Magni was born to Thor and the Jotunn Jarnsaxa, but lived with Thor as soon as his younger brother by one year was weaned. He had always been a strong boy. In fact, when he was just three years old his father was trapped under the leg of the giant Hrungnir after a duel that left the giant dead and a stone lodged in Thor's forehead, he was the only one of the Gods who was able to lift the leg off Thor to get him out. Thor woke up and as a reward for his strength, Thor awarded Hrungnir's horse, Gullfaxi to Magni. He continued to test himself and improve his strength by wrestling and dueling with his brother, Modi, who was nearly as strong as he was.

When he was still a boy, Thor married Sif and the boys got an older step-brother. Ullr, however was not as interested in wrestling and dueling with Magni and Modi, much preferring to explore the wild lands. Soon enough Sif got pregnant, and Magni was hoping for another brother to fight with, but was disappointed to receive a sister. But as she grew up, she liked to get into the fray and fight and wrestle with her brothers as much as any boy would have. The three children of Thor were very close knit.

Magni wasn't as outgoing as his brother and sister, however was more personable than either of them, which won him many friends. That and his good looks also won him many lovers, which he would often share with his brother(sometimes at the same time). Despite this, he has no interest in settling down with one woman... at least not quite yet. He intends to sow the fields just a while longer before that.

In the meantime, he stays in his father's hall, tends to the crops, goes out raiding, and wrestles with his siblings. Magni isn't aware of Ragnarok or the doom it will bring, but it is foretold that he will be one of the few survivors.
