Allandis scowled and slammed a fist into the table, sending water everywhere and his scrying bowl clattering across the table.
His entrance to Theede was to be delayed once again. That annoying woman Psione was meddling in his business -- trying to keep the boy Leif from joining Allandis' court of followers, trying to convince him he needed to help the gods instead, trying to stop what she should know was inevitable.
He bent his head and steepled his fingers on the tabletop, now deep in thought. Allandis needed Leif, needed to harness the boy's powers to weaken the gods sufficiently to take Theede by force. There had to be a way.
... Slowly, a grin grew on his face, and he brushed a few strands of his glossy hair back as he lifted his head again. That would be an excellent plan... Yes, he would try that. He stood up abruptly, and with a flourish of his cape, turned and strode out the door.
