.: Appearance :.

Quetzal is much like a mixture of a dragon and a feathered serpent. Her body is long and serpentine but with short legs and long, elegant, feathered wings. Her body is covered in soft, downy, light blue feathers and trailing from her head and tail tip are long, royal blue, irridescant plumes. Her belly is scaled like a snakes, and of white hue. her wings are light blue with white top and tips. Her eyes are a rich blue and slitted, unlike a snake her eyes do blink and have a third eyelid like most reptiles/birds. Her tounge is forked and a dark blue. Quetzal's legs have white scales trailing from knee to toes, and inner forearm to fingertips. She is usually adorned in golden Mayan/Aztec jewelery.

.: Personality :.

Like most of her dragon species Quetzalteotl is virtuous, benevolant, kind and self-righteous. She despises evil in all forms and goes out of her way to either thwart it or aid those who need help. Quetzal is from a fantasy, pre-columbian, meoamerican setting and is very anacrhonistic and frequently confused by more modern situations. It has been years since she left her home and she had started to adapt to foreign cultures. Quetzal is very soft spoken and tends to pepper her speech with her native language of nahuatl and speaks with a thick mexican accent.
From a theocracy (a society run by priests/religion) Quetzal is very relgious and superstitious. She follows the good gods from the Mesoamerican panthenon, but accepts all goodly gods/spirits and rituals. (She has learned a lot about Shinto over the last few years due to her previous husband.)

Quetzal has recenty recovered from the trauma of her beloved husband and two of her children suddenly going missing. After a long period of searching for a sign of them she has presumed them as deceased. The sorrow was soul crushing and after leaving her remaining two children in the care of her feathered dragon family she went into a period of mouring, depression and seclusion in an Aztec pyramid sacred to Quetzalcoatl for the last few years. Now she is ready to face the world again, and is mentally ready to be the mother that her remaining two hatchlings so dearly need.
