Although.. now I'm looking at the old Malticorn.. it too has big goofy eyes. Hm. Iunno. XD I guess all I'd wanna see edited on the new one, would be the tail base being made thinner, and the horn getting more detail and being made straighter and slightly bigger. :3
The art quality is gorgeous and a definite improvement on the old Malticorn. C: ............................................................................ Lalalala. However.. er. The eyes appear a little goofy? Sort of.. big and far more cartoony than I'd have expected from the Subeta of today? I thought Subeta's style was becoming slightly more realistic? Everything else about this revamp appears as if it's been given a really nice, clean update with more attention paid to the finer details, so the big eyes thang kind of throws me off. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0> I'd also like to see the base of the tail made thinner? One of the things I always liked about the Malti's tail was that it got all chubby and fluffy at the end, not so much at the base? And I'd agree that the horn, being one of the defining features of the species, should be given a bit more attention; slightly bigger, straighter and more detailed?
Like a few people have already said, the new one looks like a dog with hoofs and a blue feather duster on its head.
While I agree that the art is generally better looking and a lot of mistakes have been fixed (like the ears), all the revamps lately have ended up looking like (idiotic) chubby kids (new Angelic Kerubi anyone?)
The old Malticorn at least looked a little bit grown up and was in a more unique pose, so despite all its mistakes I would still rather have it.

I love how this is kind of like a redone version of the old one, rather than a complete redraw like so many others out there. The eyes seem a tad big, but other than that it's really nice.
Change the Graveyard Malticorn and I'll sic mine on you. I dislike the "new" face, and feel like the ruff and the feet could use some work. Then again, it seems as if I've been out-voted. Just don't mess with Scorne, and I'll be fine.

I think maybe the design of the malticorn should be improved, because it still looks dorky, even though the art has improved by a lot. Maybe no weird blue wig? I guess I don't know what to say, this is a strange pet altogether, and since I don't own a malticorn maybe I shouldn't be critisizing it <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

Honestly, it looks far too doglike. Short-legged and stout. Its tail is far too thick, too, and its expression is slightly like it's mind-numbed.

Ciel, I don't think Arbor has drawn the Malticorn or the velosotor. And, dynamic poses are for special colors, not common. (Though I agree that this pose is a wee bit too plain, but it is tolerable.)

Actually a lot of the revamps have subtle differences indicating it may be a few of the artists doing it. (I may be wrong, though) and honestly, their expressions are far from 'stupid'. They're just neutral instead of some big grin or something.
I really dislike this for some reason.. so I voted for the old one. The shading isn't that bad, but I think the pose and shape of the body need a little more flexiblitiy. The head also looks strange. It might be the hair (it doesn't pop like the old color) or muzzle, it might just be the size of the eyes. It doesn't have the innocent look like the old one. Also the swirls in the fur seem a little randomly placed, but I can see why they were placed there like the old one.

The new revamps (and this one) are obviously drawn by the same artist. Why? They all have the same stupid expression. All of them are looking to the left (our right) with a smirk on their face. Every. Single One. It's going to drive me nuts. Pets have different personalities and flare. Why give all of them the same static expression and pose? It's terrible. If they were more dynamic, it'd be a billion times better. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/smiley_sadface.gif border=0>
Errm...The Malticorn isn't supposed to be a unicorn....It's a mix between a hore and a uicorm..I think....XD
Oh man this is just to die for.:hart: My only comment is at the horn seems more like it's coming out the top of it's head rather than the forhead like a unicorns would and I would personaly prefer the horn to be a bit staighter and rounder looking. It has a bit of a blade-like apperance. Aside from that this is the best revamp for any pet so far I think.
I really like the new malticorn! It's so much cuter, and the style fits better. Just looking between the two at the poll, I can see so many mistakes that have been fixed! Take the hair, for example. On the old one, it does cover the eyes more, which I like, but the horn and the center of the hair look like it's coming out of the head near it's ear. o_O I think the only things wrong with the new one is that hoof, the length of the horn, and that it could look a little less like a dog with hooves and a horn, and more like a unicorn-dog with the anatomy. Maybe to do that, make the body slightly longer, and have the tail be less floofy? I still really like the new design though. =^-^=

The eyes are good, but are a tad big. And the mane-like thing needs to be thicker. The legs are stiff, and the base of the tail looks like painted cardboard, because it looks stiff, and its really not fluffy. Well, its a bit too thick. The stomach is too flat for my taste. xD

I like the shorter horn. Like many others, I think the eyes are a bit too large - and the smile a tad cheesy. If it does not undergo further alterations, I still prefer it to the old version.

Maltas is taken from Maltese, which are a distinctive breed of dogs, IIRC. So hence the malticorn = blending of dog/unicorn. Or at least that's what I always though, so I kind of like that this ones features are more canine. I could be very, very wrong though. Anyone can feel free to correct me. Also, the lineart and coloring on this one is waaay better. It seems much less blurry.

One of the only revamps I dislike. The art is superior, but that is not a Malticorn.
It looked so adorable before, like it was asking us to play. Now its pose is static.

Ah, and it looks kinda canine, unlike the old one. I forgot to say that the art really is great, but just not what I'd choose for a revamp.
I had to vote for the old version. I loved the old one in the way that the fluff.. flowed.. The flaring of fluff near the hooves was larger than the top of the leg, and the body was smaller in proportion to the legs. Also, the body curved more. The tail look nicer in a curl I think, like in the old one, and the new one's eyes are kinda big. Really, If you just traced over the old one, removing the bit of blue hair from in front of the eye {that's always kinda annoyed me} and updating shading, I'd be totally happy.

As an actual owner, I agree with everything Highland lass said... the horn needs to be straight and bigger, the legs should be bent at least a little bit, he shouldnt be so... boxy, I guess is the best way of putting it... and PLEASE let them look up again! That was one of the cutest things about them, they dont look happy go lucky anymore <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0>

If it weren't so stiff legged I might like it more, but I think it needs much more than just that change. The biggest glaring things I see that i don't like are the now smaller curved horn and the stiff legs as well as the more boxy shape to the body as a whole. I would prefer the straight horn with a bit more length, softer legs with visible joints and a more rounded body shape. All of this is strictly a non-owner opinion, so weight it as such.

Hey, I actually quite like this! The old Malticorns drove me nuts. (sorry, guys) I truly adore the eyes. Although I'm generally not into "cute", this has really grabbed me.
I think DRAINEDsorrow is right. It looks too much like a dog, and what happened to the hooves? Please, please, PLEASE, keep the old Malticorn until a much better revamp is submitted!
Eh... it's alright. I don't like the color change. Don't make these colors dimmed down! I love the bright colors of the Malticorns, and this one is already lacking in its happy blueness. The hair should also cover the eyes more, that was really cute/mischevious looking in the old one. Not that the art is bad or anything.
I really hope new one stays as it it - it fits one of my pets personalities so well, I'd love to morph him into this if it goes through. I think Jag did a fantastic job with it <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

Oh be quiet...this revamp is great! The old one had more character? O_o hardly...the lines were to thick (in my opinion at least) and its in more of the Subeta 'style' now. The only thing I find a little off about it is the eyes...they could be a tad smaller...and the horn could be a bit bigger...other than that, it's great! Good job artists.
