (1) return the upward-looking gaze, (2) make the leg feathering look more luxurious, maybe by defining it less?, (3) a softer jawline/muzzle, and (4) reposing the front legs so that they look less stiff. ...The malticorn is all soft, coy, candy-floss sweetness; the redraw is perky and mischievous. That's well and good on it's own, but it isn't our malticorn.

Another pet standing in that generic-of-generics stark, static, poker-legged pose? At least the old one had some angle to its legs and a tilt to its head that made it look puppyish and cute, like it was about to bound off and play and just paused briefly to have its picture taken. And there was nothing wrong with the anatomy of the old one; it was stylized and unique while still being anatomically correct (except the angle of the tail) - a rare combination on Subeta these days. Also, the shading looks more like plastic than shaggy fur, like most other recent revamps, and the colors look washed out. Even the smile looks less happy and more Mona Lisa-ish. And why is the horn suddenly curved? That was an unnecessary change, if you ask me. All the Malticorn needs is a slight outline smoothing and reshading, not a total redesign.

-cries- I never ever complain about revamps but I really hate this one... I loved the old malticorn because of its cocky expression and unique (yet accurate) slim anatomy.. it was all curved and elegant looking. This new one has anatomy like a box - perfectly straight front legs, perfectly straight back legs, perfectly straight midsection <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0> The expression is also extremely generic and devoid of any real emotion or anything... it's just kind of looking at you blankly. I also dislike how the hair just sort of dangles limply on the head... I liked the round shape of the old one... the rest of the face, horn, hooves, tail & shading look great to me, but I reaaaaaally wish it could have that same cocky, knowing expression as the old one... and also more curvature to its anatomy. I really dislike most new Subeta art these days it seems, since it seems like most pets are in very stilted poses with wonky anatomy and heads that either seem too small or large. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0> And I apologize again, I mean no disrespect to the artists -- it's just my personal opinion.

Hmmm, my only irk here is the face. I'm not sure how to quite describe it, but this one is lacking in the facial character that the other one held. It seems to be trying to hard to fit the OH LOOK I'M CUTE criteria. The old face seemed to be befitting of the pet's own personal contented state- this one looks more like it's too aware of the audience looking at it. I've never been a fan of pictures staring directly into the camera.

Okay. I really don't know where to start. Maybe with that I didn't want this to happen but since it is the possible re-draw isn't /totally/ heart-breaking. I really liked Saga's slight edit- the stomach looks a little flat even if I'm glad it doesn't have that pigmy-horse pot belly. XD I think the chest and head fluff need a little more.. fluffing, the hooves should be slightly bigger (not much, it's just the fur around them- even if I adore it, makes them look small), the face maybe a teeny-bit wider, and the front legs added.. knees? :'D It doesn't really look like it has any to me. Maybe a straight horn.. possibly? Please. It's not perfect, nothing is, but I can't say I'm terribly broken-up about my favorite pet getting a revamp like I have with some of the other ones. Just needs a little work. Personally I like the wider snout but I see the point it making it smaller because of popularity of special colors (as Luxe brought up).. Oh yes. The old malticorn looks much, much more dignified and classy than this one, despite its sketchy art. This one's face makes it look kind of goofy, and, as someone else said, dog-like. I have to agree a little about what some say about the pets becomming a little too cartoony or Disney like. While I'd still vote new, as the old one seemed more of a sketch, I'd still like to see it redone. One reason I really like subeta is that even though the pets are cartoony and not very realistic, they still looked a lot more mature than the pets of some other pet sites, which I stopped playing as the pet revamps and changes just started looking silly. I'd hate to see myself wander from Subeta for similar reasons. I'd love to see Subeta keep the more mature look of pets, and while this isn't too bad, it's slowly getting to the point of being -too- cartoony with a "lets-go-play-with carebears-and-my-little-ponies" cutesy style (sorry, couldn't think of any other way to describe it, heh)

Well, I can see clearly that the muzzle shape is not a "mistake" but an artist's choice - I simply never think of them as "dog-like". We have Legeica as a "horse-type unicorn" and if majority likes this revamp, I would not complaining loudly after it's done.
Another thing bothering me is rather... personal feeling. The old malticorn look more like a "female", more delicate and sweet. This one has expression of a little boy plotting something. But again, it is only personal and I know that "personality change" of revamped species is always a problem for current owners - but not for the future ones.

Either Front or Hindleggs could be a bit bend. I like how the frontleggs of the old are shoved a bit to the front.<br />And the belly looks not realy right for a horselike thing... also the part belly/hindlegg. "more rounded" said Saga... that could be it. ^^<br /><br />But well, over all. But it would be ok overall even if this came out like it it's now. =^.^=

For anyone who is wondering, the Malticorn is meant to be a cross between a <a href="/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FImage%3AMaltese.jpg" target="_new">maltese puppy</a> and a unicorn. So those of you complaining about it being too "dog-like" are actually complimenting our success in bringing out its origins. Likely, this will not be changed. <br /><br />

topizots, we considered a wider muzzle, but the most popular colors of the malticorn have this slightly slimmer snout, and so we opted to keep that. I'm sure more people will be upset to see their angelics and graveyards changed to have a short, wide snout.<br /><br />As for the line weight, they are right in line (no pun intended) with our standards and do not need thickening.

The pose just isn't working for me - something about it looks dumb. I think it's probably to do with everything PonyCrazyHorseMad pointed out about the front legs. Do like what happened with the Ontra and make a second revamp - the Malticorn needs it badly, but this just isn't the one.

I also have to add that I LOVE the new hair on this redraw. I can't wait to see the Graveyard redrawn, even though my GY Malti is one of my favorite pets. XD; I also made the butt a bit less rounded at the top. The rest of the anatomy I really like as it is.

I really waited for this revamp, but I voted for the old version. New has beautiful body shading, but the horn is too small and gray, and the muzzle looks too much like a dog. I understand that that isn't a unicorn and that the "face" is similar to the old one, but still I don't like it very much. (I hope this feedback is not too harsh... I reaaally want the malticorns to be revamped!)

Ugh, at last the day that I feared has come: A revamp that affects my pet! And badly. XP You know, new does NOT equal better. I liked the thick lines of the old one, and this one looks ridiculously... cartoony. It's as if it's saying, "Hey kids, buy my cereal!" It's completely silly and harmless. The old one looked mischievous at least.
This is going the way of Neo, which is why I left them. All their pets became cartoon parodies to cater to very young kids. XP

Finally, the species that needed it the most is getting a poll! I'm glad that the face is more defined and less smooshed in than the current version (my pet peve), but I think the horn could stand to be a bit longer on the new as well as extending the fur around the neck area to flow a bit over the shoulders to round the shape out some. Other than those few suggestions, it's nearly perfect (no piece of art is ever perfect in my eyes, not even my own). Excellent job.

I like the revamp, but I voted for the old one. Something about the stance of the new one seems awkward to me, it should be leaning back slightly on it's front legs, instead of the front legs being stiffened with the top body forward and over it. If that makes sense? xD I prefer the old snout instead of the new one, it was a little more snubby and less defined, which was something I loved about the Malticorn. I also preferred the old horn, the straightened one instead of the curved. I also think the chest should be lifted slightly.<br /><br />

I love the colors and the shading.. but there are some things I don't like about it, too. I loved how it was looking up before, but now it's just looking forward.. that's not as fun. ;3; It also looked slightly like it was at a stance, almost like it was about to pounce or something, but now it doesn't.. The one curling part on the fluff of the chest bothers me, I thought you added a marking on the chest at first. It almost looks like it's supposed to be a Disney cartoon, to me. The eyes are sort of too big. And it doesn't look as playful as the old one. The nose was cuter before on the old one when it looked stubbier. The hooves look sort of odd to me from the front, aswell.. It's less fluffy, and the horn looks.. odd. It should be straight like the old one.. The revamp is cute and everything.. but I'm gonna have to go for the old one. Malticorns were one of my favorites when I first joined Subeta.. I like them how they are now. ; ; This is all my opinion, anyway..

My main problem is the huge gap in the hooves. Cloven hooves just don't look like that.
Otherwise it's fine. I hated Malticorns before, I still hate them now, but the art is certainly much improved.

well i find it a really well done revamp. im surprised at me saying that lol. it still looks like the malticorn and even the pose and face are quite similar in proportions and such. i really love how the artist kept it the old one "just" with much much better art. but i agree that the horn could be more unicornlike, and the belly could be a little bit rounder.

Not entirely fond of this proposed new version. The muzzle is awfully thin compared to the old one, the ears and neck don't fluff as much... it looks like it either molted or lost weight. I also sort of liked how it used to be looking up, and now it's looking at the viewer... meh.

I don't like it, to be honest. It lost quite a bit of it's previous cuteness, and now looks a bit. . . well. . . retarded to me (sorry if this offends anyone). I don't like the thin lines, the lack of puff, the shading or anything to do with the head.

I think the lineart is way, way too thin, which seems to be a new trend on Subeta. It's not one I like. I know the old Malticorn has ridiculously thick lineart, but this is like... strand of hair thin, and really takes away from any depth of the pet.
The other thing that bothers me, other than the mouth (it looks way too much like the recent darkonite redraws' mouths, which hasn't appealed to me... it just looks crooked) is the feet. I know they're hooves, but the front legs in particular make the poor thing look like it's standing on broken ankles. Ouch.

Something about the pose of this new one looks too upright to me. I always imagine Malticorns to have their legs go from body to the ground at a more diagonal (the back legs, anywho).
