A Grave Confession

Inspector Thorpe is interrupted by Gunter.

Thorpe: Well, it seems I've cracked the case! I mean, is that right, son? If you'd like to come with me, we'll go down to the local station and go through some questioning and get this all written down. It's nice to have a break from work but it's even nicer to close a case! Now, follow me this way-
Inspector Thorpe is interrupted again by a suave official-looking gentleman.

Thorpe: What the wizard! Taking my case from me? I'm not sure I'm happy about this, who are you anyway?
Cardale: Cardale. Jack Cardale. I'm with the SAI. We have a high security detention facility up in the Arctic Frost, and this is a little out of your jurisdiction, wouldn't you say? I can't promise he'll be comfortable there, but he'll have plenty of time to do a lot of thinking. Good work, Inspector. You're doing a fine job.
The inspector huffs and puffs but accepts.
Gunter: Thorpe, can you give this to my niece, Anne? She works at Quick Bites. She needs to read this. I think she may already know a lot of it, but I need to tell her the whole story.
Inspector: Hmm, I suppose a nice meal wouldn't go amiss.
Cardale: It's doubtful you'll find one at Quick Bites, Inspector. And I'll be taking a photo copy of that letter before you go.

@Solsticesprite No, the wyllop was Euclid at one point. I’m talking to Terracoon that was blown up by Euclid :p and now does shading dealings underground wit the VIP program.

@Amber: Yeah, they need bigger gloves.
But on a more serious note: I think it's mostly foreshortening. He's holding out his badge so that we can see it; therefore, his hand is closer to the fourth wall and looks bigger.
@Lin: I'm fine with the vegan food being there as an option, as long as "option" is the key word. But, seeing as Gunter had gone vegan, I don't think him not being in charge from here on out would really make a difference as to whether it's vegan or not. And based on his letter, it sounds like Anne—the only other known Brauer—is going to be a lot busier around Alegarten/Neugarten time for at least a while.
@Solsticesprite: I took it to refer to what stops surfacing when someone drowns.

I liked Gunter and Alegarten, if this is a standalone that gets rid of the holiday (or the character) or changes it to 'Vegan Fest', I'm going to be SO disappointed. That seems really uncalled for.

@colorWIRED
Uhhh... we had a plot where we trusted the islanders and they murdered a little girl to appease a sea witch. Subeta's always been dark.

I'm not complaining but has Subeta got a little dark lately?
I love the effort but i've been watching someone play Life is Strange and i'm like, emotionally overloaded lol.

I excitedly click on the news and think oh holy carp... a plot. Then I come here and see nope.

The NPC that ran the other zapper was a subeta pet some kind of wyllop, not a zombie? We know how zombification happens in Subeta, it's an infection,so the whole idea of Bubbles becoming zombified doesn't add up with just being murdered in a vat. I think Gunter wasn't as drunk as he says he was and was subjected to horrible mind-altering vat-chemicals and just doesn't remember it. Thorpe and Cardale are part of a coverup!

Was this your way of getting rid of a character? Don't understand the use of this, if any. I hope I will understand eventually. Does it means no more fest? Or a different kind of fest?
Oh welp, it's not a plot. Why use the exact same set up then? Guess only so many ways to do this.
Ah, I was excited this was a plot, lol. But no...
Anyway, it's good to have more lore and you know, murders and stuff

I guess if only the unliving are meant to go into the underground, Gunther and Anne never would have seen Bubbles in his current incarnation, so they'd have no idea...

also the thought of gunter walking around everywhere constantly equipped with steins of beer is funny to me #lifegoals

Whoa! Holy shit, not what I was expecting to read! This is my first year on subeta, so I didn't know there was this much drama.

Not a plot they say....*sigh* Lore building is nice though...I hope we get a little more...

Yooo, hey there Cardale. And lol at Gunter sadly confessing to his murder while holding two big foamy beers. Weepy drinks for everyone! (Poor Oatmeal! We accidentally put his care in the hands of a neglectful murderer? Though I suppose Gunter had a LOT of worries to feed him, eh?)
