A simple magician that seems to be trying to beat the evil image of his disfigured body by only being good and selling things cheaply to the less fortunate.. at first glance. In truth, he is an evil but charming silver-tongued snake, a more boisterous and self-obsessed version of his scientific but still evil rival, Omnios. He takes pride in his hideous devil-beast body, though due to its weight he can't move very fast or far, like an oversized slug.

His obsession with the Dark Arts lured in a stray Dhemon, and like Omnios' Kiara, the poor creature was savagely captured and held against its will. Unlike with Omnios and his hateful pet, however, Ezri Dax smooth-talked his way out of its righteous wrath, and convinced to stay alongside him as a business partner of sorts. It fetches him new things for his caravan, and in return he feeds it the souls of young pets that couldn't pay up.

You would think such a crude, devilish creature would get along with someone equally as evil. But no, Omnios and Ezri Dax are as different as day and night, and just as prone to squabbles as an old married couple. Their rivalry covers everything from who read the most books, whose minion is the most depressed, who's the most evil, and currently, who can sell the most high-priced pieces of junk from their respective places. Considering Omnios is doing the selling from his lab, there was quite a bit of evil peer pressure to get him into this particular contest. (Omnios convinced himself that while losing some of his precious hoard of elixirs, he would be gaining the funds to retrieve more books for the first contest)

It has been hypothesized that this rivalry started not from hate, but from admiration. Both experiments will deny this in a heartbeat.

Ezri Dax is surprisingly agreeable for a devil-beast, and the only things he loathes are Omnios, losing money, young children, and the forces of light and good. Supposedly the latter isn't because he's evil, but because his flesh actually catches fire if exposed to too much light - a fact that calls into question why he's running his operations from a open, outside-based caravan.
